The history of this charming castle goes back to the Fresse de Monval family and to Admiral de Villeneuve, opponent of Nelson and unfortunate hero of Trafalgar. Jeanne Bonaparte, Napoleon's little niece, through her marriage to the Marquis Christian de Villeneuve became the beautiful daughter of the owners at the time. She often stayed in vacation resorts in these places. Three rooms and two suites with a historic theme are available. The castle is located on the edge of the village of Valensole, a typical Haute Provence village renowned for its lavender, not far from the famous Gorges du Verdon, Moustiers Sainte Marie and the swimming lakes. This incomparable and mountainous region is rich in hiking trails along which you can get drunk with the sweet scents of Haute Provence. You will have free access to the relaxation area, under the almost bicentennial chestnut tree, where garden tables and sun loungers are distributed. The parking space is secured at night by the entrance gate.
You have made the choice to come here to forget your daily constraints and worries and abandon yourself to the calm and poetry of these places steeped in history. This is why, as in most castles and manors, you will not find the television in your room but only the free WiFi access.
