About the property

6 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms And Large Garden In Popular New Forest Village

A truly stunning Picturesque New Forest Cottage in the heart of the village of Woodgreen. Centrally located with a pub and village store in close proximity but also only a short walk to the Village Green and open forest beyond. This 300-year-old thatched cottage has all the charm you would expect of a period property but also with all the modern conveniences of a newly refurbished and decorated property. In addition, recently completed a new wooden conservatory, new ground floor wet-room, and a new double carport with a playroom above.

On the ground floor, there is one double bedroom with an en-suite wet room. Ideal for disabled access. A large kitchen/diner opening out onto the new conservatory an outdoor seating area ideal for al fresco eating; a lounge with a wood burner and 40' television and a dining room with seating for up to 12.

On the first floor, there is a master bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a cloakroom, a family bathroom with corner bath, separate shower and window seat, and one twin bedroom and one double bedroom. On the second floor, there are one double bedroom and one twin bedroom with a secret staircase.

Outside there is a very large mature garden with an abundance of shrubs and flowers. PLEASE NOTE A small shallow stream runs through the garden at the rear. A trampoline and barbeque are also provided. We have now added a summer house to the rear of the garden to enjoy the afternoon sun.

To the front of the property, there is parking for up to 6 cars, we have constructed a double carport now offering a play/hobby room above the carport which is approached via stairs at the rear. This has a table tennis table, table football, and electronic dart board.

Love Lane is a private track that provides vehicular access to two other properties. Turning right out of Love Lane takes you to the Village Green and open Forest beyond. The Horse and Groom public house can be found at the end of this lane. The community run village store which also has a post office and small coffee shop can be found further along the main road running through the village. The store sells a wide range of locally sourced produce and the pub has an excellent selection of beers and food.

Great holiday, 11 of us to celebrate 70th birthday for the first weekend - then there was 2!

We all loved Beck Cottage, it must be said that when required the property management provided an excellent service.

Beautiful Cottage, perfect for family gathering

  • 5 of 5

50th birthday celebration with family, 12 guests ranging from ages 11 to 86. Everyone loved the cottage. Home from home, but better. Warm and welcoming as we arrived, plenty of hot water for everyone and enough space that we weren't under each others feet. The children loved the little nooks and crannies and the twin room in the attic. They especially loved the games room. Our only criticism was that the oven and hob didn't really seem up to the job of catering for twelve people, but saying that we managed to cook an evening meal and full English breakfast; this is more of an observation than criticism.

Wonderful holiday accommodation

  • 5 of 5

The cottage more than met our expectations: fantastic amount of space for our party of nine, beautiful furnishings, thoughtfully equipped right down to steps in the bathrooms for small children, and a lovely garden as a bonus.

A Hidden Gem in The New Forest

  • 4 of 5

A beautiful cottage hidden in a little village near Fordingbridge. The perfect venue for my husband's 65th birthday. It was great for all the family 8 adults and 4 little ones, we were able to enjoy the cottage and had a wonderful Pirate party in the garden !

We hired Luke Shaw Catering to cook us a meal at the venue on the Saturday night. it was all brilliant and I would recommend them to anyone with a large or small party to caterer for. A good time was had by all .

First class.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 13 stayed at this lovely thatched cottage for a weekend birthday celebration and we were delighted with it. The furniture and furnishings were first class and the kitchen was very well stocked . We couldn't have asked for more.

The kitchen was an ideal place for the 6 young children to eat whilst the dining room with its superb huge table was perfect for our celebratory evening meal .

The house had a very welcome feel to it . It is situated in a very friendly village with a local store and we were able to enjoy walks from the cottage and also visit the next door pub where we booked Sunday lunch .

Definitely a place we would recommend and return to should we go back to the New Forest .
