About the property

We have to offer you a typical house in an historical alley

Family's property since 1899. It is fully restored and distributed over 2 floors. The kitchen is on the ground floor and the bathroom, the bedroom and the living room are on the first floor.

The bedroom, with 18 m2, has a queen size bed and there is the possibility of an extra bed in the living room, if required (15 €/night).

We have available a baby's bed, up to 5 years old (without extra cost).

Our house is equipped with: cable tv, Wi-Fi, fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee machine, boiler, electric stove top, vacuum cleaner, air conditioning, fan and heater, iron and ironing board, washing machine and hairdryer.

We will change your towels 2 times per week and the sheets 1 time per week.

This unit is located in the historical centre of the city, inside the city's walls, 400 meters from the Roman Temple, the Cathedral and the Municipal Museum and 600 meters from the Chapel of Bones.

Évora is also an excelent place to settle a base and visit the surrounding beautiful cities such as Monsaraz, Estremoz, Elvas, Vila Viçosa, Arraiolos (average distance: 50 km).

Lovely, recently restored apartment in the old city, easy walking distance to museums, restaurants, etc.. The hosts went above and beyond in giving suggestions, being helpful, even acting as our guides for different attractions outside of town. We would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

Delightful Stay in Heart of Évora

We had a wonderful visit in Évora thanks to our hosts, Luis and Antonia. The location is in the heart of town, a very short walk from the main plaza and sights and tastes of the city. The house is charming, recently renovated and fully equipped. But the special warmth of our hosts made the biggest difference. They welcomed us the first night, provided a custom walking tour map, and went out of their way to help us to explore our special interests in the culture and life of the Alentejo region. They went out of their way to help with transport and translation for a visit to a local farm. Their recommendations of restaurants and places to see in town (and it's such a rich place historically) made our stay in Évora a delight and a highlight of our time in Portugal. We would happily stay here again.

Beautiful appartment and the nicest hosts

A beautiful appartment in the heart of Evora. All equipment/kitchen/bathroom is new and very well maintained. Antonia and Luis - the bests hosts ever! They prepare a lot of information about Evora, places of interest and so on and also about the area. You can ask everything and come with every problem, they have an answer or a solution. Very personal and warm welcome and goodbye. Thank you once again so much for everything. Also you have free WiFi (good connection) and in the evening we could do phone calls to Germany for free! We liked all activities they recommended. Of course I would recommend this location with this hosts to all nice people!

We had a warm welcome from very nice owners! They gave us usefull information about the city and places to go in the surrounding area. The house was very comfortabele and in the city center. When you decide to visit Evora, stay in the house of Luis and Antonia!!!

We stayed for 10 days and were able to walk everywhere in Evora. We were able to park our car just outside the walls within walking distance at no charge. We also used the apartment as a base for day trips by car to nearby locations such as Elvas, Portalegre, Monsarraz, etc. Evora has great restaurants and public squares as well as other attractions. The apartment is clean and modern. The bed was comfortable. The best part of the visit was the opportunity to spend time with the hosts, Luis and Antonia. They recommended great restaurants. They accompanied us on a couple of excursions, including a visit to Herdade de Rocim near Cuba/Vidigueira for wine tasting. We were able to gain a deeper understanding of Portuguese culture and cuisine with their help. We highly recommend this location.

Owners that care about your overall experience

The apartment is newly renovated and part of a much larger property that came from Luis' family. Eventually the property will house 2 stores, the owner's primary residence, a long term rental and several short term rentals.The apartment has all the modern conveniences while keeping the wonderful historical designs of the building including for example barrel ceilings. The apartment is two stories with the living room and bedroom above the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a small grocery nearby. Free car parking is about 10 minutes walking to just outside the old city walls. Fans provide cooling when necessary. While the apartment is nice, the most wonderful part of our stay was sharing time with Luis, Antonia and their darling son Santiago. We feel as if they are friends for life. They will spend as much time as you desire with you to explain their culture and geographic area. For example, they spent an entire day with us as we explored the area by car stopping at a typical restaurant for lunch where the local men might break into song after a few drinks. For sure we were treated to experiences only the locals normally enjoy. Only with this type of exchange will you really experience a country. Portugal is full of beautiful landscapes and even more beautiful people. Again the apartment is wonderful but you will miss out if you don't take the opportunity to share time with Luis, Antonia and Santiago. They are a wealth of knowledge and full of genuine concern that you have best experience possible. Enjoy!!!
