Self contained holiday let with large garden and excellent views over the Moor

The Walkers Retreat is a very cosy, clean and quiet holiday let with large garden to walk around in and great views to admire. There is free secured parking and the Walkers Retreat has it's own private entrance.

The Walkers Retreat has a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, electric hob and oven. The living area has a comfortable reclining chair and sofa. Free view television with DVD player magazines and a varied range of books are available. The bedroom has a super king size bed and wardrobe. A toilet with small basin is next to the bedroom and the shower room is downstairs. There is a washing/dryer machine and iron facilities. We provide fresh bedlinen, towels, bathrobes, detergents and shower gels all free of charge.

On arrival we provide fresh milk and eggs from our local milk farm in Scoriton. There will also be coffee, tea and sugar, etc. We try our utmost to keep the Walkers Retreat facilities to a high standard. The living/kitchen area has been freshly painted in January 2017. You can make use of your own outdoor terrace and we have also several wooden benches spread out in the garden for you to use and enjoy the views. Located in Dartmoor National Park makes it's possible to start walks from the property onto the Moor or to the River Dart.

We very much welcome dogs at the Walkers Retreat (max. 2 dogs). One dog will be free of charge and for two dogs we charge £10 per stay.

About Samantha and Alex Salmon

We moved to Ashton Court in August 2014 with our two daughters and feel very much at home in our house and in the Holne village. Our daughters love to play in the garden and bicycle over the quiet small lanes. Samantha is Dutch, and lives in England for over ten years. Alex is from London and both we enjoy very much the country live in Devon. From our home and garden we enjoy the Moor views every day in all kinds of weather and enjoy family walks over the Moor and having lunch in one of the cosy Moor pubs/ restaurants. We very much like being part of the Holne village and it gives us a real community feeling. Our daughters love to play in the playpark down the lane or cycle to the village shop to get some groceries. Also kite flying in the summer is a great event.

We very much welcome dogs at the Walkers Retreat (max. 2 dogs). One dog will be free of charge and for two dogs we charge £10 per stay.

The Community Village shop/ Tearoom is excellent for late breakfast, lunch, tea and cakes. The shop is well stocked up with a range of mainly local products. The Trademans Arms pub in Scoriton, which is only a short 5 min. drive away, is perfect for easy dinner or drinks. Also the lovely newly opened pub The Forest Inn in Hexworthy is 10 minutes away located on the Moor. There are many other excellent pubs/ restaurants in the area, all about 10 to 20 minutes drive away. Dartmoor is on our doorstep and easy accessible by car (5 minutes) or walks can be made from the property. The ancient Hembury Woods is 10 minutes away and offers beautiful walks along the River Dart. Also a few excellent beaches are only 40 minutes drive away. Totnes market town with its many independent shops is worth a visit and also the student town of Exeter with its historical cathedral is a must.
