We had a wonderful week's skiing in Avoriaz and the apartment was (almost) perfect for us. It is in a great location, only a few minutes away from the Welcome Centre where the ski buses drop you off. We arrived after midnight and were relived that we didn't have to struggle too far in the snow. The apartment has spacious accommodation, apart from the small bunk room that doesn't have any storage. It has lovely lounge and dining areas and a small but adequate kitchen. The balcony runs all along the floor to ceiling windows and the whole apartment is light and airy.
It has a large basement with sauna, utility room, storage, boot warmer and bath/shower room. My only criticism is that there should be an additional toilet in here. There is only one communal toilet just off the lounge (!). The other toilet is in the en-suite.
Location wise, it is right next to a nursery slope (with drag, great for kids) and a gentle blue run to a lift that will take you to the top of the town and onwards.
Falaise is a quiet part of Avoriaz, the main part of town with the majority of shops, restaurants and children's ski school is down the hill, around 5 minutes away. As mentioned by another reviewer, this does make the home journey with young children hard work. We hired a couple of sledges and did the heavy lifting. There is a supermarket, shops, a couple of restaurants and ski hire shops in Falaise though, it is very well served. It is a true ski-in ski-out apartment, as it is on the ground floor with its own entrance. Look for the large '66' on the Saskia Building in Street View, the front door is right next to it.
