Venice has six districts, known as “sestieri”. Cannaregio is the most populated districted after the one of Castello. It includes the entire northern part of the city all the way to Campo SS. Giovanni e Paolo, extending from the train station to almost the Rialto Bridge. In this district, you find the Venetian Ghetto, the oldest Jewish ghetto in the world, still inhabited today by a very prominent and active Jewish community.
