Overview

About the property

Panoramic view, exceptional hosts, luxury accommodation.

The view from your South facing balcony will never disappoint. In winter, the snow covered mountains will draw you to enjoy them. In Spring, you will wake to startlingly clear days of intense green in the valley and snow covered peaks above. In Summer, the heat and the fresh air mean al fresco dining is at it's peak and in Autumn, the colour of the trees will rival that for which New England is so famous. This is just one aspect which makes our chalet so exceptional.

Your luxury bedroom has it's own fully equipped bathroom and comfortable balcony to enjoy the views. There are 5 individual bedrooms and 1 suite (2 bedrooms and a shared bathroom) available.

The bedrooms all have comfortable king size beds, luxury down duvets, egyptian cotton sheets, more than enough pillows, plenty of storage and their own television. The en-suite bathrooms are fully appointed, with plenty of towels which are renewed regularly, bathrobes, slippers and good quality hair driers.

Elsewhere in the chalet you will find a number of places to relax - there is a dedicated tv/film room with a Moroccan theme, an oudoor hot tub on the large South facing terrace (in winter) a heated pool in the summer which we generally like to keep at 32 degrees, large South facing gardens, a 'petanque' pitch.....

The boutique chalet has a contemporary feel that still retains the Alpine charm - a large, informal living area with plenty of comfortable sofas is the home of the evening's activities. Cocktails will be served here or on the terrace if it is warm enough - or even in the hot tub if you prefer! In the summer, we have an outside bar and a heated pool as alternative locations to enjoy your aperetif.

In winter, we offer a catered service, included in the rate, which includes breakfast each day, afternoon snack and a 4 course dinner , served 5 nights a week served around our comfortable table seating up to 14. The food is fresh, delicious, sourced locally and essentially French at it's heart, but with the personal attention of our team, you will never be disappointed.

To accompany your meal, we have prepared an exceptional wine list covering a wide price range from which you can make your choice.

We will organise all aspects of your holiday in winter, from the transfer from the airport - either by helicopter or private minibus, purchase of lift passes, organisation of ski hire, reservation of restaurants, massages (available at the chalet) and any other activities.

In essence, we are motivated by your enjoyment - our aim is that you will not only be looked after with detailed care, but that you will leave our boutique Chalet with memories for a lifetime and a passion to return.

Stellar!

  • 5 of 5

I would not have dreamed of a more excellent stay than the one we experienced in Chalet with Altitude. Not only is the chalet spotless, brand new, functional and tastefully decorated, but the generosity of the owners is unparalleled. Fred, Catherine and the team went way further than the extra mile for us and welcomed us in their home with heaps of warmness and hospitality. The food was delicious and so were the wines, the service perfect, the ambiance fantastic. We arrived as clients and left as friends. Thank you, Fred and Catherine for this memorable birthday, we will certainly be back! Christiana, Blake and the gang.

May be the best vacation stay EVER!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we pulled up (tho it is tricky finding the chalet - even with GPS) we knew we had found a small piece of heaven! Warmly greeted by proprietors Catherine and Fred, we instantly felt both at home and at the most luxurious, upscale inn. My family (2-60 somethings and 3-20/30 somethings) chose to book the entire property for 5 nights. All of the bedrooms have incredible views and their own private balcony from which to enjoy them. With terry robes and slippers for each guest, private bedroom suites and well appointed bathrooms, there really isn't anything to do but sit back and enjoy all the chalet and the area have to offer. To that end, Steffan, the on-site chef/property manager, and now bon ami, made sure we wanted for nothing! The breakfasts were bountiful with French products - flaky croissants with creamy butter and jams, fresh baguettes, fruit, eggs made to order with bacon, yoghurt and cereal, cheeses and a Nespresso machine for which Steffan made hot, foamy milk for capuccinos. Not a bad way to start any day! We experienced a fun-for-the-whole-family white water rafting afternoon, coordinated by a company Catherine suggested, and then two separate 1/2 day mountain hikes - one in the Samoens region which again, Catherine and Steffan suggested and then arranged a reservation for lunch at the refuge which was the perfect 1/2 way break providing a true Savoyard culinary experience, and wonderful COLD beer! Hard to hike down after that! The next day we climbed a trail at Merlet for exquisite views of Mt. Blanc and then went into Chamonix centre for dinner and a walk around the bustling town. The rest of our time was happily spent at the chalet, in the pool (heated perfectly), the hot tub, or just relaxing with the quintessential French wines and cheeses taking in the views or walking around the charming Samoens centre. Steffan prepared 2 delicious dinners for us, including wines he selected (which were matched perfectly with the food and reasonably priced) and even had "waitstaff" so we didn't need to lift a finger. We throroughly enjoyed Steffan's company (and his dog Shindu and Catherine's cat Sambuca whose relationship provides hours of entertainment). It was just the right amount of time on our own and having Steffan available for whatever we needed.....and for French lessons! Our only regret is that we didn't book the full week! Merci bien Catherine, Fred et Steffan. A bientot!

Top class chalet in The Grand Massif, Samoens

  • 5 of 5

This new chalet has a superb view of The Grand Massif and easy access to Samoens and Flaine ski areas. We had luxurious accommodation and loads of excellent food. So, with the excellent service from delightful owners, we can truly say it is the best place we have ever stayed, not only in our many trips to pretty Samoens but also in any other ski chalet through the French Alps. Frances, (CH)

Samoens - a charming and historic French Alpine village, located only 1 hour from Geneva. In winter, most of the action is on the 265km of pistes that form the Grand Massif ski area and link the villages of Samoens, Morillon, Les Carroz, Sixt and Flaine. A 15 minute drive around the corner gives you access to the Portes du Soleil at Les Gets and Morzine.

Whether you are a beginner, expert, snowboarder or off-piste adventurer, you will find that Samoens and it's ski area will not disappoint.

With tucked away mountain restaurants, beautiful views of Mt Blanc and magical scenery at every turn you will be hard pressed to take it all in.

Many other winter activities are available such as snow shoeing, ski joering, ice skating, fine wines and dining and winter markets.

Alternatively, if you are looking for a little more adventure, then why not try a bit of Heliskiing in Italy, a tandem parapont jump, or take a guide with you on a ski touring day, ice climbing or the descent of the Vallee Blanche.

If time is limited, then Samoens is the ideal place for a weekend tour where we can organise everything for you so that you can profit from every moment that you have.

Summer activities are no less adventurous - white water rafting, cycling on and off road, riding, walking, hire wire adventure, climbing, via ferrata to name but a few.

At the end of the day - returning back to our Chalet with Altitude, you can relax, glass in hand, either in the hot tub (winter) or the heated pool (summer), reflecting on the day's events and basking in the wonderful, panoramic view.
