Romantic Rural Retreat With Aga, Woodburner, Bespoke 4 Poster Bed, Roll Top Bath

Overview

Property

Updated: 05-Dec-2016
Cottage Sleeping 2 (plus Baby Room): 1 Kingsize Four Poster, Large Bathroom

Retreat to a hidden corner of Cumbria, between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. This gorgeous holiday cottage is a stylish and sumptuous place from which to explore the Cumbrian landscape. A champagne hamper marks the start of a great getaway.

We are pleased to introduce the new self-catering cottage here at A Corner of Eden - it's a heavenly retreat for couples. A cosy little hideaway with a stunning private walled garden on one side and the perfect sun set patio for evening drinks on the other.

The two spacious rooms downstairs offer a chance to escape from busy lives, you can experiment with new recipes on the claret red Aga then snuggle up on the sofa in front of the wood burner with a treat from your own mini Honesty Bar. This can be found in the small cold pantry which is perfect for all your food & drink storage. You can also buy some of our own home made produce - jams, chutneys, damson gin and eggs from our own hens.

At the top of the ancient stone stairs there's a stunning changing room with dressing table & wardrobe set against beautiful oak stud framed wall, behind which is the bathroom to die for - with a ruby red double ended roll top cast iron bath and separate shower. Take time to light the candles and relax, then pop on the fluffy robes whilst you glam yourselves up in the adjacent changing room. Wandering through to the oversized bedroom you'll find a handmade oak four poster bed just waiting to jumped in to and a view through the window that goes on for 35 miles, as the crow flies, all the way to Blencathra in the Lakes.

A couples champagne welcome hamper awaits, with home made bread, home made cake, and local chocolates amongst the goodies inside.

The kitchen is fully equipped, just like at home, but if you fancy a night off then wander across the fields to the Fat Lamb Inn, a traditional country pub serving great food, it takes just 10 minutes! There's another 2 excellent pubs in the local village of Ravenstonedale, just 3 miles away.

Prices start from £600 per week to £800 in high season and short breaks from £400 - £500 for a weekend or mid-week stay.

If you are looking to stay with a large group, we can accommodate 8 guests in The Farmhouse which has a secret connecting door, and another 6 more Angel Barn next door. Groups of 16 welcome!
