About this property

This 5 bedroom lakefront home is in the heart of the Pocono Mountains. It has the feel of country and only minutes away from year-round activities including skiing, water sports, golf, casinos, historical sites, fun parks and much more. This 3 level home comfortably sleeps 12. The key features of this home are a sweeping cathedral ceiling, wood-burning fireplace, air conditioning, outdoor hot tub, barbeque, private beach and dock, a canoe and a rowboat. Wifi has been upgraded to 300mbps. A water softener has been added to make each shower or bath especially enjoyable. There are blackout curtains in each bedroom for those who like to sleep late. Each room has its own thermostat for your comfort. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You will see breathtaking views from the 700 square foot deck overlooking our 100 acre lake, as well as from the 8 1/2ft Dining Room table, loft, the dock, and the screened in porch. This property is in Big Bass Lake, an award winning, gated, recreational community with its own security. You’ll be within a 3/8 mile walk to the family picnic area and private beach. The community has many amenities, including an Olympic sized heated outdoor swimming pool, splash pad and an indoor pool, clubhouse with games and an excellent restaurant, playgrounds, tennis, basketball, pickleball, a hiking trail, swimming, fishing, etc. Amenity use passes must be purchased for renters age 7 and above only if the amenities are being used. Parking is free.
Bedroom setup is: Top floor: master bedroom has a king bed plus private full bath, 2nd bedroom has queen bed and 1 set of bunk beds (top twin, bottom full) with bathroom, 2nd floor (kitchen level): 3rd bedroom with queen bed, 4th bedroom has 2 twin beds with full bath in between the bedrooms; 1st level: 5th bedroom with queen bed with half bath next to it. There is a futon on the mezzanine (top level) and 2 futons in the living room. There is a pull out sofa in the game room with full bed.
Renters are required to sign a lease and fill out a BBL rental application. You will be issued a registration number which will make it easy for you to enter the community.
NO PROM GROUPS. Renters must be 25 years old. Children with parents/grandparents are also welcome.

We wanted a place that would accommodate my wife and I, our children, grandchildren and a dog. The house gave us plenty of room and space to be separate as well. The house was very well equipped and comfortable and is in a great location. We hope to go back again.

Incredibly clean, spacious home on lake

This property was perfect for our annual family vacation with 8 people and 2 dogs. The house was spacious and very clean and well stocked with both kitchen needs and lake equipment. The house was right on the lake which made for easy access. A beach in walking distance made for fun swimming for our kids. We also went on great hikes and visited nearby small towns. We would absolutely rent here again!! The linens service is a must.

My husband and I were married for 46 years and had 2 children who are both adults. Our home is in Columbia, Maryland which allowed us to make frequent visits to our vacation home.

For many years we were in business together. We owned an adult education business, mail order business and also were printing brokers. Since 2003, I have been managing and renting our Big Bass Lake home which is now my only business. It has been a 'labor of love' and it is my pleasure to provide a rustic, comfortable home to our renters, many of whom come back year after year.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I searched for months (In Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Florida and Pennsylvania) for a vacation home that would be a nice second home for us. It would also have to be attractive to other people so that we could rent it out to help defray the costs.
We knew instantly that our Big Bass Lake home was the right one and put in an offer on the same day we saw it. It was a large, rustic, comfortable home, with a very desirable position on the lake. We loved the house, the setting, the view and the Big Bass Lake community. We found the community to be first class with amenities that would appeal to everyone.
We also liked the fact that our home was located close to the heart of the Poconos. It offers the best of both worlds – a pristine, quiet, safe community which celebrates nature, not far from so many ‘things to do’ for us and our renters.

What makes this property unique

Our home is located on the east shore of the lake with a panoramic view. The sunsets over the lake are gorgeous!
We also have the best dock on the lake (with seating), a sandy area for children’s play and seating as well as an area to launch our boats.
The community has a very natural, country feel to it with lots of mature trees, natural grasses, shrubs and large yards.
Parking is ample (both in our driveway) and in our own off-the-street space in front of our home. There is also parking at the beach and pool/clubhouse complex. Our beach and pool are close enough so that you can walk there.
Our home is spacious with several ‘common areas’. The 5 bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. Our beds are good quality and we have lots of them! There is unlimited hot water as we have a ‘pass through’ system. The kitchen is generously stocked with dishes, glass ware, utensils, pots and pans, serving platters and bowls, etc.
Our air conditioner is very quiet and will provide you with 30,000 BTU’s of power.
Seating in our dining room/kitchen will accommodate a large group.
The game room has a professional quality pool table, air hockey and a huge TV with many premium channels. Of course, we have Wifi as well which has been upgraded to 300 mbps. Telephone reception is good.
