The external dining area has a large built-in sofa with comfortable pillows and a large wooden table under a pergola for endless summer conversations while drinking cool wine. Near the entrance there is another comfy area and in front of the house a wonderful veranda awaits you that is ideal for taking in the expansive views of the bay while swinging on the hammock.

Over the years our family has fallen in love with this beautiful mountain called Pelion in central Greece. For the past 40 years we have been spending several months a year in the village of Agios Giorgos Nilias enjoying the peace and the gentle pace of Mount Pelion. This mountain offers breathtaking views over the sea and is dotted by 34 charming little villages. The traditional houses, built of stone with slate roofs provide an idyllic setting all year round, with lush vegetation surrounding them.
All this time, many of our friends who stayed in the village as our guests loved this special place and some decided to acquire their own homes. On this occasion, we wanted to offer an opportunity for those who would like to visit Agios George Nilias, but do not own their home, to offer for short or longer period some of the houses we have built, equipping them with much care and love like they were made for us!
With great care in details, we have designed and equipped the interior of the houses as well as and the external verandas and gardens so that visitors feel at home and totally free to relax and take it all in. We invite our visitors to come and taste an unique and unforgettable way of exploring and come closer to nature!
In Pelion Homes we want you to feel like home. This is our motto and our main concern!
Stathis purchased this villa in 2014
The area where the house is situated is very quite. There is no traffic noise, no cars.In 10 min walking ,you can reach the square of the village and the restaurants. In 20 min walking, you can reach the wonderful chestnut forest. It is ideal for children!
The house has a unique advantage .
Its location is such (looking south) ,that you can reach easily the beaches of Pagasitikos Gulf (RIVERA BEACH, LEFOKASTRO, AFISSOS etc) and the most lovely beaches of Greece ,in the Aegean sea. Beaches of Lambinou, Milopotamos, Fakistra, Xinovrisi (or Potistika) Agioi Saranda and more. In addition, one can enjoy all seasons in this house, observe the beautiful colors of autumn, or the refreshing blooms of spring. Summer is ideal to sit out and have your breakfast or dinner, while in winter you can stay warm and cosy in front of the fireplace, baking chestnuts and reading a book.
What more one can ask but to be so close to nature while enjoying vast panoramic views of the mountains and Pagasiticos bay?
You can visit also the monasteries of the Meteora .
I stayed at the gorgeous Villa Thalia for just over a week, it was my first trip to Greece and coming from South Africa ( Cape Town ) I am familiar with a beautiful beach or two… but the beaches that I visited during my stay were nothing short of breath taking! There are several you can visit yet no two alike but all offering something unique. Take your goggles and flippers to snorkel around little caves, others are so discreete you feel have your own private beach, they offer calm warm waters and beautiful sunsets. while other beaches are a little more lively with white pebbled beaches, turquoise waters, beach bars and music. there is something for anyone and any mood. and what better than after a long day on the beach to end at a Taverna in one of the village squares with some delicious Greek cuisine all fresh and local produce and an ice cold beer, or just as nice was to dine alfresco at the villa while gazing out at the beautiful 360view of pelion. I can not say enough good things about my trip, the only thing I would change is perhaps I would have stayed a few more days… A week felt too short in this little paradise!
Everything about Villa Thalia is wonderful. The owner of Pelion Homes, Stathis together with his team, have thoughtfully provided for everything one might need for a holiday in Agios Georgios. The kitchen is well equipped and not only that, the house had all the neccessary ingredients available for us to cook. ( olive oil, viniger, spices, rice, pasta etc) Our beds were very comfortable, and were made with high quality linens and pillows. The bathrooms were also excellent. The surrounding area is peaceful, we had a big private garden to ourselves, we could hear goats on the hill, birds at night and enjoy an amazing view of the Pagasetic Gulf. We had amazing walks in the woods and swam at Fakistra on the side of the Aegean sea.
Can’t wait to go back again this summer to chill at the swiming pool, watching the sun going down. We loved every minute!
Our stay at Villa Thalia was such a unique experience! We felt like home, from the moment we entered till the end of our trip. It was a beautiful home, fully equipped , with an amazing view! In every corner we would find a pleasant surprise, as if someone had prepared the home especially for us. We cooked as if we were home, we spent time by the fireplace watching movies and playing games, we walked in the woods and swam at the crystal clear waters of the Aegean sea. In the evenings we could spend time in our veranda watching the sunset, listening to the waterfall and the birds. The beds were also great. It felt as if Villa Thalia was our own private spa, a place where we could rest and recharge our batteries. With an excellent host, Stathis, who showed us around and gave us all the tips to explore Pelion and its treasures. Thank you again for an unforgettable time! I highly recommend it for nature lovers! Looking forward to our next visit .
The hosts made every effort for us to feel welcome on arrival. We were greeted and given a tour, shown the basics of the property and they had even made sure our first morning's breakfast was already for us in the refrigerator, allowing us to settle in the second we arrived. The house is simple but very comfortable and offers many areas to relax and gather over the day and night. A book is provided with wonderful local knowledge and anything additional, Stathis was more than happy to organize. This included a day at sea on a private chartered yacht, captained by Giannis, who was also very kind and extremely professional and knowledgeable. Pelion will capture your heart and this villa is the perfect base from which to explore it. Thank you for the hospitality!
We had a very nice time in Pelion, thanks to the good care of Stathis and Dimitris Kataropoulos. They made us feel at home from the first second we met them. Their service was excellent without interference from them. They provided more than enough information about Pelion, they even have their own little book with tips, trips, a map and even specially build cd's. The house was very clean with supply to get through the first day, a parasol and little beach chairs, board games in case of rain, a BBQ. It was more than complete.
We had a list of places to visit and things to see, and this was the same they proposed in their book. The beaches on the Aegean sea are more beautifull than on the Pagasitikos Gulf. The people were very friendly and not pushy, except in Volos. There is a more tourist atmosphere. Volos is also a city where you can go shopping. We also went to Meteora, a special shaped hill with monastries on top. It's a long drive (2 to 3 hours), but it's worth it. When you are there you should take the opportunity. The monastries are on the Unesco's list of world heritage. To summarise, we had a very nice stay in Pelion, thanks to the people of Pelion Homes.
Was a wonderful long weekend! Villa Thalia was very cosy, modern and we really felt like home. The view and the outdoor area is also stunning. We experienced a great yoga retreat with the help of Stathis, who was really there for anything we need. Had choises in hand even for the event of rain :) For sure will recomend it to friend ( I have already did) and will visit again
A combination of serenity and action. You can sit by the fireplace or enjoy the nature and trekking activities. The rooms are clean, spacious, decorated with great taste and attention to every small detail. Full of amenities that make your stay easy and pleasant.
At Pelion Homes you enjoy your stay from the moment you walk in by a lot of complimentary and welcome surprises as tsipouro.
Our party of six (plus two dogs) arrived at 00:30 and yet Stathis, the owner, was there to show us around, to give us all the details about our stay and to provide us with a pack of spaghetti having already put the water to boil in order for us to eat something due to the late arrival!
We definitely will be back for more days.
Thank you for the lovely weekend!
