Fully equipped kitchen, Egyptian cotton linens, recently refurbished apartment

Two bedroom flat in the converted Crabbies Warehouse in Leith. Sleeps 5 (double bedroom, single bedroom, plus sofa bed for two).

Benefits from a private parking space (rare in Edinburgh!), 50 meg broadband, cable TV, large kitchen, washer drier.

It's on several bus routes - the 22, 14, 10, 35, 7, 16, 12.

Night buses: N22 and N16

Flat is situated in Leith, at the foot of Leith Walk, and is a short walk from Ocean Terminal, and about a 15 minute walk from city centre (5 min taxi). The apartment is close enough to the city centre for your convenience, but also in a quiet enough area to ensure a good nights sleep.

High chair and travel cot available.

Furnished to a high standard throughout, with solid oak furniture, high quality Egyptian cotton linens, and a well equipped kitchen.

A high quality white face cloth, hand towel, and bath sheet is provided for each guest.

Five people can be accommodated in one double bedroom, one single bedroom, and one double sofa-bed in the living room. This is self-catering accommodation.

The building itself is the former warehouse for Crabbies Green Ginger wine, and was constructed around 1850, before being converted into apartments in 1999. It's in a cosmopolitan location in Leith, with the trendy restaurants of the Shore on the next street.

Unusually for Edinburgh, we have a private parking space. Not that you'll need it - transport throughout the capital is fantastic, and from the apartment, there are seven bus routes, including two night buses (see further down the page). However, if you require additional parking, parking on nearby streets is free, and does not require a permit.

The apartment is on the ground floor, making it accessible for those with mobility issues. Despite being in the city, the apartment is very quiet, by virtue of the thick walls of the converted warehouse.

To welcome you after your journey to Edinburgh, you'll find a gift basket of tea, coffee, a few Scottish treats, and your first night's toiletries. There's also a pint of milk in the fridge.

KITCHEN

The kitchen is fully equipped with the items you'd expect such as matching crockery, cutlery and glassware, as well as utensils for even the more adventurous cooks. If you need some inspiration to make use of the whisks, blender and pastry brushes, I've also supplied a selection of cookery books.

We have fast, free, 100 meg broadband internet, available both as wifi and wired connection. There's cable TV, with over 130 TV channels. I've also supplied a DVD library with over 80 DVDs suitable for all ages. If you prefer a relaxed evening reading a book, then there's also a selection of over 100 novels.

Unlimited free calls to UK landlines! The apartment's landline has free calling to landlines in 68 countries, and free calling to mobiles in many more, including the US and Canada.

CONVENIENCE

The apartment is located on Great Junction Street, in Leith, Edinburgh, at the site of the Crabbies Warehouses. We have one private parking space, and there is further communal parking on a first-come, first-served basis. There is also free on-street parking nearby.

- Public Transport

Public transport is excellent, with 7 bus routes from within 100 metres of the apartment, including two night-bus routes. Despite its central location, the apartment is very quiet, thanks to its situation on the warehouse development.

The number 22 bus takes around 10 minutes to reach Princes Street, which is considered the heart of Edinburgh.

Why Joe McDougall chose Leith

We used to live here before we moved to the countryside. It's situated in the Crabbies Warehouse, on the site of the old Yardheads Distillery - where Crabbies Green Ginger Wine was made, from 1850! In 1990 the business moved to a soulless industrial estate, leaving this gorgeous warehouse for conversion into flats.

What makes this apartment unique

You'll be in a great position at the foot of Leith Walk - meaning there's great access to the city centre, while avoiding the constant footfall of tourists.

Good location for the centre

This is a very good location to be in as the bus route and tour buses stop mins walk from the apartment.

It is a quite location but due to being a ground floor flat you are subject to the noises and pipe work from the flat above.

There is a very damp smell in the lobby area before entering the flat which is no fault of the owners.

The beds were very comfortable and towels and linen of good quality.

Communication with Joe was easy and answered very quickly.

Wonderful stay in a lovely Apartment

Spent four wonderful days in this unit in Leith. Great working class neighbourhood, about a half hour walk to the heart of Edinburgh. There is also great bus service as thoroughly outlined in the material the owners leave out for you.

The apartment itself is cosy and comfortable. Beautiful upgrades to the bathroom are spectacular. The kitchen is also modern and equipped with everything you could need.

The living room is very comfortable, with nice sofas and a great TV.

The bedrooms are small but have everything you need including lots of storage space.

The owners were totally accessible and able to answer any questions we had.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends, or to return there ourselves the next time we visit Edinburgh.

Cozy apartment close-in to city center

Affordable apartment in Leith - 10 minutes on bus to Princes St. Well equipped modern eat-in kitchen - also nice to have washer/dryer. Comfortable beds. Nice bathroom with heated floors. Reliable wifi and cable TV. Grocery store 2 blocks down. Immediate area has few restaurants but continue down Henderson a couple bus stops to several good pubs and nice Italian restaurant. Continue on same bus 10 minutes to end of line to Ocean Terminal mall - for restaurants, shops and large Mark & Spencer grocery store --- home of Royal Yacht Britannia. Quiet, safe area with kids park across the street - nice after the busy of city center.

Joe was very responsive and helpful. My sister hurt her knee and he helped with instructions of where to go for an urgent care clinic - all services and crutches were free by the way - didn't need to use our travel insurance. Good value for the price and close to city center. We do recommend getting the weekly bus pass - takes all the hassle out of having exact change for the buses.

Nice cosy flat

We had a lovely week in this apartment it was all clean on our arrival with everything we needed. A good location bit of a walk to town so used the buses they are very frequent. We stayed one week and did everything, it was nice to come back to this cosy apartment after being on our feet all day no complaints 😀
