This gorgeous, renovated 18th century Devon farmhouse can sleep up to 10 people with 5 wonderfully relaxing bedrooms. The Long House is hidden away in a truly picturesque and peaceful hamlet close to North Devon’s best beaches and footpaths.

The Long House is a fantastically presented, large family home with generous space for the whole family and a feeling of luxury throughout. The furnishings and finishes have been thoughtfully chosen and give the house a real sense of style. This property is an absolute treat and you are sure to have a happy stay – many of our guests come back every year.  

 

On the ground floor you will find the kitchen/dining room. This is a stunning, well equipped room with AGA oven, microwave, dishwasher, butler sink, American fridge/freezer, under-floor heating and table and chairs to seat up to 10 people comfortably. The fabulous country design and unique character features create a warm and cosy feel, making it the perfect place for entertaining or family mealtimes.  Attached to the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine and dryer plus separate WC. There is also a large boot room on the ground floor that provides a great space for man’s best friend, storing coats and shoes, leaving your main living space clutter free for you to enjoy.  

 

The main sitting room has been tastefully decorated and has a gorgeous open fire that is sure to keep you warm during the colder months of the year. There is generous comfortable seating for up to 8 people, with a flatscreen TV with freeview, Bose iPod speakers, and bookshelves with hundreds of novels for those evenings when you just want to relax. There is a second sitting room / snug that seats up to 7 people easily and is perfect for children and teenagers or anyone wanting some quiet. Decorated in a similar elegant style, you will find the added extra of an Xbox 360 attached to the flat screen TV. You certainly won’t be short on space to unwind in this special country retreat.

 

On the first floor there are 5 glorious bedrooms for you to enjoy after busy days exploring the local coast. All bed linen is white Egyptian cotton. The Master bedroom with Kingsize bed and modern en-suite shower room is simply gorgeous, with modern touches complimenting the traditional features. Bedrooms 2 and 3, both with zip and link beds that can be arranged as two standard size singles or a super-king, are again decorated and furnished to the highest standard. Each room offers lots of space alongside a tasteful colour palette to ensure that the very best, peaceful nights sleep is had by all.  There is a further double bedroom, plus one twin room that includes a trundle bed. Every bedroom has good storage available meaning that you can make the house a real home from home. Four of the five bedrooms have superb, original wooden floors, with a soft, good quality carpet found in the master room. 

 

The large family bathroom with wet room style open shower and original roll top bath is a real joy to behold. Decorated in a classic style, it is the perfect space to indulge in some top quality rest and recuperation. 

 

To the outside of the property, The Long House is approached via a gravelled driveway with generous parking and lawned garden to the side - bordered by a small stream.  The main walled garden is of a very good size, with a large lawn and paved terrace with table and chairs for that all important 'al-fresco' dining. The south-facing terrace also provides a great space for BBQs when the weather is at its best.

 

Fabulous walks can be easily accessed and enjoyed throughout the surrounding countryside, golden beaches and stunning coastline. Croyde Beach, Putsborough Sands and Saunton Beach and Golf Course are just a short drive away (approx 4 miles). These are a real must to visit during your time in North Devon. 

 

If you are a smaller party (2-6 people) but would still like to enjoy the luxury of this exquisite property, the Long House has the perfect solution for you! There is a fantastic opportunity for some of the bedrooms to be locked before your arrival, allowing this stunning, spacious house to be tailored specifically to your needs. Sleeping up to a maximum of 6 people makes the property affordable, while offering you the experience of staying in a larger and luxurious country hideaway. If you are a couple wishing to enjoy privacy and treat yourselves, the bedrooms can be sectioned off accordingly, leaving you with the master suite and ground floor rooms to yourselves. Guests wishing to book the property as a smaller let can request for the second downstairs living room to be opened for a small additional cost, however it will be locked before arrival unless stated otherwise. This is a brilliant opportunity to make the most of North Devon in style, leaving you with silver lined memories of a breath-taking property in a picture perfect location.
