Mate Lukas purchased this villa in 2014
The land was inherited from my parents whose parents also lived here for many generations.
Second visit to this wonderful apartment. Great location for everything - walk to shop, bakers, great restaurants, bars etc.
The accommodation is fantastic, everything has been thought of and it is spotlessly clean and tidy. The air con is wonderful as the weather both times we have been has been amazing and the pool is awesome - we spent much time around the pool and put the lights on to swim at night as well.
The icing on the cake is the Lukas family who live on site but are never intrusive or visible but always there if you need them - they are perfect hosts. Thanks Mate and your family for another great holiday.
We had a lovely holiday, and Mate and his family did not intrude on our privacy.
Thats was lovely week and prefect stay!
Thanks Lukas!
We loved our stay at this villa. The villa is spacious and modern. Air con in every room was very welcome as the weather was so gorgeously hot! The pool with its views of the sea and mountains is fabulous. We had a totally relaxing week. Although we had a car to explore, it was also nice to be able to walk to local bars, restaurants and beaches. Mate was very helpful showing us the local area so we got our bearings but also respected our privacy. Would stay again if we were to visit the area again in the future.
Starting from the executive summary - it was all very, very good.
The house is really well equipped, modern and all in line with the promise given by the offer. You can enjoy several rooms, two bathrooms, great terrace where you can spend either mornings or evenings and the swimming pool. If you have kids - they will love it!
The place itself is very close to the beach, restaurant and if you enjoy the walk - bakery, grocery and some coffee places are also withing the walking distance.
Last to mention - the great level of hospitality delivered by the host. He made sure we know where to come, made the short tour around the key places that were nearby. All of that with very positive and friendly attitude. We all felt great during the stay.
Having previously holidayed at Villa Lukas for a week in 2016, we loved it that much we decided to reserve the Villa for another 7 days in 2017.
Mate, the host was excellent and met us at the airport and took our bags to the Villa while we went for lunch at a local restaurant.
When we checked in, everything was as expected, clean, plenty of amenities and wifi as per the previous year.
The Villa is excellently decorated and within good walking distance of beaches, restaurants, bars and shops in Kastella Luksic. Further afield, there are more shops and restaurants in Kastella's Stari and Novi, which are a 20-30 minute walk from the Villa.
Buses run on the main road to Trogir and Split every 20 minutes (route 37) and cost around 14-17 Kuna pp depending on which direction you are heading. From Trogir or Split you can go on boat day trips around the many Dalmatian Islands as we did as well as there being many other tourist attractions on offer.
Overall, another fantastic stay and we look forward to coming back to this beautiful part of the world in the near future. Thanks to Mate and his family for being excellent hosts.
The city of Kaštela lies in the coast of the Kaštela bay under the Kozjak Mountain. With the city of Solin and the cities of Trogir and Split - both on the UNESCO list of protected patrimony makes them an urban complex. Although the area of Kaštela is indisputably a rich archeological site with remains dating back through history - since prehistory to the ancient Greek, Roman and Croatian times - Kaštela is mostly renowned for its fortifications - the castels (Kaštela). Urban settlements Kaštel Štafilić, Kaštel Novi, Kaštel Stari, Kaštel Lukšić, Kaštel Kambelovac, Kaštel Gomilica and Kaštel Sučurac were built at the end of 15th and during the 16 century as a sequence of fortifications - castles, as well as villages surrounded by massive walls that today form the city of Kaštela.
We invite you to take a walking tour at the promenades thru Kaštela and old town central areas that are often praised for their particulary interesting architecture of castles and churches.
All the fortifications and churches are open for public viewing and can be visited, but it is to be mentioned as extraordinary sightseeing spot the little church of Virgin Stomoria, the Biblical garden in Kaštel Novi, the Botanical garden and the Museum of the city of Kaštela in Kaštel Lukšić. The permanent exhibition of the museum is the testimony praising the history of our town. Cultural and entertainment shows (exhibitions, concerts, fishermen's parties), diverse sportive and recreational possibilities (tenis, sailing, hiking, ...), as well as parties on the terraces of the taverns accompained by homemade food specialties, make Kaštela an interesting place for everyone.
In addition, excellent trafic connections (Split Airport - Kaštela, highway, railroad) shall enable an extremly fast arrival to all chance travelers passing by our town.
The natural beach resort can be reached within two minutes from house, an excellent restaurant in five and the town center in ten minutes by walking.
The beach which is 100 meters away from the house is marked by water of excellent quality, with natural shade from the sunshine during the day due to nearby trees. There is a 15 km long path specifically aimed for riding and walking along the coast.
All seven little historical cities with medieval castles can be seen either by walking or riding.
