Converted 16th Century Mill In Central Normandy

Secluded Property With 5 Bedrooms, 3 Living Rooms, 2 Kitchens And Hot Tub

Moulin de Valette was built as a mill in 1050, with the present building dating from the 16th century. Over the centuries, the property was owned by French noble families.

Located directly on the Andelle river and on the edge of the pretty village of Perriers-sur-Andelle, the property offers absolute seclusion for those wishing to get away from it all.

The present owners purchased the mill in 2004 and have spent the past ten years lovingly restoring it. The property now exudes charm whilst offering guests a wide variety facilities and an experience of comfort and luxury.

During your stay we have ensured the house has everything required for the perfect break. There are Egyptian cotton sheets on all beds, fluffy towels for bath and hot tub use as well as jackets and wellies for the more adventurous. If you wish to stay indoors, then take your choice of boardgames, two DVD players (complete with DVD library) or a Sony Playstation. Both kitchens are fully equipped leaving even the most fussy of cooks with plenty of choice on what to create.

During spring and summer, take a walk in the garden and do a little foraging. Apart from eggs, there is an orchard with apples, pears, apricots and cherries and a herb garden just out the front door. Strawberries, raspberries and rhubarb are also grown on the property.

Even better than the photos!

This was a perfect getaway for us and our friends. The house is even lovelier than the photos suggest; an elegant, comfortable blend of luxury and personal touches. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous, but on our favourite days, we barely left the house and garden; the adults kicked back and relaxed, and the children were in the river almost all day. Kirsten made us feel incredibly welcome. Throughly recommended!

Beautiful and large

The property has everything you could possibly want, we especially loved that there were two kitchens, perfect for ten people staying over Christmas. The property is clean, well maintained and fully equipped, coffee machines (yes, multiple) to wellies for walking around the beautiful gardens.

We loved visiting the chickens who provided eggs for breakfast. We even had a visit from a few water voles!

We can't wait to go back in the summer and have a swim!

The dream

Nous sommes arrivées dans la maison et instantanément nous nous sommes senties bien. La maison est grande, magnifique, avec un goût évident, et idéal pour se reposer. Kirsten est vraiment charmant et nous a tt de suite mis a l aise. Il nous a fait visiter la maison et c est avec surprise que nous avons découvert les poules, le jaccuzzi, le trampoline... Nous avons passé 5 jours super. C est une adresse que je garde! Et je recommande vraiment cette maison

Stunning and very private retreat

My family and I absolutely loved this lovingly restored home which provided space for a large group and comfort. There was something for everyone - whether we wanted to cook, fish, sit in the jacuzzi, discover the chickens and bees, or enjoy the walks and nearby village. We will definitely be back and thank you for the warm welcome.

Located just 5 hours from London and 1.5 hours from Paris, the property is set a secluded 7 acre plot on the border of the picturesque village of Perriers-sur Andelle.

Spend your days resting, swimming in the river or perhaps taking a leisurely walk into town to the local patisserie or through the local beech forests.

Walking around the property there is plenty to do for both kids and adults alike. Collect eggs from the chickens each morning or pick fruit from the orchard and berry bushes to make a delicious home-made dessert. There is an extra-large trampoline providing fantastic fun for a bunch of kids, and table tennis for those in a more competitive frame of mind.

During the winters, cosy up beside the open fire place or next to the huge Canadian wood-burner. Puzzles, books, DVD's and a Sony Playstation are all provided.

Further afield, Normandy's beaches, Paris, and Euro Disney all beckon those wanting to take day-trip. The house is also only 10 minutes drive from one of Normandy's prettiest towns - Lyons la Foret.
