2 bedroom, 200 year old barn conversion, sleeping 4/5, 1 mike from Bantham beach, awarded best in UK and 6th best in Europe by Lonely Planet. Newly furnished throughout, with electric central heating and log burner. Ideal for families or couples. Newly fitted kitchen (from November 2014) / dining room, including washing

machine, tumble dryer, dish washer, microwave, fridge and separate freezer. Spacious living room. Master bedroom, second bedroom with twin beds, plus 'z bed' suitable for a child. Bathroom, with bath and shower. Small garden, set within larger communal grounds, adjacent to a stream and a farm with alpacas, sheep, horses. Barbecue, picnic table. Separate shed, useful for additional storage.

About David and Mary Horne

My wife and I have recently retired. We live in a small village called Littlewick Green, near Maidenhead, in Berkshire. It is the archetypal English village, with a cricket pitch, a church and a pub. We have lived there for 23 years; prior to that, we lived in Ealing, in West London. We have two children, both in their twenties. We both enjoy walking, and exploring beautiful countryside.

Why David and Mary Horne chose Kingsbridge

I first discovered Bantham and Thurlestone during a golf trip to the South Hams some 20 years ago, and immediately fell in love with it. It is designated as an 'area of outstanding natural beauty', which means that there are extremely strict regulations regarding planning permission for development. Bantham village is part of a larger estate, which is privately owned by people who are determined to ensure that the beauty of the location is maintained.

When we retired, my wife and I decided that we would like to buy a holiday home in the area. We were particularly interested in converted barns, so were delighted when one came onto the market. We immediately fell in love with the Coach House, and the beautiful, secluded and peaceful valley in which it is situated, and have taken great pleasure in restoring the property since we bought it in June.

There is no mobile phone signal in the house, but a signal can be received at the top of the drive into Buckland Park. We have WiFi.

Beautiful location, gorgeous house.

This place is gorgeous. Such a tranquil setting in a delightful area of Devon. The Coach house was comfortable, modern, clean and stylish and gave us a great base for exploring over the bank holiday weekend.

Bantham beach was incredible, a must see but beware of the road heading down there! It’s single track with passing points and on a sunny day gets very busy - quite nerve wracking at times!

The Coach House is a short drive from plenty of great places to visit including National Trust spots and English Heritage places too. We drove slightly further away for days out in Dartmouth and Salcombe too.

Would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful barn, beautiful place, lovely people

We had a fabulous weekend staying here. The barn is absolutely beautiful and it is safe to say, it was one of the nicest places we have stayed in - especially with a two year old. The kitchen is so well equipped, there isn’t anything David and his wife havent thought of. The barn is easy to find and located really central to most places. It rained most of our visit but it didn’t stop us. If it was this beautiful in miserable weather, I can imagine what it’s like on a sunny day. Would highly recommend this beautiful barn. If you’ve already booked your really in for a lovely time. Perfect hosts with a beautiful well loved and cared for home.

Beautiful Property

We had the loveliest 3 nights stay here.

The beds are super comfy and the house is spotless!

Its in a beautiful peaceful little valley, right next to a lovely beach and little pubs.

Shops are also nearby.

Its a great base for exploring the South, with direct routes to many other seaside destinations.

The log burner was a lovely little edition and makes it even more cosy and lovely.

We will definitely be back!

Prefect in everyway.........Our second vist and wont be the last.

This was our 2nd visit to the Coach House and we cant get enough of it. It has everythng you need and more for the perfect stay.

The kitchen is fully equipped and very spacious with everything you need.

We love the log burner in the living room which again is very spacious but very cosy. The bedrooms are stunning with a great bathroom too. The whole place is decorated to a very high standard and has a relaxing feel.

The Coach House is located prefectly for you to explore and see the surrounding areas.

We have been visiting south Devon for 10 years and cannot wait to return as this is by far the best accommodation and location there is.

This place is truly wonderful. The barn itself a simply fantastic. Very nicely decorated, lovely and clean, excellent layout with all the bits and pieces you need. A lovely short break

The property was comfortable and welcoming.It was well equipped and ideal for a short break with family.The barn was within easy waking distance of some lovely coastal walks and a good pub.Also, it was ideally located for visiting Dartmouth and Salcombe.
