About this property

A Home From Home At The Crossroads Of The Scottish Highlands.

A spacious lounge with log/coal fire and views across the glen leads into the hallway to access the very large, recently installed kitchen and dining room. There is a shower room with WC and wash-hand basin and a separate bathroom with shower, wash-hand basin & WC. We also have three bedrooms, a king, a double and a twin room. Off the kitchen is the utility room with laundry and drying equipment. Outside, the garden separates the property from the forest and shields the house from the road.

Stayed here with my parents, husband and daughter. We all agreed it was a perfect spot and the house was excellent. Really enjoyed the cosy home! Would go back again! Loved it!

Well located holiday home
The property was in a good location for travelling to places, Fort William, Fort Augustus, Isle of Skye. All what you need in the kitchen, although a little on the dark side as the sun streamed into the front of the property where the sitting room was situated. One of the sofas was a little 'tired', but plenty of books, games at if needed. Bathrooms and bedrooms fine and in good working order. Utility goods were top spec. and excellent and easy to use.

Lovely place in a lovely area!!
Lovely place in a lovely area. Perfect for discovering the Highlands and isle of Skye. It's a long drive (another 3hrs from Glasgow) but worth it. Property has everything you need and hosts could not have been more accommodating.

Beautifully clean and central to the Highlands
We had a superb week at the Beeches. The property is immaculate and well appointed. From reading the welcome folder I think its a family home that has been let out as a holiday property. It retains that lovely home from home feel, not modern but cosy and comfortable. Its ideal for exploring the Isle of Skye, the Caledonian Canal, Great Glen Way, Fort William and out to Mallaig....all within reach for a day trip. Its tucked away behind another house, but is not overlooked at all, surrounded by woodland it feels private. The owners are super helpful and communications excellent. The bungalow is dog friendly and has a little garden at the back which is thoughtfully fenced off. We would definitely recommend and return.

Holiday at the The Beeches
We had a wonderful week staying at The Beeches, Invergarry. The property was everything we had hoped for, clean and well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Plenty of lovely walks nearby, even saw red squirrels from the bedroom window! Looking forward to returning for another stay.

About the host

Hosted by Mike & Ros @ The Beeches

Host profile image
We both grew up in Scotland, Ros in Aberdeen while I started off in Dundee then spending my teens in the eastern Highlands. After I'd moved to Aberdeen, Mum's career took her to this more southerly area of the Highlands. While she worked here and after she retired, we visited frequently, as much to enjoy the peace and quiet as to have a family catch-up.

Why they chose this property

So, when Mum decided that she needed something smaller, we settled on holiday lets as the ideal way to keep our connection with the village and share it with other visitors who have enjoyed the area as much as us.

While we've visited many far-flung corners of the globe, there's nothing like the grandeur of the Scottish Highlands or the welcoming hospitality to be found here. Yes it rains, a lot, but the ever-changing moods of the glens and mountain-sides, not to mention good waterproofs, make it so worthwhile.

What makes this property unique

For 31 years now, we've watched the birds and squirrels feed on the rowan tree by the front window, hiked up to Loch Lundie behind the house through all all kinds of weather and enjoyed a warm welcome in the village and hotel.

Hidden from the road and perched up high, the house is a tranquil oasis with views across he glen. You can spend the day sight-seeing, bagging Munro's or ambling around the glen. Whichever takes your fancy, you can look back on it as you sit in front of a roaring fire or in the group-friendly kitchen-dining room.
