Fantastic location in small private apartment block in the centre of Tignes Val Claret; Easy access to shops, five lifts, ski schools and the Grand Motte glacier. Free buses to all areas of Tignes;

Approx 2 hours from Chambery; 2 hours 45 mins from Lyon, Grenoble or Geneva . At 3,400m it is one of the highest resorts in the Alps - with over 130 pistes covering all abilities and 90 lifts. Excellent ski and snowboarding resort. Very long ski season (early December to May) and Glacier skiing in the Summer.

Excellent apartment and location .

I ski in Tignes Val Claret two or three times a year and have done so for the past 8 years

This is one of the best apartments that I have stayed in and would always recommend it

It has great facilities and a good location in the centre of the village.

Great place, comfortable beds,

My main concern was finding a place with comfortable bunk beds. I stayed in the double but wanted my brothers to be comfortable. I couldn't find many places that had beds that looked comfy but I can confirm the bunk beds and the sofa beds were great. The shower and bath was a lovely treat and the place as a whole has been very well refurbished.

Thought the toilet is a little small for the taller amongst us I would recommend this place and would look to stay again. Loved Tignes!

Beautiful apartment

The apartment is lovely - beautifully refurbished, furnished and well-equipped. The location is great - really close to shops, supermarket and restaurants and to the ski slopes (5 mins walk to the lift and then we could ski right back because there was plenty of snow). Warm, loads of hot water, great bluetooth music system and TV with UK channels.

5 STAR***** Fully Equipped Modern Apartment

I am a big fan of Espace Killy and since 2002 I usually spend 2-3 weeks per year in the resort and this apartment is by far the best accommodation I have stayed in in Tignes over the last 13 years and I will definitely return this season.

The apartment has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and offers great views over Tignes, access to many nearby bars and restaurants and has a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV and WiFi, which was reliable and fast enough to stream a movie via iTunes. The apartment is not ski in / ski out, but Tignes Val Claret is a relatively small village so the apartment is only a short walk to the nearest chairlift (Tufs) and you can virtually ski home via Piste H.

The Pre-arrival Information pack was precise and the apartment was easy to locate and access from the gare routiière in Val Claret.

An excellent apartment in the centre of Val Claret

Our family, 2 adults and a teenage son, has just returned from an excellent holiday based at this apartment. The booking and access processes are efficient and well organised. The website information and photographs were an excellent refection of the apartment. The owners are in UK and have a responsive contact in resort.

We know Val Claret well and this was a late booking when our previous booking went awry. Thank goodness they did - this apartment has converted us to self catering ski holidays ! We all enjoyed it so much more than the catered chalet we stayed in last year - very much more comfortable and relaxing.

The apartment has been refurbished, fitted, furnished and equipped to a very high standard of quality and comfort. The balcony has great views.

The owners have thought of everything you need for a self catering holiday, from the comfort factors like high quality bedding and towels, to useful kitchen gadgets, like a Tassimo and a blender, and even a few movies and Wii games. Sadly it does not have Wi-Fi, but many local bars and restaurants do. There is a TV but we were too busy to watch any!

Plenty of room for 3 and we catered for a total group of 6 on 2 nights with no problem. Everything felt very clean and new and the apartment was very warm at all times. The double bed and the drop down bunks were comfortable and cosy.

The Grand Tichot building itself is located directly on to the main street in the centre of Val Claret, with an excellent supermarket just beneath it and a choice of ski hire shops, bars, takeaways and restaurants within a short walk. It is opposite one of the lifts to the lower level of the resort. The closest ski lift is Tufs, with ski school opposite, and is about 5 minutes' walk. If you are on the Bollin lift before closing time, and there is plenty of snow, it looked like you can ski back close to the back of the apartment (though we did not do it).

As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a coach park at the back of the building so it is very easy for loading and unloading; it was a source of quite a bit of night-time noise which was noticeable to us as we are used to a quiet village.

For meals out, we re-visited our favourite restaurant from last year, La Pignatta, and also Petit Savoyard; the bar next door in Nevada Suites was lovely; there is a huge choice of lunchtime and après ski bars around Tufs, and we liked La Praline and Le Dahu in particular.

Great apartment, great location

Just back from a great holiday, fab apartment, very efficient service with the hand-over. The owners have managed to get in everything we needed into this apartment, from excellent stocked kitchen to much needed cupboard space. The views look out over the slopes so didn't need much tv to entertain us! It's also very warm and cosy and the bed is sooo comfy.

Location is brilliant, with good bars, restaurants, supermarket, shops literally underneath the block and the car park opposite. Very short walk to the slopes too which is always a bonus. We ate out at Couloir restaurant, great steaks. Lots of restaurants and bars to choose from.

Would definitely recommend to friends.

Tignes is one of the highest and largest ski resorts in Europe, and has lots to do in the Summer. It also happens to be a French sporting centre of excellence with a focus on high altitude training (as used by the French rugby team for their World Cup training).

Tignes Val Claret (2,100m) is located right at the foot of the Grande Motte ski area, at 3,450m high one of the highest in the Alps (you can summer ski here as well on the Glacier). Tignes is a short distance from Val d'Isere, whose slopes can easily be accessed on the same ski pass. Tignes consists of several small villages all interconnected by many lifts and runs. Due to its altitude it is one of the first ski areas to get snow in the winter and the resort remains open all the way through until early May, with fantastic spring skiing, and summer skiing available on the Grand Motte glacier nearby. SKIING (Winter and Summer):

Tignes is a great family resort - providing a vast range of skiing for everyone from beginners through to the most advanced. With 20 green runs; 60 blue runs; 35 red runs and 16 black runs plus a wide variety of challenging off piste areas, the whole Espace Killy of over 10,000 hectares provides a superb skiing area for everyone. With a vertical drop of over 1,900 metres very few resorts can offer such a wide and comprehensive choice of skiing with over 300 km of runs.

The regular ski season generally runs from late November to early May. The Glacier provides extra opportunities to ski at high-altitude in the Summer (late June & July) and Winter (Oct/Nov).


Tignes also provides a wonderful summer holiday venue in the mountains for the active adventurers looking for fresh air, stunning scenery and thrills.

GOLF: Tignes Golf Club is based in Val Claret. It is the highest course in Europe shared with several marmottes who make their home there. With its 18-hole golf course it winds around the mountainside on 5 km of fairways, as well as natural obstacles highlighted by architect Philippe Valant, Tignes Golf Club is for both beginners and experts. 18 holes golf, par3, Mini golf, Practice, & Putting Green.

MOUNTAIN BIKING (MTB): World Class downhill MTB with free lift service. Amazing cycle routes.

CLIMBING & WALKING: Nearby Tignes Le Lac sports centre includes a large indoor climbing wall. Instructors and Guides can be hired for the mountains. Or just take the free lifts up in the Summer and walk the mountain paths.

SWIMMING: Large indoor swimming pool at Tignes Le Lac with slides and swimming lanes, a gym & and a sauna/jacuzzi area.

A non-refundable deposit of £150 (€200) is required to secure booking, or the full payment amount is required if you are booking within 8 weeks of the holiday.

A damage deposit of £150 (€200) will be added to your holiday cost. This will be returned in full within 3 weeks of the end of your rental period, less any charges for any damage to the property.

Extras: A Tourist tax of £2 (€2.48) per adult per night is charged (local Tignes tax for a 4* apartment).

Bedding and towels are included.

You can pay by bank transfer to a UK bank in GBP or to a French bank in Euro (at a current conversion rate).
Full payment, including an additional £150 (€200) damage deposit, is due 8 weeks prior to your arrival
The damage deposit is refundable 3 weeks after your stay
