Overview

Property

Updated: 01-Dec-2016
Luxurious villa with 4 bedrooms next to the vineyards and pine woods

Your Perfect Getaway

Villa Lapidea (280 m2) is set independently within its own lawned garden (2.500 m2) and large swimming pool (11 x 5 m), just outside the small local village, amongst peaceful countryside, next to the vineyards and pine woods, only five minutes from the medieval town of Motovun (Montona). Nestled between a quiet forest and idyllic green hills, it offers a chance to relax and connect with nature. For those who want to be always on the move, the surrounding countryside provides a great venue for hiking and biking. Close to all main transport infrastructures it is also an excellent starting point for exploring the region. Families, romantic couples as well as groups of friends will enjoy this vacation charmer as their second home.

Mediterranean-style villa was designed to provide guests with seductive comfort. A large living room with an open fireplace breathes warmth and hospitality. Four peaceful double bedrooms have incredible views and guarantee a good night rest. Villa features three modern and clean bathrooms which allow guests to refresh after a day’s adventures. Fully equipped kitchen with an elegant dining room provides all that is necessary for a satisfying eating experience. Rooms are characterised by high ceilings, highlighting the spacious and bright villa’s interior.

Intelligent use of wood, stone and plants creates a natural feel to the villa and its exterior. Facility is enclosed by a beautiful landscaped garden with ornamental trees, aromatic herbs and an all-season display of blooming flowers. Garden boasts a private swimming pool, a welcome respite in the heat of the day. An outdoor dining and lounge area with a separate lodge for grilling will transform the villa into a true party paradise. Villa is maintained weekly by a house cleaner, a gardener and a pool cleaner.

Mediterranean at Its Best

Northernmost Mediterranean peninsula was historically part of many different empires, each contributing to a unique blend of rich cultural tradition that remains vibrant to this day. Istrian sentiment is complemented by unspoiled nature, characterised by dynamic shores of the glittering Adriatic Sea and a lush inland landscape with magnificent scenery. Blue sea and green nature are

contrasted by white stone of small medieval towns adorning hilltops and the coastline.

Lively resorts provide numerous possibilities for recreation and are among the most popular travel destinations. Diverse beaches feature picturesque bays, coves and capes with gravel and white pebbles. Some of them are still wild and untamed, hidden away from noise and tourist crowds. Countryside is marked with charming rolling hills embraced by vineyards and olive groves. A large part of the peninsula is covered with fragrant pine forests, casting soothing shadows on a hot summer’s day.

Most impressive Istrian natural monument is the National park Brijuni, a group of islands on the West coast renowned for their rich biodiversity and many protected species. Since the beginning of their tourist history Brijuni islands have served as a vacation hot-spot for the European aristocracy. They were later also chosen as a summer residence for the former Yugoslav and subsequent Croatian presidents.

Region offers something for all tastes. It is ideal for all cultural explorers, lovers of gastronomical pleasures, people with an active lifestyle and also for those who just want to relax. The Mediterranean climate with moderately hot summers and mild winters acts beneficially and improves the wellbeing of visitors. All this makes Istria a perfect destination for holidays and longer vacations all year round.

Gastronomical Delights

Satisfy your taste buds with original Istrian cuisine, prepared according to traditional recipes. Istrian food is based on locally produced ingredients, seasonal vegetables, fresh seafood, spices, and olive oil.

For first time sampling, try a typical local dish, which includes any of the different kinds of pasta, prosciutto and sheep cheese. Delicacies with high quality Istrian truffles or wild asparagus are also much appreciated and will inspire even the most demanding connoisseurs.

Istrian geographic position with rich soil, abundance of sunlight and mild climate creates the perfect conditions for producing top quality wines. Toast to your health with the fine white Malvazija or deep red Teran wines.

Body and Mind Activities

Fresh air and clean nature are ideal for all kinds of outdoor activities. Visit any of the Istrian beach resorts to take a swim in the Adriatic Sea or simply lie back and enjoy the warm sunshine and gentle coastal breezes. Wake up the adventurer in you and discover hidden bays and coves by sailing or canoeing. Sports enthuisasts will appreciate the range of recreational facilities for golf, tennis, volleyball and other sports in all main tourist centres. The seaside is also an excellent choice for all fishers and birdwatchers.

Explorers of nature will fall in love with Brijuni National Park. Discover rare Mediterranean flowers and plants, observe animals in the safari park or take photos of the marine wildlife while scuba diving. Experience hiking, jogging, biking or horse riding along the many winding roads and paths in the Istrian countryside. Mount Učka Nature Park will provide you with opportunities for freeclimbing, paragliding and hang gliding. The favourable Istrian climate also enables flying in hot air balloons all year round.

Wander the narrow alleys of medieval towns admiring impressive churches, museums, lovely little art galleries and fine examples of Venetian-style architecture. Don’t miss the famous 6th century Euphrasian Basilica in Poreč with its beautiful gold mosaics or the Arena of Pula, one of the three best preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world. Enjoy the rich Istrian cultural life and visit one of the numerous festivals taking place throughout the year, ranging from folk music and dance to contemporary art and literature.

Wow, wow, wow

We absolutely love this villa. From the first enquiry to checking out, Matjaz was efficient, friendly, helpful and he made sure we were happy with everything and also took the time to recommend restaurants and places to visit.

Just my husband and I stayed here for a week from the 2nd - 9th October 2016 so we had plenty of room! The villa is beautifully decorated with everything you could need, it's a real home from home. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 downstairs and two master bedrooms upstairs, all with wall mounted TV's, plenty of wardrobe space, air conditioning and super comfy bed. We loved the new games room with it's pool table, darts, PS3 and own little bar area and shower room, it's a perfect addition if you are holidaying with or without children. Unfortunately due to the weather, we didn't use the pool as it was too cold but the garden area and outside bbq area are superb.

The villa is located in a very quiet area but only a few kilometers from the Fakin Winery which is perfect if you enjoy a glass or 2 of wine and a short drive from the village of Motovun.

We have two villa holidays per year and this is, by far, THE best villa we have stayed in. It's very comfortable and well equipped and wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this villa to anybody.

We visited Rovinj, Opatija and even drove through Slovenia to Italy for a day trip to Venice (about a 3 hour drive).

Thank you Matjaz and Branco for amazing holiday, we will see you again in the future.

Gorgeous Villa - Better than the pictures

  • 5 of 5

Our family (3 adults and 4 children) has just returned from seven days in this villa in Croatia and I had to pry them out of the house when it came time to depart. I have rented from Homeaway before in Europe and am always a little nervous when the house looks this good that regardless of the safety measures I am going to show up and there will be an empty field at the address given instead of the villa. In the case if Villa Lapidea we showed up and it was beyond expectations and very true to the pictures. As other reviews have mentioned it was very quiet and peaceful and the pool and property are phenomenal. Couple of additional bits of information:

- This property sleeps 10. There are 4 bedrooms in the main house and there is a separate detached "game room" which has a pool table, darts, a bar, game console a pull out bed and its own full bath with shower. None of our guests slept out here but it would have been easy if we had an extra person and a need. As it was the game room served as the perfect getaway for the kids when the adults wanted a little peace and quiet.

- One night we had a local chef/cook (Marjana Tikel) affiliated with an agro tourism farm come over and cook dinner for the seven of us using truffles and all local grown ingredients from their farm. We had a four course meal fit for kings outside under the cover of the separate kitchen area and afterward we shared grappa and chatted with the chef and her friend. It was very affordable and well worth it. Only wish we had done this a couple more times and we would have if we had known about it earlier (marijana dot tikel at gmail dot com) - trust me you should do this.

- We went sailing in Rovinj one day and for me besides the house this was one of the highlights of the trip. Rovinj is beautiful and seeing it from the water before walking its old city streets was a great experience. We did a half day trip with Spark Sailing and Captain Jura which is George in English (info at sparksailing dot com). Best quote of the week - a boat without schnapps is not a boat worth sailing on.

The property manager and the house owner were both incredibly responsive as well as fair and courteous. I would highly recommend this area of Croatia as a getaway and definitely this villa as the place to enjoy it from. I know it looks too good to be true but believe it.

Great villa with a lovely garden and pool in a quiet location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in July here with three small kids and had a wonderful time.

The villa is very clean, well equipped and has spacious and comfortable rooms. The garden is also large and beautifully kept, as is the pool, and the whole property feels luxurious. We loved eating out in the summer kitchen by the pool. The isolated location means absolute privacy. We loved the idea of playing music outdoors while swimming and eating outside, however the music system didn't work properly.

The property is well positioned for exploring the area, but make sure you hire a decent car that can cope with unpaved roads. Motovun, Groznjan, Porec, Novigrad are all easily reached and worth a visit.

Overall we had a great stay, the property was exactly what we had imagined from the photos, and would happily return and recommend this villa to friends.

luxurious villa

Lovey property exactly how it looks in the photos. Really well kept and in lovely surroundings. The pool is lovely and heated. the rooms are very comfortable. a welcome pack was waiting for us which was really nice. It is a couple of kilometres from a small shop but you would need to go approx. 20km to a supermarket. Motovun is a lovely town. Very quiet at night but lovely restaurants and views. We visited Porec, Rovinj and Novigrad between 30 mins to 50 mins away.

Fantastic house and garden

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay here in September 2015. The weather was gorgeous. The villa ad garden around it were fabulous. It was clean and had everything you would need. The location was beautiful, very peaceful but a bit off the main roads so I really think a car is a must. Getting to see places was hassle free but we had a sat nav from the rental company which was very useful. The villa wasn’t far from Motovun. The owners are lovely and helpful. The pool was a good size and we couldn’t get children out of the water for whole week. I would recommend the villa to anyone.
