The Gatehouse Apartment is situated in the historic grounds of the magnificent and tranquil Chiswick House and Gardens. The apartment overlooks a large privately manicured garden, which can be enjoyed by all. Recent renovations to the property provide a light and airy space, with large windows that overlook the garden from all rooms. The property is set up to accommodate 3 (plus crib) comfortably, or 4 guests with a pull out bed. The main bedroom has a king size bed dressed in Spanish linen and a newly refurbished en-suite. The second bedroom is situated downstairs and can accommodate two single beds. There is a family bathroom with a shower and bathtub. The living space is open plan, and is showered in natural light. The kitchen is fully equipped for the chef in all of us.
Guests will have access to the the entire space for the duration of their stay, along with use of the large manicured garden and a secure parking bay for a single car.
We will greet all guests on their arrival, providing them with a tour of the apartment and the grounds of the property. During this time we will be happy to answer any questions the guests may have regarding the apartment or the area. We are more than happy to provide recommendations during your stay, however we have put together a guide of the area for your use.

My family and I stumbled across Chiswick over 2 years ago and little did we know we were finding ourselves in one of the most beautiful and magical parts of London. We are spoilt for choice with the Thames River and all it has to offer just nearby, Chiswick House and it's amazing garden and cafe to enjoy throughout the year, the High Road with all the great shops and restaurants just down the street and London a mere 20 minutes away. We love the outdoors, therefore having the Thames River just 5 minutes down the road we find ourselves running or bike riding along the river most weekends with our two kids. We too are avid travellers and love to explore the unknown. We go out of our way to find neighbourhoods that may not be on the tourist trail but allow us to pretend for a couple of days, a week or more that we too are a local and that is what we hope The Gatehouse offers you on your short stay in London.

My family and I adore travelling, and we are very particular about the places we choose to rest our heads and call home, when we are away from home. It has always been a dream of mine to create a space that I can share with others, knowing that it has all the little details that guests should be able to enjoy when they area away from home! The Gatehouse is a calming space for those who are on business and want more than a hotel; it is large enough for a small family without feeling like everyone is living on top of each other, and it offers the charm for any couple wanting a romantic getaway…it truly is a home for everyone!
What makes this apartment unique
The location of The Gatehouse is what makes it so magical. To be nestled in a Heritage House Gardens, whilst being so close to Central London is a truly unique experience. Whilst being close to London, The Gatehouse also offers easy access to some fantastic day trips outside of London, such as Windsor Castle (25 minutes away by car), The Cotswolds (1hr 20 min away by car) or Oxford (1hr away by car or 1hr away by train) just to name a few.

Fantastic flat, fantastic location
Our family of four stayed in Caroline's flat for five nights. First, the location in Chiswick is wonderful. It's a short walk to the Turnham Green underground station on the high street. Along the route you'll find wonderful places to eat, as well as grocery stores to stock the flat's kitchen. Caroline is full of recommendations for great local eateries. From Turnham Green it's a short tube ride into Central London, as well as to Heathrow. The flat itself sits on the site of the historic Chiswick House and Garden. We walked through the grounds with lots of dog walkers, talked to some friendly locals, and let the kids play at the playground. This was a wonderful way to experience London, and we hope we can return some day. Communication with Caroline was flawless. This place is a treasure.
This is a great choice for London with easy access to everything you need. Our family of four stayed for ten nights. Apartment is new, clean and well furnished. It's about a 12 minute easy walk to underground/bus stops which take you anywhere you want to go in London. Approximately 40 minutes by bus or underground (or 10 minutes by Taxi) to Paddington Station where you can take trains to sites outside of London. 20 minute taxi ride to Heathrow. 10 minute walk to Chiswick High Road and many shops/markets. Renting a car not needed as the public transport in London is exceptional. Nice grounds around the apartment and a beautiful park just a short walk from the apartment.
I stayed in Caroline's apartment with my mum, my husband and our 5 year old girl. We picked this place because we have friends in Chiswick and wanted to be near them.
The flat is great! Clean, comfortable and has everything one might need. Caroline was very kind and non-intrusive; provided very clear instructions on how to get there and checked that we had everything we needed.
I would definitely stay there again.
Wonderful little place in Chiswick!
This Flat is really nice, clean and comfortable... Our bed was very comfortable. The place was very clean upon arrival (this is most important to us). The Manager, Caroline, was so kind and easy to work with. The kitchen was well supplied and everything worked well. We were able to wash some clothes in the little washing machine so when we left we had some nice clean clothes! The flat is located about a 10 minute walk to the Chiswick High Rd. where there a so many wonderful restaurants, pubs and stores. Pick up some groceries at M & S. Great selection of everything you need! IF it is late the Tesco is open till midnight for that quick pick up of milk and eggs! It is about 15-20 minutes to walk to the Turnham Green Station that will take you EASILY into London to see the sites. There is a great garden lawn to look out on while sipping you coffee or tea in the morning and planning your day.
A few things to consider...it is located near a busy road so you will hear a bit of road noise not terrible in any way but noticeable for sure if your sensitive to that. You have to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the front door, which is no big deal unless you have any physical problems.
To sum it up we loved this flat. It is as the pictures show and you cannot beat the location to have a safe and cute neighborhood to come home to after being in busy London site seeing all day. We will be back!
Delightful B&B in prime location
We really enjoyed our four days in Caroline's apartment. The rooms were clean and beds delicious. The location was tops - lovely Cheswick streets and an easy walk to underground or nearby restaurants (highly recommend the Black Lion pub on the Thames). We explored the city daily and came back to the peace and quiet of the apartment's surrounding gardens and park. A perfect combination of frantic London and charming Cheswick. Would easily stay again!

close to Chiswick high street and only 20 mins from central London by. Car. Easy access to public transport. Definitely will stay here next time I come to London. Well suited for families.

It is nestled in Chiswick House & Gardens, a heritage site that is regarded as one of the finest in England, therefore making your stay a truly unique experience. A 5 minute walk from the apartment can lead you to: The Thames River, where you can go for a lovely stroll or jog along the paved path and stop in at one of the old riverside pubs; Chiswick High Road, which is jam packed with great restaurants and shopping; Hogarth House, which is the former residence of the 18th-century English artist William Hogarth and of course easy access to Central London via the tube, overground and bus.

- Both bathrooms have recently been renovated to the highest specifications. The shower in the en-suite is large with a lovely big shower head and baths can be enjoyed in the second bathroom. The bathrooms are stocked with fragrant hand soap, body wash and shampoo and there is a hair-dryer available in both bathrooms for the guests use.

- Second Bedroom - 1 Single Bed, Can accommodate a cot or another single trundle bed.
- The main bedroom has a king size bed dressed in beautiful Spanish Linen, with a quality mattress. Depending on your preferences we your bed can be made up either with a Duvet or with a blanket. The room has a massive window that looks onto the gardens and a newly renovated en-suite with a large shower. There are two large built-in cupboards in the room, which offer plenty of space to unpack your bags and feel right at home. We have also recently created storage for empty suitcases so that they do not clutter the bedroom and take away from the serenity of the space. The Second Bedroom, is located on the second floor and offers a single bed, again dressed in Spanish Linen. This room can accommodate another single trundle bed (at a squeeze). The manicured gardens can be enjoyed from the bed through a large window. There is a cupboard in this room allowing for bags to be unpacked. Empty suitcases can be stored in the storage area in the main bedroom.
