Guestbook comments from the owner
This is our third stay in Collioure, and each time we've stayed in different houses or apartments around the same district as this house. This is probably the best one that we stayed out, because although it doesn't have any garden space or parking, it does have a lovely light airy feel to it, and the road outside is very quiet because there are no cars. The sitting room is lovely and light, and the bathrooms are very good. The kitchen is great for cooking, and we really appreciated the utility room. Best of all though is the location. It's so easy to pop down to the beach, or pop back to the house, and Faubourg is one of the few areas of Collioure that remains quite neighbourly and un-touristy.

From the Owner
“We have loved France for many years and travelled widely over it. Collioure has (for us) a magical combination, with its views of both the mountains and the sea. Steeped in history, a centre for art, wonderful food and wine plus scope for exercise - what more could one want ?”
Activity and Interests
Collioure is soaked in history; you can visit the Chateau Royal, the Fort St Elme, the Church with its “feet in the water”, the restored windmill, and the old anchovy factories.
Its sunshine and the quality of the light has lured artists such as Derain, Matisse, Picasso and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. There are still many artists studios here today.
Aside from the four beautifully clean beaches with very safe swimming in startlingly clear water, you will find a scuba-diving school for the more adventurous, or you can go snorkelling, hire pedaloes, go kayaking or windsurfing, or take a boat trip down the coast.
Best of all, Collioure rejoices in a long tradition of good food, which is reflected in its wealth of restaurants at every level, twice weekly markets, and excellent local wines.
If you can tear yourselves away from Collioure there are many places in the region to see, whether you like castles and history, art, nature, or sport.
