About the property

2 bedroomed cottage close to 3 beaches and restaurants

Sandy feet cottage is a delightful fishermans cottage in the heart of the downalong area of St Ives. It is perfectly situated between Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches. Porthmeor beach is a blue flag beach famous for its surf and Porthgwidden beach is a more sheltered and ideal for families with small children. It is also within a strolling distance of the town centre and its many restaurants and cafes and the tate gallery.

Sandy feet itself is a 2 bedroomed property which has been recently renovated to offer comfortable and stylish living.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine/drier, cooker and hob with a table and 4 chairs.

The living room has tv and dvd player and ipod dock and speakers plus 2 sofas.

Upstairs there is a bathroom with toilet, sink and a bath with shower.

Bedroom 1 has a kingsize bed ,chest of drawers, walk in wardrobe and 2 bedside lights.

Bedroom 2 has twin single beds, bedside cabinet with bedside lights and a chest of drawers.

Great cottage in great location. We'd go again and recommend to anyone

  • 5 of 5

We loved our break at Sandy Feet.

We managed to get a space in the Island car park and didn't touch the van all week.

It's a lovely little cottage with everything you need, the kids loved the DVDs and the extra beach toys we borrowed.

The beds are lovely and bedding very luxurious.

It's only a very short stroll to the harbour or Porthgwidden beach. We had breakfast at the Porthgwidden Beach Cafe twice as the food and views are amazing.

We also ate at The Mex (Mexican restaurant) and loved it.

We had a few beers in The Sloop and loved that too. It was great to be car free so it was safe to have a beer without needing to drive or walk far to get home.

We'd happily stay again and would recommend it to anyone.

We also went swimming at the town leisure centre which is a 15-20 minute walk (up quite a lot of steps as it looks over the town). It worth calling ahead to check times of pool openings as we wanted to use the children's pool and it's not always open (busy with lessons). It's a nice pool though.

Owner's Response: Thank you David for such a lovely review! I am so pleased you had a lovely time. We all really enjoy the car free nature of St Ives as well. It's a pain parking but then lovely as there is such little traffic that our road has a lovely play out on the street retro vibe the kids love. Thanks again for such a nice review. Much appreciated!

Another great stay.

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay at the property and we had another great break. The accommodation is in a great location for wandering into the town and also the local beaches. The accommodation is very homely and well catered for in terms of pretty much all you require for a holiday. We hope to visit again! Thank you Vikki.

Lovely house, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 3 (although it would be fine for 4 people) and it was perfect for a relaxing week at the end of September. The house had everything we needed and was very well presented. The location was perfect, just a few minutes walk from the beaches and the town. We would definitely stay there again!

Very good location.

  • 4 of 5

Over all we had a lovely stay due to the convienient location for my elderly mother. However there were a couple of niggles. No mirror or hanging space in second bedroom, bedside lamp in bedroom not working no spare bulbs we could find, tap in bathroom sink too powerful for size of sink so we all got wet at one point or another! That said if these niggles were corrected we would have no hesitation in returning. We were so lucky with the October weather which was the icing on the cake.

Very well placed in lovely town but small improvements could easily be made.

  • 3 of 5

Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and St Ives is so lovely. The cottage is well placed esp for the art galleries and during the Festival and of course the beaches. The cottage itself was comfortable although we preferred the second bedroom as the bed in the master bedroom practically filled the width. The lounge was comfortable and accessories good.

However a few simply improvements would make a huge difference:

There was no toilet paper on arrival.

The owner was unavailable on phone

The cleaners helped us to sort the oven out which was badly explained.

The cottage is no longer in the care of Aspect

Hot water only Luke warm

Not generous with towels and tea towels.

Cleaners said bathroom light would be mended but no one came

No hanging space in second bedroom (plenty of room for a wardrobe)

No bread knife

No washing up brush but cleaners provided

Owner's Response: Hi John I am so pleased you had a lovely holiday. I have had a chat with the housekeeper as I take any negative feedback very seriously. I thought from your review that you had been given less than we said we provided. However after speaking to the housekeeper she told me that you did have the full quota of towels and at your request provided you with extra towels along with a washing up brush on top of the washing up liquid and sponge already provided and explained how to use the cooker. All of which was done within an hour of your arrival and provided free of charge. I have since bought a bread knife. There were 2 other large knives but a bread knife is nice to have as well. It is true that we are no longer with Aspects. However as you didn't book with Aspects I am a little confused why you would think they would deal with any of your problems. We decided instead to pass on some of our savings from the management fee on to our guests who pay last years prices and a band below than they would have done previously with Aspects. In essence it sounds like you had a lovely time in St Ives and I hope you look back on your time there fondly. Kind regards Vikki

An absolute delight

What lovely happy memories we have of our stay at Sandy Feet Cottage. Plenty of space for myself, The husband and two

Teenagers. Everything you need to live very comfortably whilst away. A real home from home. Lots of little touches which make it that little bit more cosy.

The location is perfect, you are far enough away from the harbour but only being a minutes walk away.

We will definitely be coming back to Sandy Feet for another perfect week away
