Digbeth Views is a stunningly presented Cotswold stone house, located above an antiques shop, in a pretty courtyard in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, surrounded by glorious countryside. Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the most famous of the Cotswold market towns, due to its beautiful buildings and large number of antique shops, pubs and restaurants. It is also well placed in the heart of the North Cotswolds and is an ideal location for exploring the surrounding countryside or visiting the many other beautiful towns and villages that are just a short drive away.
From the outside, Digbeth Views is a traditional Cotswold stone house, which, like many properties of its era, served as both a place of work and the family home. Nowadays, the family home is entirely self-contained, with a lovely entrance from the courtyard, and the property's interior has been stunningly transformed into a spacious, contemporary house. Wooden floors, oak beams and a designer stone wall provide a beautiful link to the property's historic character, and these features are complemented by the modern facilities available, including wireless internet access, four flatscreen TVs, underfloor heating and a well presented kitchen.
The house sleeps a maximum of 4+2 people, in two bedrooms and on a sofa bed in the living room, with two bathrooms. There is a roof terrace, with lovely views over the rooftops of Stow to the countryside beyond. Free on street parking is readily available a short walk from the property. Digbeth Views is an ideal choice for friends, couples or a family, looking for a beautiful property in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Booking and payment
Character Cottages is a marketing agency and we do not own or manage any of the cottages listed on our website. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.
For bookings commencing more than 10 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 10 weeks prior to arrival.
All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.
A security deposit of £150 is payable, which is returned after the letting period, subject to an inspection of the property. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival. In the event that the owners, or their appointed housekeepers, have to spend additional time tidying up after your departure, then the cost of this extra time may be deducted from your security deposit. The security deposit is payable prior to arrival at the property, via a bank transfer or a valid debit or credit card.
The maximum occupancy of the property, is six guests, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than six guests at the property.
Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by up to one additional infant.
Regrettably, pets are not accepted.
Bed linen and towels
Bed linen and towels are provided for guests.
Arrival and departure times
Arrival time is after 3pm and departure time is by 10am. Access is via a key safe, therefore it does not matter if you are arriving late at night.

Heating, fuel and logs
The property has an electric central heating system, with underfloor heating throughout the first floor. Electricity is included in the rental price.
The property has free wireless internet access and Freeview TVs in the living room, kitchen/dining room and both bedrooms. There is a DVD player in the living room.
There is no telephone at the property, however, mobile phone reception is generally OK.
Free on street parking is readily available a short walk away from the property.
Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request.
Child friendly facilities
A travel cot (without linen) and a high chair are provided.
A small quantity of initial consumables is provided for your convenience (eg. tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, washing powder, toilet rolls, etc), however, you should not expect the quantity of these provisions to be sufficient for the duration of your stay.
Accessibility, health and safety
The main living and sleeping areas of the property are on the first and second floors, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency.
The smoke detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.
Children should be supervised on the roof terrace at all times.
No smoking is permitted throughout the property.
