About this property

Season just extended to APRIL 21st. Last minute availability

All new kitchen appliances fitted. Lots of new bedding and towels added.

There is really something quite magical about Stowe, Vermont.
This property is situated in this pretty New England Village. The mountain is also easily accessible for skiers too. There is even a free shuttle bus from the end of the road to take you there. The house is perfect for couples, families, groups of friends.

Spend afternoons after skiing or after a relaxed breakfast, sauntering around this charming New England village with the only dilemma being which coffee house or deli to visit, or which Falls to visit and take in their resplendent scenery and atmosphere.

When i first visited Stowe, i felt as if i were in a winter wonderland. I hadn't realised it is also amazing during the Summer and Fall seasons.

Also particularly suited to all sports whether winter sports or hiking, bike riding, walking, tennis, golf etc. We have also just purchased a double kayak for your use also. Paddles and life jackets also available.

Or just relax on the porch, sitting by beautiful Waterbury reservoir, taking a small picnic with you from Harvest Market or Cafe on Main being my favourites or take a trip to the top of Mount Mansfield whether by car or chair lift in the winter. Beautiful views across to Mount Washington and the Canadian border

Go visit Lake Champlain in Burlington in the summer and take a boat across to New York state. You are also near the Canadian border with Montreal being the closest part of Canada to Stowe, about an hour and a half car ride away. I believe you can fly to Montreal as well as Boston, although I have never done so myself.

My house is on the edge of centre to the village of Stowe where you can take a leisurely stroll to enjoy the many features typical of a New England village which is well serviced with beautiful restaurants as well as other facilities along the Mountain Road ( a free shuttle bus is available from the village along the Mountain Road to Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak for skiing if you don't have a car with you). You can also travel easily to other ski resorts from Stowe such as Jay Peak and Smugglers Notch.

"Once the day is done there is nothing more heavenly that to retreat to The Four Seasons, maybe turn on the fire or cosy up to watch tv in the den."

My family has a strong association with the Village and to own a piece of it is a dream come true. Everyone who stays wants to come back. The property has 3 bedrooms, one being in the basement which has been finished to a high standard including shower room, utility room and den with seating and flat screen tv, plus a warm room to keep your ski boots toasty. The master bedroom upstairs is en suite with a large dressing room also. The second bedroom is also upstairs and next to the family bathroom.

Stowe is not only a truly remarkable place, but also became home to the Von Trapp family from the Sound of Music, is home to the original Ben and Jerry's nearby and has its own ghost, Emily, after which a covered bridge is named. The ski trails are fantastic and in the summer, are a treat to walk and hike for the amazing views.

The Green Mountain Inn along the road from this property is a quintissential New England inn where the Whip bar and Grill serves some beautiful food or you could just pop along for a cocktail in the bar in the evening while your dinner is cooking in the slow cooker in oilthe fully fitted kitchen. You must try the Green Mountain Inn brunch and Bloody Mary's at weekends. If you prefer to cater for yourselves, there are several grocery stores in the village and because its the US, almost every restaurant caters for take out service too.

The Four Seasons itself has a large walk out porch where you can sit on the comfortable porch furniture during the summer and barbeque or in the winter to just view the snowy surrounds (we use the grill in winter too). The land opposite is a nature reserve and we have seen deer walk across the road in front but beyond that are tennis courts and a newly refurbished ice rink. What more could you want from a property that sleeps 8 for the price of a room in a local hotel, where every need is catered for, even for the reader, my favourite book shop, Bear Pond Books.

If you're looking for a spa with pool and beauty and relaxation treatments, we often use the Topnotch resort along the Mountain Road. There is even an outdoor heated pool with views of Mount Mansfield and fire pits lit around the pool during the evening.

Apres ski is fully catered for in the Village. Go to Sushi Yoshi for free wings with every drink, Doc Ponds within walking distance for a great vibe and food or be a little more discerning by eating in Plate, also within walking distance of the house. I think this might be my favourite restaurant at the moment.

A couple of reviews from this year are as follows:

' secluded in the heart of the village. What a great location! A few short steps away from the village and yet sitting on the deck you feel like you are on the back roads. This unit is very clean and very well appointed.'

'beautiful home. We really enjoyed our extended stay in this home. We rented it for 6 months. The layout of the house is fantastic, especially the large master suite with walk in closet and private bath. What was also great was the location -- easy and quick walk to restaurants and shops in Stowe. House is well appointed and included everything we needed. Thanks!' and my latest reviews from only a few weeks ago says

'“Excellent choice!”
Very nice, clean, just as in the pictures.
The beds are great, good mattresses, pillows and linens are all new.
Very well located at walking distance to Stowe center and good restaurants.
Owner very helpful
One bathroom for each bedroom is a great advantage.
Nice kitchen very well equipped, everything good quality'

“Beautiful house in the lovely Stowe”

We stayed at the Four Seasons in the week running up to Christmas - it was wonderful. The house is spacious and well furnished. It is in a perfect location for skiing and exploring Vermont. Wonderful property, I hope we get the chance to go again.

Ive been told it smells like Maple Syrup indoors! I guess that means its warm and welcoming and they said how surprised they were that it is so comfortable for a rental that sometimes can seem so impersonal.

Each time we visit, we make new purchases and this winter we bought some more great quality rugs, added vintage skis and other touches to help that welcoming feel.

Enjoy and treat as your home.

Christmas decorations available for anyone renting at that time of the year.

Fab location and owner
The house is lovely. Great location in town within walking distance from everything. A quick trip up the mountain road to ski and easy to find. Very well equipped if you want to cook at home and extremely comfy beds. Susan was so helpful in organising the booking and made sure we arrived safely. Great woods out back to explore too!

Great location and comfortable townhome
The Four Seasons is in a terrific location just two blocks away from Lower Village in Stowe, close to coffee at Black Cap, heavenly granola at Cafe on Main, and great dining at Plate. The beginning of the Stowe Rec Path is a 5 min walk away. The townhouse is well equipped with comfortable furnishings and air conditioning, which mattered in Stowe in August during a heatwave. There's also a private porch with a nice Weber grill. The owner was a pleasure to work with and made things easy for us. The only negatives were a weak air conditioner in one room and maybe a bit more road traffic than we expected but not a big deal for Stowe. Thanks for a terrific stay!

We Will Be Back!
We spent the month of July in this lovely property. It is well appointed with comfortable furnishings, a Smart TV that functioned well with our Apple TV, all the kitchen equipment/utensils needed to prepare the most lavish meals, a new Weber grill, and lots of extra sheets and towels. The master upstairs has a king bed and an ensuite bath. There is a second bedroom and bath on that floor. In the basement is another bedroom and bath so two couples would have complete privacy staying in the unit. The unit is only two blocks from the quaint village of Stowe's main street with several good restaurants and a killer ice cream shop! Bike storage and ski storage is right out the back door for ease and convenience. The unit has individual AC units in all rooms which we needed for a few hot summer nights. The deck faces east making it the perfect place for morning coffee. We would highly recommend this property and will choose it again when we are in Stowe.

Once in a lifetime stay
Great walkable location to the cute little town of Stowe. I booked this property almost two years in advance for the solar eclipse viewing April 8th 2024. Susan answered all my questions and honored the booking. The property was clean and ready to host our group of 8. Plenty of parking for all of us coming in separate cars. We'd love to come back again!

Wonderful Stowe village home, perfect for ski week!
We had a fantastic week at the Four Seasons! The house is wonderful for a family - well stocked, lots of bathrooms and teens could hide in the basement living area while adults were upstairs in kitchen and main living room. We've stayed closer to the mountain at Stowe in the past but loved being 2 blocks from the gorgeous downtown, a quick walk to all the shops and off course Black Cap cage and bakery! We are hoping to come back soon!

About the host

This is my second family home. I also live in the UK where I am updating an old 1840s house in a small village in Kent.

Why they chose this property

I have a huge history with Stowe. My first visit was in 1996 with my husband and 3 small daughters. We continue to visit as a family, there have been marriage proposals and we all have many good memories. I also have family in Canada and New York so an ideal base for visiting those areas too.

What makes this property unique

Twinkly white lights in winter surrounded by snow....a truly magical experience.
