Overview

About the property

Stunning Sea View Apt on the Ramparts in the Old Town of Antibes

In a unique location with breathtaking panoramic views of the sea, mountains, sandy beach, Fort Carré and Port Vauban, you’ll experience a magical atmosphere here for your holiday. We affectionately call the apartment 'Place de Rêves' (Place of Dreams) as the building’s entrance is just off the ‘Place de Revely’ in the Old Town of Antibes. It is on the 3rd (top) floor in the building next to the former home of the artist Nicolas de Staël. The apartment has 2 balconies, 1 in the bedroom and 1 off the living room. The bedroom is Air Conditioned with a king-sized bed (160 x 200cm) and there is a large sofa bed (170 x 200cm) in the living room. The sunny and spacious living room comes equipped with a Roland digital piano overlooking the marina. Best of all, the Mediterranean Sea lies just outside so the views are quite stunning!

The apartment is located a one-minute walk through the Place de Revely and under the Roman arch of the Old City wall to the famous market called the ‘Marché Provençal’ where you’ll find fresh local produce. Within a few meters is the world acclaimed Picasso Museum where he worked in the 1940s and where you’ll find a stunning collection of his paintings and ceramics. Picasso painted his "La Joie de Vivre" in Antibes in 1946. Today, Antibes still embodies The Joy of Life.

Possibly the most perfectly-situated apartment in Antibes, you’ll find a large choice of restaurants, shops, and cafes within easy walking distance (2 minutes or less!). The apartment provides an ideal setting for a car-less vacation on the French Riviera. We can provide for pick-up and drop-off at Nice (NCE) Airport if needed at an extra charge.

The fantastic views make the open plan kitchen/living room/dining area a natural gathering area for relaxing, and cooks will appreciate the well-appointed kitchen. The kitchen includes an electric oven, electric cooker with glass hob, microwave, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer combo, Nespresso machine, milk frother and coffee presses (cafetières) in two sizes. All fittings are high quality and the kitchen will have everything you need to cook fine food at home.

Whether you're lingering over a pain au chocolat and coffee on the balcony table-for-2 for breakfast or you’re proudly serving dinner made from fresh Provençal ingredients you purchased at the market on the dining table (seats 6), you’ll enjoy the ever changing views of the Mediterranean below.

The well-appointed bathroom has a shower, tub and towel warmer.

For exploring further afield, the apartment is a 10-minute walk to trains/buses to Cannes, Nice, Monaco, and the Nice airport. Ski resorts in the Alps are located within a 1.5-2 hour drive (Isola 2000 & Auron).

Your rental includes an "arrival starter kit" (toilet paper, paper towel roll, soap, coffee, tea, milk, wine and water), cleaning (for a 2 guest rental, a £50.00 charge will be added for 3 or more guests), bed linen, towels, beach towels & beach gear, electricity, water, WiFi, and phone calls to fixed lines in most parts of the world (Europe, Continental USA and Canada) and phone calls to mobile phones in the continental USA and Canada. Please note, you will be charged from your deposit for all other calls.

We recommend that you give yourselves this treat!!!

  • 5 of 5

First, to Judy and Jonathan:

We simply can not thank you enough for your superb hospitality, looking after every single detail... from thinking of every imaginable extra that we as vacation renters might want or need in an apartment, to being there for us if we had any questions. You truly made our time in Antibes memorable and fun!!! Thank you both.

To other vacation renters:

This superb apartment is the best we've found in the 30 years that we've been coming to Antibes. Exactly as pictured, and better. The most exciting moment is opening the French Doors over the sea and experiencing the sea breeze and sounds of the sea gently below you. As for the stairs that another reviewer mentioned, I have to say that I was pleasingly surprised that they were not steep and only 2 and one half flights. It looks much higher than that in the photo and i was a little hesitant because I have a hip issue and my husband has a knee issue. But neither of us had a problem going us multiple times a day, and we felt fitter everyday! So don't be put off if that is your situation.

Another plus in addition to the priceless view and stunning apartment is that our favorite restaurant, Cafe des Chineur with amazing lunchtime specials, is just a few steps from the front door. We adore it at night too for dinner or a glass of wine on candlelit tables. And in addition there must be 50 restaurants within 2 city blocks of this property.

We just can not say enough good things about this property, and as world travellers we recommend that you give yourselves this treat. You won't be disappointed. The owners seem to derive great pleasure from providing superb service and accomodation, and it's wonderful to be on the receiving end!

Thanks again Jonathan and Judy,

Christine

Glorious apartment, remarkable hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

We've rented many a vrbo and homeaway, and this one takes the cake in terms of surpassing expectations. Judy and Jonathan met us in front to help us with our stuff up the stairs, explained all the apartment's many useful functions, recommended restaurants, and then we were simply transfixed with the view. It might be the best or 2nd best in Antibes, with the Alps, port, beach, and sea!! Very comfortable bed, nice bathroom with bathtub, private bedroom, wonderful light coming from several directions in living room. They then met us to help bring our stuff back down for our departure. Grab if you can!!!

Anniversary Visit over New Years 2018

  • 5 of 5

We have to strongly agree with all the other comments about this apartment and our hosts (Jonathan and Judy). Not only was it a great apartment with a wonderful view (it is located in the old section of Antibes), Jonathan and Judy were amazing in that they picked us up at the airport (50 Euros which is better than a taxi or Uber) and they provided us with a welcome kit when we arrived (bottle of wine, butter, milk, etc). They were very communicative prior to and during the trip (they sent us complete information about the apartment and the area). In addition, they were always available when we needed them and made several dinner reservations for us (even for New Years eve...they were able to get us into an amazing restaurant for dinner). The apartment was clean, furniture comfortable, and the bed was great.

After looking at several places in the French Riviera to celebrate our sixth anniversary together, we were so glad we chose to stay here. The old section of Antibes was exactly what we were looking for (lots of character with a small town feel) and the apartment was just what we needed. Being that it was off season, the crowds were not an issue and it was pretty much us and the locals in the evening.

Thanks so much Jonathan and Judy for a great trip. We had a great time!

Wonderful apartment!

  • 5 of 5

I’ve had a great few days staying at Jonathan and Judy’s wonderful apartment! I was previously familiar with Antibes and as soon as I saw the pictures of the apartment and the location I decided I had to stay there. Waking up in the morning to hear the sea and eating breakfast on the balcony seeing the views, looking at the boats and early morning swimmers was fantastic! The apartment was bright, spacious, comfortable and homely. The bedroom had plenty of space with a very comfortable mattress, being a back sufferer I need a comfortable bed! The room also had air conditioning/heating. A lovely bathroom with heated towel rail and soaps/shower gel provided. A large kitchen with everything you could need was available, even an implement to open your oysters! A starter kit was provided of milk, butter, tea, coffee, bottles of water and bottle of rose, to enjoy whilst watching the wonderful views. The lounge/dining area was bright and spacious with doors opening onto the balcony. I didn’t need to be concerned about carrying my bags up and down the stairs to the apartment, I was collected from the airport (at a charge) and returned to the airport, which included carrying my bags, thank you to David and Nicky for collecting me and showing me around. From making the booking, to arriving at the apartment and on departure day, Jonathan and Judy were extremely helpful and available all the time during my stay in case I needed anything. I will definitely be visiting Antibes again and wanting to stay at this wonderful apartment! Thank you Jonathan and Judy!

Wonderful welcome and perfect sea view

  • 5 of 5

We had a perfect long weekend in Antibes thanks to the warm hospitality of Johnathan and Judy and the gorgeous location of their apartment. We spent quite a few hours in the chairs on the balcony taking in the sea view! It's proximity to the many attractions of the Old Town can not be beaten!

It was the little touches however that made the stay so special... the chilled rose on arrival, the nespresso pods, the deck chairs and even a surprise birthday gift! Their recommendations were spot on and they went out of their way to make our trip perfect.

We can not recommend this property enough and we are already planning a return trip!

Thanks again for a marvellous weekend :)

12 Magical Nights!

  • 5 of 5

Just departed from the most awesome stay! We aren't sure what was the highlight to make the apartment stay the best. The incredible views, the warmth and welcome of our hosts Judy and Jonathon or the comfort of the accommodations. Everything you need is here including a space heater for the cool mornings and evenings when you still want to sit on the terrace or have the large French doors open! Judy and Jonathon helped us plan our stay and made reservations for us at all the wonderful restaurants in the area and hilltop towns. Don't miss a visit to St Paul de Venice and the Columbe d'Or restaurant which features artwork from all the masters who traded art for their food bills and visit to Foundation Maeght. Biot for glassblowing and glass purchase and lunch at Les Terrailiers and Leger Museum, Eze and Chateau Eza, Monte Carlo and a visit to the Museum Oceanographique followed by lunch at Pacific Restaurant, Club 55 St Tropez, and several wonderful restaurants right in Antibes. We had a wonderfully perfect week thanks to Judy and Jonathon. They truly are the hostesses with the mostesses! But finally after all is said and done it is the view that we are going to miss most! The Gravette Beach with all its activity of swimmers, and beach goers, Antibes harbor with its boats entering and exiting, including a visit by Dilbar over 512 feet and the 3rd largest private yacht in the world, plus the sailing regattas right out our window. We could almost touch the sailboats! We will be be back again! Au revoir!

What makes this apartment unique

Stunning panoramic sea views. Everything you would want or need within 1 minute walking distance from the cobbled streets of the Old Town. Including a sandy beach right below the living room balcony.
