Overview

About the property

7 sleeps, 3 bedrooms, kitchen, sitting room, 2 bathrooms

The house with 3 levels was built in 3 different times. The first part goes back about 100 years ago, the second part about 80 years ago, the third - 30 years ago. The house is situated in an estate of approximately 7 hectares, surrounded by woods, with trees of chestnut, oak and larch that serve as shelter for many animals, and fields full of a thousand flowers. From our house start walking trails for hiking or biking in the park. We produce organic fruits such as ancient apples, avalanches, apples rosa romana, roselline pears, raspberries, blueberries and famous chestnut “marroni di Zocca”. Our farm does not use poisons and chemicals. The fruits and vegetables production is completely organic. We collect and let dry medicinal herbs. Even the animals on the farm live free and happy.

About Emanuela

My name is Emanuela. Together with my brother Andrew six years ago we have bought an old abandoned farm. In recent years we have recovered the meadows and forest by removing blackthorns and weeds. We have converted the whole farm with permanent methods of biological culture with respect for nature and animals.

We grow with passion our vegetable garden and orchards of ancient variety, helping pollination with our bees. The renovation of the old part of the house has been made in respect of the ancient form. The apartment is located on the second floor, but on request it is possible to have lunch or dinner in the garden in front of the woods.

What makes this apartment unique

Situated in the centre of a magnificent regional park, including medieval villages and wild nature, where all this you can admire the paintings of the great masters of the Renaissance period. All this is between the Reno and the Panaro two major rivers, where it is possible to find remnants of ancient civilizations of Etruscan times and all immersed in the typical mountains of the Apennines Emiliano-Romagnolo. It is possible to revive long-forgotten times of the ordinary life of the ancient villages with their countless food festivals popular. You can take long walks through the alleys and medieval yet their buildings, roads, churches, bell towers typically square - all in excellent condition. Walking or biking you can follow the many paths through the most picturesque corners of the park between our streams, waterfalls, woods of chestnut. In the hottest summer nights may be possible along paths lit by graceful insects that have the ability to light up with the spring return of a magnificent starry sky, called fireflies. It is possible to swim in the crystal waters of our rivers between clean air and fresh mountain air.

A 40 km: do not forget, between December and March, are the 127 km of slopes for skiing and snowboarding most beautiful in the Appenines.

We are between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian Sea, confine with Tuscany. A 100 km from Florence, 50 km from Bologna.

We hope you to find in these places your dreamed fantasies.

Notes:
We have one apartment on the second floor with magnificent views over the forest and meadows. It is possible to go archery. Once a week you can book for a home made pizza, backed by the farmer Andrea in the old wood stove using the yeast handed down for almost 80 years and the products of our land (15 € per person, per children up to 8 years without pay). The price exclude drinks. It is possible to enjoy a good English handicraft beer coming from the nearest brewery “White dog”. It is possible to book also for a romantic dinner by candlelight under the old pergola of vines, where you’ll be surrounded by the scent of meadows and woods with the background music of the song of the nightingale, owl and animals that live in our woods. The dinner is based on our typical dishes of our genuine mountain (home-made pasta, lasagna, tagliatelle Bolognese, tigelle and gnocco with meat and cheese, vegetables from our garden). It is possible to fulfil any requests of vegetarian too.

Beuatiful holiday at Casa Pratesi

  • 5 of 5

Awesome stay, we will be back!

  • 5 of 5

We have been there twice now and it was as good as it had been the first time. This time we have been there in autumn. We had some good times at the local maroni festival and we also enjoyed trips to venezia and tuscany, which you can reach in about 2,5 hours. We also cooked with the landlord twice. First we made pizza in the woodfired oven you can use and secound time the landlord provides us a beautiful boar, also made in his oven. The rooms were very clean and also well heated. The landlord and his family is very nice and willing to help you out if you have any issues. He also helps you out to get some really good local food products or some ideas where to spend your free time. The area is awesome and far away from touristic hot spot so you can really enjoy the landscape and of course italian food. We will be back.

We really enoyed our holiday at Casa dei Pratesi

  • 4 of 5

The house was very clean and comfortable and was decorated in a very tasteful way that seemed in keeping with the style of that part of Italy. The kitchen was very well equipped although I missed having a washing machine! The living room was light and airy and was a lovely place to eat if it was a bit chilly in the evenings. Uilia and Andrea were extremely helpful and made two wonderful meals for us during our stay. The grounds are extensive and very restful, with chickens, goats and horses roaming freely around. The swimming pool is quite small but big enough to have a splash around in and cool down. There is also a cold shower there to cool down and lots of sunbeds to relax in the sun. There is a hammock there too in the shade, which is really relaxing and a lovely place to read. The area is very beautful and there are lots of places to go ...Zocca is a small but really friendly town nearby with some really nice bars and small shops. Overall, my greatest pleasures on the holiday were the lovely food and drink to be sampled in the area but, most of all, the charming company and welcome of Uilia and Andrea - and their beautiful son Sasha. On our last day - when the weather was rainy, Andrea got the wood burning stove going for us and made us a chocolate cake so we sat and eat and read our books while the rain fell - very cosy. I would recommend this property as a holiday destination.

A home in the beautiful countryside!

  • 4 of 5

What a fabulous find this little gem was! A lovely home with the owners in residence, we had the entire top floor. Two bedrooms and a bath on one side and a lovely master suite on the other. Very efficient kitchen and a pleasant sitting room. There is no lift, however my 86 year old aunt and 75 yo mother had no problem with the stairs. The house and furnishings were very comfortable. The bathrooms great! The grounds are beautiful and the views...wow! We arrived just at the end of the season and had no luck with finding a restaurant in Zocca but the market was open. Everything closes up by 7pm. Thank you for a great though short stay.

Italien 2013

  • 5 of 5

August 2013 – the time has come at last and we (a group of 5 friends) travelled to Italy – with our ultimate goal: Emilia-Romagna. After looking around for a short time, we found this holiday accommodation.

The rooms are exactly like their pictures, very roomy and are mostly new furnished – particularly kitchen and baths.

The lessors are extremely friendly and helpful. They live in the same house as their guests (in this case – we). Highly recommended is the offered traditional “Emilia-Romagna”-Menu (prepared by the lessors), which tastes very well and freshly prepared. All the ingredients are from biological agriculture or even from the own garden. But not only fresh fruits can be found in the garden (you are allowed to eat what you want) – furthermore there are animals like cats (2x), one dog, chicken and one horse (not for eating). Even the own Pizza-oven can be used. Nothing is better than sitting in the garden – with a good local vine, a self-made pizza (with the best local farina we ever ate), the friendly lessors and the cute pets!

The region is well known for its quiet surroundings and the local full biological food from small fattorias. The road connection is very good. You can find nearly everything you need in the nearest town Zocca (for example shopping facilities, restaurants or an ATM – UniCredit). Other big cities can be achieved within the time listed or less. The region has good facilities for hiking – for example a lookout point, which you can reach comfortably.

But our most important target was something different: local, biological culinary delights. You can find a lot of small fattorias (for example for farina, Parmigiano Reggiano or rare cows – “Mucca Bianca Modenese”), in which you can take a look behind the scenes and buy some good local food. There are food-festivals at regular intervals. The region is well known for its excellent food like wild boar, roe-deer, deer, porcini mushrooms, chestnuts and also rarely truffels. Even excellent meat, ham and sausages can be acquired (for example from Parma).

If you have further questions feel free to contact the lessors, the email service is also perfect.

Thank you

We will be back
