Beautiful 65 m2 Studio Apartment with an amazing view across the Atlantic Ocean

Narfakot is an ocean front farmhouse by a lighthouse with a private beach.

The house is superbly placed, it is separated into two flats and the family stays downstairs. The studio flat has two double beds and a futon, one bed is 160X200 cm with a view over the sea , the other bed is 150X200 cm, an extra bed can be placed if needed. There is well equipped kitchen with a view towards the mountains, the bathroom is downstairs with a shower. The balcony faces the sea and is perfect for enjoying the northern lights, the midnight sun or the morning breeze.

Outside is a patio. The horses, hens and dogs at Narfakot make it a great place for children to stay, discover nature and geology. Day trips and hikes in the lunar landscape of volcanoes, lava fields and hot springs and birdwatching by the sea shore are unforgettable experiences. Narfakot is at a short distance from the Blue lagoon, Keflavíkairport and Reykjavík city.

Great choice!

This apartment is close to the city and airport, yet far enough away to be quiet and have a wonderful, peaceful view. Great base for Reykjavik day trips.

Be sure to bring apples for the ponies and treats for Raven, the dog.

Read the property description carefully and the other reviews. This is a wonderful apt., but it is a farm stay and not a hotel. We loved it, but make sure you can navigate the stairs.

The deck overlooking the lighthouse and ocean and ponies is a place you will not want to leave.

Amazing-Northern Lights viewed from private balcony overlooking Atlantic Ocean

We have stayed at many properties all over the world... This was by far one of our most favorite!! Very clean, spacious, welcoming and waking up to the views of ocean, farm and lighthouse were absolutely breathtaking!! We stood on the private balcony for hours watching the northern lights dance to the sound of ocean waves! And when it got too cold and windy to watch from there... We went inside to our beds where there were skylights placed over the beds to watch aurora show or gaze at stars. The owner was very friendly and welcomed us late at night to her property. There were fresh baked treats waiting for us along with a fine selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate! I highly recommend this house... And it is very convenient to some of the best sights in Iceland, although you may not even want to leave the property at all!!!

By the Lighthouse was perfect in every way! We are also VRBO owners that rent our South Carolina beach house. With 33 five-star reviews, we try extra hard to provide the best experience for our own guests, and of course, expect that same level of service in return when we travel. By the Lighthouse did not disappoint during our two-night stay. The description is accurate and the photos are current. There were three of us and the loft had more space than we needed, and was very clean. The bathroom was large enough and also very clean and updated. In advance, Dagmar provided us a lot of information about things to see and do (which we did and they were great) as well as detailed directions which were vital as area is off the beaten path. She greeted us with traditional Icelandic bread, apples and some eggs from her own chickens. The kitchen is well-stocked with extras you don't usually find in a rental. The weather was cold and windy but our enthusiasm was not dampened with so many breathtaking views out of each window. We could sit at the kitchen table and see both the snow-covered mountains in the distance and our daughter playing with the family dog down in the yard. The grazing sheep and horses provided never-ending entertainment and looked great in our videos and photos. Our family walk over lava rocks towards the lighthouse was so memorable. We really hated to leave Lighthouse by the Sea. Most certainly we would recommend it to anyone travelling to Iceland. It's close to the airport and other important sights, yet very secluded and private. Truly, it's a unique opportunity to lodge on the same property as a lighthouse, sheep, horses, chickens and a dog. We loved it!

A stunningly beautiful location.

A wonderful place for relaxing and taking in nature. The owners were very friendly & accommodating. The loft has everything you need for a short or long stay. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the birds, horses, and the waves. A perfect setting! Definitely, we plan to return. Thank you, Dagmar.

Beautiful place by the water

We stayed here for our last night in Iceland. The place is amazing- right by the water with a lighthouse nearby! We enjoyed walking around looking at the horses and chickens. Close the to the blue lagoon (about 20 minutes away). Has a small kitchen so we were able to make eggs for breakfast! Loved our stay here and will definitely be back.

About Dagmar Eiriksdottir

We are a family of four and a dog. We keep horses on the fields around the house and enjoy them throughout the year. Our chickens provide fresh eggs and are an endless source of joy as they run or stroll their way around the property.

We are all passionate about the nature of Iceland and enjoy travelling ourselves. For over ten years we have been working in the highlands during summers as hut wardens, welcoming and taking care of hikers from all over the world.

We are happy to welcome you and hope we may make your stay pleasurable.

On a clear day it is possible to see Snæfellsjökull glacier where in November 1993 people from all over the world gathered to welcome the UFO´S that were expected to land at the foot of this magical volcano. In winter you can indulge your senses watching the Northern Lights dancing in the heavens.
