"THE OLD WINERY CANET D'AUDE" is a very recently restored sympathetic renovation of a 350 square metre, 200 year old Wine and Brandy making Factory and Storage Warehouse.

This very special holiday home would really suit family groups who appreciate a Historical Wine Property but brought right up to date with every modern convenience.

It is set within Vineyards and close to all the usual Village facilities, The Canal Du Midi at Ventenac with its choice of Restaurants and Castle Winery is under a mile away, The City of Narbonne just 20 minutes away and its choice of Quality Sandy Beaches beyond - Then to Gruissan where we think the best beaches are, in about 30 mins.

The property provides spacious accommodation for 8 Adults / Children in 4 Double Bedrooms with Splittable Beds + Babies in Cots.

The Old Winery is located on the very edge of the thriving village of Canet d'Aude (11200) and is accessed via a Private Drive, via its own Vineyard, Fields and Apple Orchard.

To the front of the Winery is a Raised Wooden Decked area over a Trout Bearing Stream - This functions superbly for Al Fresco Dining with its exterior Table and Chairs, As a Sun Terrace with Designer Grey Fabric / Aluminium Sun Beds and Sun Shade Canopy, Flowing Entertaining Space with uninterrupted views over the Infinity Style Pool, BBQ Garden Kitchen Building, Large Mature Garden, Vineyards and the beautiful Mountains in the far distance - There is immediate access to 11 Acres of adjacent land where Horses graze quietly and many further Vineyards with gravel roads with public access for walking and biking beyond.

The property enjoys use of its own exclusive use Pool (Good for cooling off on those very hot Summer days) set within the raised Wooden Decked Terrace with its far reaching views.

From the Terrace there is a Large Open Plan Modern Kitchen accessed via two sets of French Doors.

Once inside, there is a Long Traditional Wooden Dining Table with Wicker Chairs for 8/10 - This table can be added to for Dinner Parties, making full use of this very large dual Interior/ Exterior Entertaining Space.

The recently fully refurbished French Style Country Kitchen is equipped with an Large American Style Ice Making Fridge / Freezer, 5 Ring Gas Hob with Ventilation Hood and Double Timer Operated Electric Oven, New Dishwasher, 28 Inch White Satellite and Technology Friendly Flat Screen TV, DVD Collection + All the usual quality cooking utensils and equipment.

We have an 'Honesty Wine Cellar', so that you may enjoy a selection of the very best wines of the Languedoc region.

There is a 5 Person Sofa for chilling out on while dinner is being cooked…..Or for keeping an eye on younger children whilst cooking.

Off the Kitchen there is a Utility Room with Washing Machine / Pressing Facilities (Iron / Ironing Board), Clothes Horse, Large Sink for washing swimming costumes and a convenient WC.

Upstairs is a spacious double height / vaulted open plan Sitting Area / Salon, Wall Fixed TV Where its possible (with your correct connection lead) to play streamed movies from your iPad / Laptop etc. - L Shaped Pull Out Sofa and Designer Barcelona Chair providing the space for everyone to relax.

Monopoly and Selection of contemporary Books.

Access then via Double French Doors to the Exterior Shady Balcony, with set of Cafe Style Table and Chairs with commanding views over the gardens and beyond.

Within, accessed via Double Oak Sliding Doors is the Principal Master Bedroom with its very trendy ensuite Bathroom, Walk Through Shower, Double Sinks and WC - This room has windows that open onto the exterior balcony.

Upstairs on the Mezzanine Level there are 3 Further separate Bedrooms with a shared Family Size Shower Room with Double Sinks and WC.

The very top floor has 'Pay as you go' Air Conditioning and electrically operated Velux Windows for additional light and ventilation.

About Jay and Melanie Jeary

We previously lived in the South of England, where it was easy to take Eurotunnel or the Ferry for day trips...Or the yearly two eek holiday into France or beyond...

....But those trips were never long enough....

And so now we live here, and absolutely love it !

We love this place

This is the second time we have stayed here and have no doubt we will return again. The house is beautifully decorated to a very high standard and extremely comfortable. It is very well equipped including access to an all important stash of local wines. We have two teenage daughters who spent most of the fortnight in the lovely pool and on the decking. A nice local pizza restaurant is a 5 minute walk away plus you can also take a very pleasant longer walk of 30 minutes or so to 2 other local restaurants if you want a change. There is a gas bbq in the gardens if you prefer an evening on the decking. This is perfect for a base if you want to explore the region but we were more than happy spending most of our fortnight on the property because we were all so relaxed and happy there.

French Barn Property -near Sea and Vineyards!

We really enjoyed our family holiday here with our young children. Plenty to visit and a village full of amenities -Bakers, Butchers, Bar and village food store.

The children enjoyed the pool and terrace and the various toys that were provided with the Winery. The weather was lovely....sunshine every day! Lovely restaurants too nearby !

Thank you for your help Jay and Melanie, and for making our trip so special. We will recommend your property to our friends.

Stunning Barn style Old Winery

A fabulous stay in this barn style Old Winery - with old beams and modern features. Wonderful beds, showers and a great pool and terrace.

Walks to the vineyards, Canal du Midi and trips to the beaches and Narbonne were great holiday activities.

The village is great too, with a boulangerie, bar du sport, mini supermarket and post office etc....all within walking distance of the property. Also a park with slides and swings for our children.

Thank you for a fabulous stay and we will come again !

The Old Winery - near beaches, sea and vineyards.

We really enjoyed our stay here for my mother's 70th Birthday. The family came together from different sides of the world and spent a relaxing time together.

Carcasonne was a lovely day trip, the castle was amazing.

The house is great with all modern comforts and a pool and fabulous sun terrace.

Melanie and Jay were more than accommodating....Thank you so much. We will look into returning next Summer as we have had such fun exploring this area of France.

Wonderful old French Winery - in the vineyards

A fantastically beautiful house in a fantastic location! Wonderful pool, large comfortable beds, and lovely showers in a spacious well designed Old Winery.

We loved the countryside and Narbonne in general. We are leaving very relaxed, but sad to be leaving! The beaches at Gruissan were great and the Cafe du Port restaurant along the Canal du Midi!

Melanie and Jay.....We really enjoyed our week at The Old Winery. We loved Carcasonne, Pezenas, Collioure ....The house is great, very spacious and it is clear that lots of love and attention has been invested in it. We wish we had more time here and are very happy we found the Old Winery.
