About the property

Perfectly located between Chamonix and Megève

The fantastic location of our apartment of 38m2 speaks for itself. With commanding views over the mountains, we offer a full sized bedroom containing one double bed and also an additional cabine room containing bunk bed (2 singles). Although ideally suited for four, the sofa bed does make it possible for up to six people.

The apartment contains one bathroom, but also has an additional shower room which is accessed from the cabine room. There is also a separate toilet room, away from the two bathrooms.

The lounge opens out onto a balcony with enough room for a small table and four chairs to enjoy al fresco dining and drinks while admiring the views. The balcony is South-West facing, so the warmth of the sun can be enjoyed until late in the day. The balcony also overlooks the pool.

The lounge also contains the kitchenette which contains everything required for a self catering stay. The dining table has seating for six people.

Within the lounge, there is a sofa for seating. There is also a flat screen SmartTv with free to air television channels (TNT HD).

Although within a managed property, our apartment is independent and the rental will be with private landlords.

Please note, if you require towels and bedding during your stay, these are available as an option extra: 12€ per person per week. This is not part of the rental as it would need to be arranged directly through our agent in resort. We are also obliged to charge stay tax at 1.50€ per person per night. This is a legal obligation, this is not our charge. Please advise us before making a booking if you would like us to charge together with your rental fee. Otherwise, our agent will request in cash upon your arrival in St Gervais.

We have now installed WiFi in the apartment. We offer access to the WiFi free of charge to our guests.

About Elaina & Pete Harvey

We are a family from the UK that have achieved a long-term ambition to have a base in the alps. We have traveled far and wide, but as outdoor enthusiasts (skiing, mountain biking, hiking) over the years we have consistently returned to the Alps.

After years of searching, we finally found a perfect property for us and our young family, in the wonderful town of St Gervais. The ideal location allows us to continue to participate in our favourite activities, but also having a base will allow us to learn all of the local areas and facilities in great detail. Of course, we do this in order to share our experiences with our guests, not just for our own benefit.

Why Elaina & Pete Harvey chose Saint-Gervais-les-Bains

Predominantly the fantastic location. We have been fortunate enough to ski in many of the big resorts, but we simply adore the subtle charm of St Gervais and the Evasion Mt Blanc area in general. It is not for Club 18-30 enthusiasts or similar (St Gervais does not have a nightclub), but if you like fantastic skiing with peaceful slopes then St Gervais is perfect.

Not that St Gervais is only for peaceful skiing. When we want to step it up a gear, there is plenty of tough terrain. When the weather closes in on Chamonix, the guides mostly head over to St Gervais, and it is always possible to head over to Chamonix anyway.

What makes this apartment unique

In a peaceful resort with lots to do in the area and surrounds. Closest property to the telecabine makes any outdoor activity easy, particularly for skiing in the winter and mountain biking and hiking in the summer. Recently, the mountain bike trail 'Le Whizz' has opened and can be accessed via the telecabine.

The centre of St Gervais is only a 5 - 10 minute walk, but you do not need to go into the centre for most of the essentials as there are shops nearby.

The swimming pool also offers welcome refreshment during the summer holiday periods (July and August only), of course with the wonderful mountain backdrop.

We now offer WiFi access in the apartment to our guests. There is no charge for this facility.

Perfectly located between Chamonix and Megève, St Gervais is a delightful Spa town in the heart of some of the best mountain country. Popular all year round makes St Gervais popular and thriving whatever time of year you choose to visit.

One of the best kept secrets in the alps, immediate access is available to one of the larger of the French ski areas, Evasion Mt Blanc (445km of pisted runs). What sets this particular area aside from the others, it that it is fantastic for families (and proudly so). Quiet slopes and quiet resorts make for a friendly atmosphere. In addition, the telecabine leads to the location of the ski school at Bettex, which has a great reputation.

In the summer, the telecabine runs and allows access to the mountains for hiking and mountain biking to some of the most scenic trails in the alps. Other local activities include paragliding, canyoning, bungee jumping, white water rafting and lots more.

Locally, the thermal baths are available to take away all your aches and pains or simply just for fun and relaxation.

Departing from St Gervais is the Tramway du Mont-Blanc. In winter it carries skiiers over to Les Houches, part of the Chamonix Valley ski area. In summer, it carries tourists and offers magnificent views, excellent hiking from several locations, mountain biking from Bellevue, restaurants at altitude and more. It is, of course, also the first part of the long route that mountaineers take when attempting to reach the summit of Mont Blanc.

Down in the valley just below St Gervais, Le Fayet contains more shops and restaurants. It is also where the nearest train station lies, plus has the benefit of a casino.

Further afield, at the end of the valley is Les Contamines (10km). It is part of the same ski area, though not connected by piste or lift. In summer, activities for all the family include: the Pontet Leisure Park, fishing, swimming, boating and even a dog sled park. www.lescontamines.com for more info.

Megève, at 10km, is at the heart of the Evasion Mt Blanc ski area. Although it may be a small resort, it has all the shopping and restaurants you could wish with an unlimited budget! Activities include the via ferrata, mountain biking, canyoning, hiking and more. www.megeve.com.

Of course, also nearby is the world famous Chamonix. At 24km, it is less than half an hour away by car and well worth the journey. Famous for the quantity, quality and variety of its off-piste skiing, it also has a fantastic array of activities in the summer. From paragliding to hikling to white water rafting and everything in between. Chamonix is also the base for: the Aguille du Midi (at 3842m / 12,605 ft is a 360 degree panorama with direct views of the peak of Mt Blanc.), Glacier des Bossons and much, much more. www.chamonix.com.

With a car, though not an extensive list, the following areas would be possible to visit: Albertville [Town - 42.5km], Beaufort [Town, Cheese - 53km], Anncey [Town, Shopping, Restaurants, Lake, Boating, Swimming, Cycling - 87.5km].

Alternative nearby ski resorts: Chamonix [24km], Argentiere [32km], Courmayeur [Italy via Mt Blanc tunnel, 41.5km] Samoens [46.5km], Flaine [48.5km], Verbier [Switzerland - 87.4km].

For road cyclists, there are plenty of climbs in the area. However, some of the more famous climbs include:

Col des Aravis [31.5km - 1486m], Col des Saises [33km - 1650m], Col de la Croix Fry [40km - 1477m], Le Grand-Bornand [44.5km - 944m], Col de la Colombiere [46.5km - 1613m].

New for this year, we have installed WiFi in the apartment. Therefore, you no longer need to go to the ground floor to get internet access. We offer this service free of charge to our residents.

Great location for skiing, comfortable and well appointed apartment

Great location for the lift up to Le Bettex, good to not have to walk a long way in ski boots carrying all the gear and storage downstairs. Easy walking distance from the centre of the village with loads of good places to eat.

Very clean and comfortable apartment, that had everything that you could need. Very easy check in/out and easy to find and Mme Bosviel really helpful on site.

No major problems at all, just a lack of space to prepare food in the kitchen, but on the flip side there was everything that you could need, just not a lot of space. Any other negatives just my preferences and certainly nothing that would stop me going back.

Overall a really nice apartment in a good location that I would happily return to.

Well worth a look

Great apartment - well situated for main gondola and easy stroll into town . Parking , wifi and ski locker all great bonuses . Linen was a bit scratchy and lifts a bit slow in the residence but these are minor quibbles and should not deter you from booking - 2 people was fab, 4 would be tight and 6 too many in my opinion

Ideal well equipped apartment for skiing and mountain walking.

We really enjoyed our stay in your apartment. What a great location and so well equipped. We enjoyed using both the raclette and fondu for family meals in the evenings. The 'information for guests' booklets in English and French give excellent detail although we rarely ventured anywhere except up the mountain. The wifi was both fast and constant, rather better than at home!. I strongly suspect that we will be back. Thank you. Francis & sons.

The only thing to wstch out for it the toilet whicheck if you lock it, ensure there's someone on the other side to let you out :). Does need looking at. Well stocked and great location to the lift up. Peter was a font of knowledge and very helpful. Thanks.

The property was great. Excellent location for the ski lift, village and wider facilities

The appartment was clean bright and very cosy. It had everything we needed. The kitchen and sitting area are really well kitted out. The beds are very comfy. We appreciated having access to hot water after skiing! Access to the wifi in the appartment is really quick and was highly valued by our teenage daughters! The ski lockers made access to the lifts easy. We appreciated help from Madam Bosveil in arranging a taxi for us on arrival at the station. We had a bit of a problem when one of our daughters (17) was unable to unlock the wash/ bathroom door. It had jammed. It did open after a few minutes of trying but we opted not to lock it after that.

Ideal apartment for the perfect holiday

We have just spent two weeks in this superb apartment. It is ideally located only 5 mins walk from the centre of town and only a few seconds walk from the telecabine station. The apartment has everything you need and is very well resourced. The view from the balcony is just stunning with views over to the snow capped mountain. A perfect setting for your morning coffee or sharing a bottle of wine in the evening. The apartment has a great selection of hikes and bike rides from the door. The use of the outdoor pool was an added bonus and made an ideal way of cooling down after a fantastic walk in the mountains. The pool was the perfect temperature and very clean. We had 6 of us staying for our second week so we made full use of the very comfy sofa bed. If you are looking for the perfect holiday then this is the apartment for you. We will return.
