Cosy cottage

  • 4 of 5

Had a wunderful time here. Cottage with its views and fireplace (and comforable bed) is perfect en October is best time ever! All reviews were true! We did not have to use the car a lot as almost all beautiful walks were nearby. For walkers we recommand buying the OS 24 Raasay & Applecross (SPAR in Lochcarron). Of all the other attractions you will find a whole cubboard full of folders...

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review & looking after the Cottage & leaving it lovely & clean. You were so lucky with the weather. Sitting out in the garden sunbathing & having a BBQ in the evening in October! The colours & scenery are amazing at this time of year. Hope to see you again sometime. All the Best Mairi

Great cottage in a wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

I had a fantastic time whilst staying at this cottage. The property is very clean and comfortable and has wonderful views from the windows and garden being right next to the loch. The open fire is also lovely to curl up next to in the evenings. Lochcarron is a great base to explore the west coast from, with Skye, Torridon, and Applecross not far away (to mention just a few). Lochcarron itself is also lovely with a local shop, cafe, pub and butchers all within walking distance. I highly recommend this cottage and hope to return myself at some point!

We arrived in the dark just after the November snow and received a warm welcome from Mairi the owner. The cottage is traditionally furnished, well equipped and immaculately clean with the open fire being the icing on the cake.

When we awoke the following morning and opened the curtains it was simply superb! The cottage is right on the waters edge and the view across the loch to the snow covered mountains was breathtaking.

We had a wonderful time here and would recommend this cottage to anyone seeking a traditional, away-from-it-all place, from which to explore this wonderful part of Scotland.

Overall excellent accommodation .The cottage has plenty of room with a well maintained garden and offers great views of the loch and mountains . The option of wall mounted heating or open fire adds to the character ab=nd charm of the cottage . The accommodation was extremely clean and well maintained . Would have got a score of 5 if the cottage had a shower rather than just a bath,Bedrooms and kitchen spacious with a reasonable sized lounge and hallway.the front garden outside the cottage is a good feature . The village is some 15mins walk from the cootage but has all the amenties you could want (shops/restuarant/cafe/pub/transport etc

directions and location are good and the owners made us very welcome

The accommodation is a great base for either chilling or touring the area, with lots going in, with the added delight of having to spend some time discovering some of the more remote/interesting attractions.

Overall we had a great week..

Great house on the Loch

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Mairi's house. The view is exceptionnal and we enjoyed getting up everyday surrounded by the mountains and the Loch. The Loch is right at the end of the garden and we had some nice walks around. There are many nice places to visit in the area.

The house has the charm of old houses and we especially enjoyed the open fire. Had it not been the end of the holidays, we would have gladly stayed longer!
