About Beth and Jon

Owner of an Event Management company in the UK, my wife Wendy and I fell in love with the Med near Spain and of course found this lovely vacation home to match! We know you'll create lasting memories in it of peaceful, special moments, long siestas, home cooked meals and of course relaxing after the beach in it just as we have. Come and enjoy !

Beth and Jon purchased this house in 2009

Why Beth and Jon chose Argelès-sur-Mer

We love leaving the car at home and coming to paradise! You will too: Enjoy the twice weekly farmers market right outside our door, all year round. Walking to all shops, fine restaurants and cafes, and a short bike ride to the gorgeous pristine beaches. And even an easy hop onto the train or bus to take us to artist heaven and picturesque fishing village of Collioure in just a few minutes! Would you believe it's only 1h45 to mountain skiing as well?! Paradise found!

What makes this house unique

WIFI, 2 separate kitchens, 2 separate dining areas and a roof top terrace, all while in village centre...this home has special features for groups travelling together and enjoying a bit of privacy and practicality, too.

Just 25 minutes walk, 10 minutes bike or 5 min drive to the beach!

Holiday let in Argeles sur Mer with it all

  • 5 of 5

Truthfully, not just because the owners asked me to write my comments, really truthfully this place has it all. Argeles sur Mer is a lovely village and the holiday let is right in the heart of its most charming historic center. Plus you can while away the hours on the terrace or use their bikes to go to the beach easily.

Nice Argeles rental in heart of cute village

  • 5 of 5

Loved that it had a roof terrace, lots of space inside, even two kitchens (one conveniently adjacent to the roof terrace!). Nice to have high speed WIFI as well and a lot of ammenities nearby. Oh and thanks for the use of the good free bikes.

A great stay at Argeles thanks to the great home

  • 5 of 5

We have rented this house with six girls for one week. It was a pleasure to stay at this house. The house was bigger than we had seen on the pictures. Especially the roof terrace was awesome!

There were five bikes, so that was perfect for us. We used the bikes every day for shopping and going to the beach. Biking from the house to the beach was 20-30 minutes. The village where the house was located was really adorable.

It was really clean inside and that was comfortable. Especially the bathroom and kitchens were very clean. The atmosphere and furniture were really cosy.

The customer service was also good! They couldn't speak English very well, so we had to speak French. But we have improved our French for sure this vacation!

I would recommend this house to everyone! I recommend it for a group friends or family because the house is really big. It is perfect for 6 people.

We went to the beach every day. We have cooked every night on our own. The two kitchens were comfortable. And we have been on the roof terrace every night.

We had a great week at this beautiful house! I really recommend it to everyone.

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Our weekend break was perfect. The house was fantastic, the village is quaint and the people are very friendly.

The beach was only a short walk away and you do not need a car. We visited Collioure on the train which only takes four minutes! The train station is only a few minutes walk from the house.

I would like to say a special thank you to Beth who helped us with anything we needed answering during our stay.

We will definitely be returning.

We struck gold!

  • 5 of 5

Our holiday at Rue Vermeille, Argeles sur Mer was perfect.

Although slightly nervous that we had never been to the region we were by no means disappointed.

Our typical day was breakfast on the roof terrace, a stroll to the beach, lunch at the marina, afternoon coffee in the market square – fabulous locally bought food and wine in the evening. What’s not to like!

The local street market was expansive and lively with more than just typical souvenirs. We felt very French!

All this and glorious sunshine – what’s not to like?

And as a bonus we came away with lots of style tips for our own home as the property is amazingly stylish!!

We will definitely be returning and have already checked availability for our next holiday in 2014

Owner's Response: We agree whole heartedly! When the property was purchased, we felt it "checked all the boxes": proximity to sea, village life, and well-rounded accommodation with roof terrace. Argeles-sur-Mer to us is a real getaway, without breaking the bank nor feeling as if it's entirely discovered by tourists. It still holds so much charm, and it seems our renters find the same joys in the house and location as we do! We welcome you back in 2014!
