Overview

Property

Updated: 24-Nov-2016
8 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 8 toilets, snooker room, large garden, cosy warm.

This spacious large country house was formerly a farmhouse dating from the early 1800s and a magnificent stone barn dating from the 1600s. They are now combined into a newly renovated, newly furnished and newly equipped house suitable for family gatherings and group holidays.

Set at the end of a one mile long private track (tarmacked) in the depths of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside, this former farmhouse makes an excellent base for touring the western Yorkshire Dales and rural Lancashire.

The pleasant riverside village of Gargrave with late opening Coop supermarket, cafes, pubs and Indian restaurant is 2 miles. The attractive market town of Skipton with large supermarkets (Morrisons, Tescos, Aldi) and many independent shops and restaurants is 5 miles.

Wonderful country walks on public footpaths radiate out in all directions from this idyllically located rural property.

There are 8 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and 8 toilets. One ground floor king size double bedroom with adjacent bathroom, 2 first floor king size double bedrooms each with spacious en suite bathroom, one double bedroom and four twin bedrooms which means that the house sleeps 16 adults in comfort.

All windows have wonderful long distance views of unspoilt green countryside with grazing sheep and cattle, rolling green hills and woodland.

The renovation is to a high standard and is taking place over winter 2014/15, hence the lack of internal photos.

There will be a new huge farmhouse style dining kitchen complete with 2 oven range cooker, extra large fridge, separate freezer and dining table for 16 people. There is a second kitchen with 4 ring electric hob, oven and grill and another fridge plus a second dishwasher.

There is a large utility room/ boot room/ drying room with washing machine, tumble dryer and small pool table. The games room has a full size snooker table and full ancillary equipment to professional snooker standard. There are two comfortable sitting rooms (one with open fire in feature stone surround) each with a 42 inch flat screen TV.

Up to 4 dogs are welcome. The garden is dog proof, but they must be on a lead outside the garden because this is sheep farming country.

Four separate public footpaths radiate in different directions from this house, making it a perfect base for easy walking holidays. More strenuous walks are available in nearby Ribblesdale up the Yorkshire Three Peaks.

Stay at home and enjoy the cosy luxury of this wonderful house or get out into the surrounding beautiful countryside with green fields, hills and woods. The choice is yours when you stay at Ingber House.

Beautiful property in a lovely setting

  • 5 of 5

We are 5 families on our annual weekend away with children aged 10 - 15. The property had plenty of space for relaxing with comfy sofas in the lounges. The beds were also very comfortable! There was plenty of room for everyone. The property was perfect for walking straight out into the Dales without getting in the car.

Everything was clean and well maintained.

We will definitely return.

Very spacious and comfortable house in tranquil setting

  • 4 of 5

Ideal base for walking and cycling around the area. Good access to the canal tow path. Dining room was great with the two tables made into a huge square - perfect for family eating.

The snooker table was a big hit - the play was more amusing than impressive - especially as the weather was not good. The overall size of the house is a big plus, with plenty of space to chill out when required but big enough rooms to all get together when you want to.

Outdoor space is very good with great views and a sense of being away from it all in the countryside.

Lovely for those who like peace and quiet

  • 4 of 5

The accommodation was lovely and everyone commented on how comfortable the beds were. Cooling facilities were good plenty of room for everyone to muck in. The pub was walkable, about 45 mins, but most people who did it enjoyed the lift back.

It would be helpful to have a folder with local information available and some board games or puzzles would have been useful to keep the teenagers amused

Just what we wanted!

  • 5 of 5

A large group over 3 generations had a wonderful weekend at Ingber House. It's very well appointed and very spacious which was ideal for our family and a quiet space could always be found if needed. The billiard and snooker tables were a bit hit with young and old. The house is a little isolated but that wasn't a problem for us. We had a wonderful meal on Saturday evening courtesy of Susie at Cobble Kitchen which is based in Gargrave. Susie delivered our delicious food to Ingber House and I would certainly recommend her services. She is a charming young lady. I would not hesitate to recommend Ingber House and I'm sure it will continue to impress future guests.

Location

From the Owner

It sits in the middle of my Bank Newton country estate, so when the previous owners moved after 46 years living there, it was a natural addition to my estate.
