About this property

Secluded 2 Bedroom Villa With Breathtaking Views Over the Caribbean Sea

Fabulous 2 bedroom villa with pool and fantastic sea views located on Montserrat the idyllic and untouched Caribbean Island. The villa is located on a half an acre lot of lush rainforest in the most exclusive Woodlands area of the island. The beach is just a short 7 minute walk down the hill, while the villa itself enjoys complete privacy and is not overlooked. Perfect for a romantic getaway or family holiday.

Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, while the kitchen has all the mod cons you could need to self cater. The large undercover veranda is the perfect place to enjoy sundowners or an evening meal, while looking out over the Caribbean Sea towards St Kitts & Nevis.

The villa comes with WiFi as standard, and there is a 50inch flat screen TV with PS3 for games or movies in the evenings. There is a weekly maid service, and airport pick-up included in the weekly rental. While linens and towels are provided. Car hire can also be arranged.

Relax on the veranda or in the pool, and escape the hustle and bustle of modern life. A little bit of paradise on this idyllic forgotten island, experience how the Caribbean use to be.

Potentially a fabulous villa - lots of plusses but also a few significant minuses
This could be a 5* villa. It enjoys beautiful panoramic views, great pool, reasonably secluded (there is a little used road that runs above and overlooks the villa), teeming with interesting wild-life, comfortable beds and comfortable accommodation generally. Yvette the housekeeper was attentive and responsive .... so what are the downers? The biggest one is access via a very steep drive. The drive is very broken up and you can not get a car up it. This means the car is left on the track below and necessitates negotiating the steep drive by foot which is downright dangerous and slippery when wet. I believe there are plans to attend to this but in the short term, just some steps cut into the very steep bank to the side, might help overcome this. The lighting is very poor. Some we never managed to find out how to operate but most of the switches are not obvious as to where they are or what they operate. In addition, the lighting is dreadful for night reading - both in the bedroom and in the lounge area. The bulb wattage is far to low for comfortable reading and although there are claims that electricity is expensive, a reasonable reading lamp / bedside lamp is an essential. Some of the doors did not operate well. The bedoom door stuck and has done for some time it appears, looking at the marks. The external kitchen door regularly got out of alignment on it's track and could only be closed (or sometimes opened) by going outside and physically lifting it, a herculean task in its own right. We ourselves are of an age but I could foresee some people claiming compensation should they slip and fall heavily on the drive or put their back out lifting that door. We arrived having to quarantine for 5 days. Although there is a great flat screen TV we were not able to operate it ... there was an obsolete phone tangled up in a sea of wires and cables and none of it made any sense at all. We didn't want to use an X-box or whatever ... but it might have been nice to receive contact from the outside world via the telly. The wifi eventually worked perfectly well (given some over the phone instructions from Yvette) so thank goodness for our i-pads! One saving grace for our quarantine period (we were only there for 9 days, 5 of which were in strict quarantine!!) was a very interesting library with a rather eclectic set of books. Whilst there I managed to order 4 of the books on Amazon which were at home awaiting our return! I'm afraid 5* this is not but ......

A Tranquil Tropical Hideaway
Stayed in May 2019. From the moment we entered this house, we loved it! It is so light and spacious, with leafy trees all around, and a happy summery atmosphere. For some reason, I could imagine Dean Martin on the porch, sipping cocktails in the 1950’s! The pool is 2 steps from your bedroom, and the verandah looks directly onto the sunset, with a stunning display every night (and colourful friendly iguanas to share it with!). The kitchen is well-stocked and there are lots of interesting books to read, with even a helpful guide to the local birds. There are extra touches too, such as snorkelling equipment laid on. It all feels easy, relaxed and immersed in nature. The beach is just down the road - nobody on it at all - and there are enough interesting things to do. Montserrat Island Tours, with Sun, is an absolute must, and try to see the sweeping view of the volcano and its path, from Garibaldi Hill too. Yvette (the housekeeper) and Mr Gage from the car-hire looked after us well. Montserrat is a charming, laid-back, somehow old-fashioned and sweet island - and Crow’s Nest is the perfect house to go with it.

Wonderful
The villa was all that it says in the description and more. I would not hesitate to return or to recommend to friends. Tom was so helpful prior to our arrival. Answered all questions and went out of his way to help with ferry time tables etc. Tom's representative in Montserrat - Yvette - was just wonderful. She picked us up, helped us getting our local license, help us settle in, was a fountain of knowledge. She kindly helped us book local tours, was there when our ferry was delayed. She really was the most helpful attentive representative. It was with a twinge of sadness we left and the only regret was that we did not book to stay longer. Thank you Tom for sharing your villa and all your help. Yvette - you really were wonderful

Great place for a peaceful getaway
Very peaceful and quiet. Ocean view is fantastic, especially the sunsets. Pool is great - just enough sun or shade all day. I highly recommend staying here.

We're a young and growing family, with a 4y old girl and 1.5y old boy (as of Mar 2018). We live in Bedford, UK about 50 miles north of London. Tom works in London, while Chrystal looks after the kids and family home.

Why they chose this property

Crows Nest is a beautifully designed 2 bedroom villa, with stunning panoramic views over the Caribbean Sea. We fell in love with the view, the design of the villa and the secluded setting.

What makes this property unique

Unlike a lot of villa's in Montserrat, Crows Nest is immersed in the natural vegetation on the 0.5 acre plot and surrounds, which gives a very secluded feel, which when combined with the view is really quite unique.
The pool is great and also benefits from the amazing views over the ocean.
