Trulli 200 Years Old Modernised to a High Standard, WIFI, private pool.

Overview

Property

Updated: 10-Dec-2016
3 Bedroom 2 Bathroom Trulli With Private Pool and wifi

Converted from old farm buildings this 5 trulli complex has been beautifully restored to the highest standards of workmanship and sympathetic reconstruction.

Two double bedrooms with deep, comfortable mattresses, one with en-suite shower room plus a single bedroom which can accommodate a sixth person if required. Both bathrooms are modern with simple stone and white porcelain furniture.

A dining room with modern glass table and designer chairs for six people. Stone kitchen with hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, hand blender, coffee machine, processor and implements for the person who loves to cook.

Large sitting room with fireplace. Safe and alarm.

Doors from all the rooms go out to the inner courtyard where you can sit under the fig tree. A separate utility room with sink and washing machine is situated outside the house, so no noise. Terrace with stone table and chairs for six under a pergola overlooking the hills towards Martina Franca and Locorotondo across the Valley D'Itria. Stone path winds down to the pool 12m x 4m with stairs for easy access. Fence around the pool area makes it safe for families with children. Covered gazebo where you can eat by the pool. Lights in the trees for nighttime. Established olive, walnut and fig trees in the field around the pool and designed garden with local, Mediterranean plants.

Parking area under trees for shade. You have your own drive from the road up to the house with a large security gate. WiF both internal and external, television, dvd and music centre.

The walls and floors are constructed from local stone and there is underfloor heating for rentals in the winter time. Fans are available for summer but trulli are cool in the summer even when it is very hot outside.

Beautiful part of the world. Kids entertained along with adults. Easy to be active or tranquil. Lovely views. Trulli had everything you needed and we had lots of fun and laughter.

A wonderful property

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing holiday rental property! It successfully blends wonderful architecture and fabulous interior design with a house jam packed with everything you could possibly need for a great family holiday. I struggle with finding child friendly holiday homes that I still feel are decorated to a high standard - this property manages to do both.

The owners have thought of absolutely everything and they plus their wonderful housekeeper, could not have been more helpful before and throughout our stay.

The trulli has been designed to maximise the beautiful Puglian light with lots of windows, glass french doors and glass at the top of a number of the trulli conicals. and Waking up in the master bedroom with the morning light streaming through the conical roof was so relaxing and a fabulous way to wake up each morning.

The trulli has a number of french doors opening onto a secure courtyard area with table/chairs/sofas and a beautifully fragrant fig tree which provides a great location for pre-dinner drinks or breakfasts.

The trulli is very well stocked with everything you need for a holiday both in the kitchen and also including things like a DVD collection, books, local information, and lovely touches such as Italian cookbooks and a wonderful welcome basket. Also for those travelling with children the owners have thought and supplied everything from travel cots, buggies, bed guards, potties etc all the way to safety guards on sockets and table corners!

The pool is a lovely size with good seating and well equipped with toys for the pool to keep the children happy. It is fenced off with a padlocked gate so safe for children.

The trulli is set in beautifully landscaped gardens with a number of fruit and fig trees and great views over to both Cisternino and Martina Franca. It is well located to explore the region and near a number of great restaurants. The site is accessed up a driveway with a lockable gate and the house has an alarm so security is great.

Overall the trulli far exceeded our expectations and played a large part in our concluding that this was our best family holiday to date. We will definitely be returning both to Puglia but also to this fabulous trulli.

Owner's Response: You can't fault a guest who takes the time and trouble to write out a list of all the restaurants he has found in the surrounding towns and donates them to you for future guests!! This family really made the most of the house and pool, whilst travelling everywhere with their little ones. So pleased they enjoyed themselves, especially as they clearly had very high standards for decor and facilities, delighted we were able to meet them and more!!

Little piece of paradise in Puglia

  • 5 of 5

Spent 8 days at the end of May, with another couple, in this beautiful trulli in what is a unique part of Italy. We did many day trips out to neighbouring towns and it was always so nice coming " home" to our beautiful house. It is perfectly placed to visit many towns including Matera to the west and Lecce to the south. We spent a few evenings at home , eating out on the terrace watching the sunset and listening to the birds. So peaceful and relaxing especially after a day driving seeing the sights.

Beds are very comfortable, and night time is very quiet With no traffic noise or street lights disturbing light sleepers as we are.

Oven, dishwasher and washing machine all easy to use and detergent supplied.

Was a little too cold for us to swim but the pool and surrounds are beautiful.

Imma the caretaker is delightful and although speaks very little English, she somehow could work out any of our concerns/ needs.

A welcome pack of wine and fruit and basic supplies was a lovely touch This was a first for us after nearly 8 years experience of renting through VRBO.

We caught a taxi only once in and out to Cisternino. If you don't mind paying 30 euro for round trip then this is a good option. The only restaurant within walking distance, Masseria Cantone , seemed deserted the whole time we were there ( possibly because of bad trip advisor reviews ?) There is another little bar/ pizza place on cycle track about 1.3 kms away which we didn't get to.

Supermarket we eventually found ( sorry Sharon but instructions way too complicated in your instruction book😝m򗑍aybe just a simple map would help ) is quite easy to get to and has everything you need including a great butcher and great Puglian wine .

Will take our memories of Puglia and this beautiful property back to Australia and recommend it to anyone thinking of coming to this part of the world.

Owner's Response: Quite a privilege to have guests from so far away. When we spoke on the phone, they seemed to really enjoy the house and area. They said something that made me laugh, they had not expected Puglia to be so populated! We had a laugh and agreed that compared to the outback in Australia, it might seem populated but to someone from the UK, this was deep countryside!!!! Sorry they did not want to swim, again, I think to UK guests the water would be warm but maybe not to Australians. Mind you, Columbian friends of mine swam in the pool in November - hardier than me. Henrik and I are always thrilled when people enjoy Cisternino and the surrounding area and we wish these lovely guests a great journey back to Perth.

Stunning Trulli . Stunning Location.

  • 5 of 5

The trulli is a classic Puglian construction but with all mod cons... decent WiFi , Tv etc . The master bedroom is amazing, bedroom two lovely and third bedroom is on the small side for two but perfectly adequate .

There is no air con but you really do not need it. It was 37 c plus when I was there and the almost constant breeze combined with thick walls kept the place nice and cool. The pool is beautiful with far reaching views .

Its a short drive to the local supermarket which stocks most of what we needed. Only 10 minutes away is the beautiful and classically Puglian town of Cisternino and Locorotonto, Martina Franca and Ostuni are not far. I would say a car was essential . The owners couldn't do enough to make our stay amazing and Imma , who lives next door , ensured the place was maintained and cleaned regularly .

Highly recommended !

Incredible

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Sharon's lovely home. The region, the setting, the location, the modern yet cave-like interior, the pool and beautifully landscaped grounds, the entire atmosphere were all spectacular. Sharon and Imma were very helpful, friendly and accommodating in every way. And Puglia is just stunning. All in all, we can't wait to return!

Beautiful trullo in tranquil setting

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully restored traditional trullo, with stylish but also comfortable furniture. Lovely areas to sit outside and soak up the pretty views, great pool area (with added bonus of table tennis). Well equipped with everything you need. Quiet and peaceful setting but with plenty of places to visit if you want to (old towns, countryside, beaches) so a great area to explore. Sharon and her family and Imma and her family couldn't have been more kind, helpful and welcoming. Spotless and faultless. Would totally recommend. We were so glad we decided to stay in this really pretty trullo as it has completely made our holiday!!

Location

From the Owner

Because we know the Contrada and the neighbouring two families who are locals that have lived in the area for generations. We have become friends and they hoped that when this property went up for sale we could keep it within our small group of owners.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Brindisi or Bari at 30 Miles Nearest Barpub : Masseria Cantone at 300 Metres Nearest Ferry : Bari at 45 Miles Nearest Train : Cisternino at 2 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Masseria Cantone at 300 Metres Nearest Beach : Torre Carne at 10 Miles Car: necessary

Contrada Fantese is an old masseria (old farm), consisting of only three properties/homes. Our neighbours are locals who farm the land and mend the surrounding trulli. It lies in the middle of the valley d'Itria, surrounded by fields and there are superb views of Locorontondo and Cisternino from the garden. The area is close to all the famous towns of the area, Martina Franca, Alberobello, Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica (renown for its restaurants). The sea is about 25 minutes drive away with beautiful sandy beaches. The area is full of wild flowers, olive, fig, walnut and almond trees and local vineyards.

Cycle on the famous Italian cycling routes (2 minutes from the villa), visit the Bhole Baba buddhist centre for yoga and meditation, run through the countryside, visit the vineyards, cheese shops.

Facilities

From the Owner

Quiet, peaceful, extremely beautiful, yet close to the shops and buzzy, lively Cisternino, the centre of the 'in' crowd in the Summer months. The views are wonderful.
