The Historic Gold Town of Mariposa with its quaint shops, restaurants, wine tasting from local Vineyards, History Museum and The California State Mining and Mineral Museum are all less than 15 minutes away.

Perfect getaway

Ideal location, very quite and we were surrounded by trees, occasional wild lives like turkeys and deer. The house is massive, well stocked and felt homely.

Amazing

We had a truly wonderful relaxing time in Mariposa. The Cabin is lovely with beautiful surroundings and has the added benefit of a hot tub.The location is great for visiting Yosemite and the town of Mariposa is great and has all the facilities that we needed. Restaurants, supermarket and petrol station. I would thoroughly recommend to my family and friends. We have come home with lovely memories

Winter’s stay

This is our third stay at this comfortable cabin, in a quiet wooded hillside. One hour’s drive to Yosemite Valley (El Portal entrance). Nice amenities - hot tub, wood burning fireplace (wood stove), kitchen that opens to the dining and living area, high ceilings. Great for a cozy winter stay! Great communication with the host.

Nice clean house

It is a quite neighborhood. The house is clean and had all the essential items for cooking. We saw a deer in the night. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Awesome place! In the middle of no were but perfect for visiting Yosemite. The kitchen is equipped with most everything, which is what we want - we don't care to eat out while on vacation and hiking. The deck needs some maintenance but other than that it was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again if we are ever in the area.

Kathleen and Alex moved to Midpines 21 years ago to enjoy the natural beauty of the area and spend as much time in Yosemite as possible. Kathleen is an Architectural Designer and specializes in Straw Bale Home design. She is also very busy raising twin teenage boys. Alex is a trained Engineer and teaches mathematics at the local public High School.

This property is designed so nicely nestled in the oaks with nature. Deer often roaming, relaxing and resting in the meadow below the deck.

Our secluded oak retreat is incredible for enjoying sunsets, star gazing, wild flowers and bird watching all from the comfort of the deck, hot tub, or large windows in the living-room.
This custom home was designed by a local designer with lots of special details. The open beam ceiling, gable windows and skylights allows the home to feel light and spacious.
