About the property

Henry, A Four Bedroom Farmhouse For Up To Eight People

On entering the farmhouse through the front door there is a hallway opening through to a large open plan island kitchen, this carries through to the dining area with a high ceiling, opening up to the galleried landing upstairs. The kitchen/dining area opens through on the other side through to a cosy living room with comfortable seating, a log burning stove, TV and music centre. On the ground floor there is also a master bedroom with ensuite shower room, and a downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms sharing a bathroom and a further master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Both of the baths have overhead showers and are generously proportioned.

Henry is designed to accommodate up to eight people in four bedrooms and there is ample car parking for 4 cars to the side of the building. There is a south facing walled patio garden with barbecue area to the front of the house and a separate hedged lawn featuring a beautifully carved seat made from a tree stump, to the rear there is another garden area with a luxury log fired wooden hot tub.

All the bedrooms have super king-size zip and link beds which can be split into singles on request. The downstairs bedroom offers potential disabled access with an en-suite walk in shower which has a wet room flooring system.

Access ramps, shower stools, grab handles, cots and high chairs can be supplied on request and up to two z-beds could be added for children under 10 years old. Please bear in mind the property is designed for a maximum of eight people.

About William Stephenson

In 2012, Roy and William Stephenson, a father and son team, bought Henry at Holly House Farm at an auction of properties in the Hudswell area by the Ministry of Defence.

Henry at Holly House Farm is owned and run by the same family as Brompton Lakes, the award winning holiday lodge development near Easby, Richmond. Bookings, administration and day to day management are all operated by the Holiday at Home team.

William Stephenson purchased this farmhouse in 2012

Why William Stephenson chose North Yorkshire

The potential hadn't been immediately obvious, the property had been derelict and unoccupied for the past 30 years except, that is, by a small family of rare bats. With no water, electricity or telephone services, the task of development was never going to be easy but very challenging

What makes this farmhouse unique

However, with a bit of creative thinking and a lot of hard work, Henry at Holly House Farm has been transformed into a stunning and very individual holiday rental home.

Henry has been refurbished to a high standard with underfloor heating on the ground floor, state of the art kitchen with soft close units, integral appliances and granite work surfaces. An eye catching log burning stove forms the central point of the living area and every room oozes quality in terms of the interior design and specification.

The interiors have been designed by the acclaimed interior designer Rosie Mennem from Great Missenden in Buckinghamsire, the gardens and planting are by local landscape designer Louise Bainbridge from Middleton Tyas. We are delighted with the results and hope you will be too.

We are situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, one of the most beautiful parts of England. The surrounding area features outstanding scenery, a wide range of natural habitats and a rich cultural heritage. It's a rural location, a relaxing environment where you are surrounded by open fields and woodland yet within easy reach of the market town of Richmond and the Yorkshire Dales.

Richmond itself is a charming Georgian market town best-known for its impressive 11th century castle as well as being an eclectic melting pot of historic buildings, cobbled streets and ancient treasures. You'll find a good choice of pubs and plenty of places to eat, as well as shops to stock up on essentials and gifts, and of course, miles and miles of the best walking and mountain bike country in England.

As well as the grand castle - set in the heart of the town - there's further evidence of Richmond's Roman and Norman history at every turn with illustrated historic trails throughout the town. The Market Place is the central point from which to explore the meandering cobbled streets and nearby river walks dominated by high views of the castle walls, dating back to 1080 and said to be the oldest remaining walls in Britain. Architectural history abounds - such as the popular and recently-restored Georgian Theatre and Museum (the oldest of its kind in Britain) and Scollards Hall, one of England's most ancient domestic buildings.
