In a 16th century Farm (Bastide Provençale), at the feet of the superb medieval village of Le Castellet, at 5 minutes driving distance from Bandol and the beaches:

charm and authenticity in the homeland of novel writer and film maker Marcel Pagnol. We offer you to share the unique atmosphere left by our ancestors in 3 charming provence style apartments and a historical cottage for 2-8 persons. All 4 carry names of Pagnol’s film caracters and each of them has its own personality.

They all have private shaded terraces and private entrances. They have in common: a large swimming pool (11 x 5,5 m) on a property of 3000 sqm. facing the vineyards and a private parking.

A dream of peaceful and untouched surroundings, where the easiness of live and the famous «accent provençal » cherished by Marcel Pagnol himself still persists. Here, the vineyards of the world famous Bandol and the bronze coloured olive-trees are deployed as far as the eye can see.

Small historical stone-built cottage PANISSE is located next to the main house at a few feet from the swimming pool. In former times it gave shelter to the animals of the farm. It has been fully renovated in 2004, is very charming, comfortably furnished and well equipped with a private terrace protected by a provençal pergola.

The new fully equipped american kitchen has been elegantly integrated into the living room. The wooden structure of the roof has been kept visible just like the stone build wall. Every square cm of surface has been preciously planned in order to optimize the comfort of the inhabitants. Opening the large window panes first thing in the morning will offer you a great view on the swimming pool. A dinner on your private terrace next to the pool will close the day in company of the cicada chorus!

About the Owner

I am originally from Provence and Mas du Galantin was my first step towards returning back to my home turfs.

What was first a hobby, became a profession with the acquisition of a second Mas in Bandol. Renovating houses is one of my passions.

Our son is another one. He is a very lively little boy and likes to visit Mas du Galantin from time to time.

What I like most about the rental business is the many encounters it allows. Meeting our guests and seeing them happy during there holidays gives me great satisfaction !

Très agréable séjour passé à Panisse en août 2015 et avril 2016. Nos enfants de 10 et 12ans ont bien apprécié la piscine. Location bien aménagée et propre.

Nous recommandons vivement. C'est l'endroit idéal pour se ressourcer en toute tranquillité. Nous avons tous hâte d'y retourner.

Beautiful location for a relaxing holiday.

We had a lovely two weeks in Provence, staying for one week in Panisse and another in Fanny. All the accommodation was kept to the highest standard and was as described. The Nespesso coffee machines were greatly appreciated. We found everything we needed for self catering with two young children. We especially enjoyed the barbecues. The pool area was beautiful and very well maintained and swimming there was a highlight for us all. Staying in Panisse, we enjoyed the pool views. The location was great, surrounded by beautiful vineyards and hills, yet only a ten minute drive to some beautiful beaches in Bandol and elsewhere. We especially enjoyed the beach at Renecros in Bandol. We also enjoyed buying fresh produce at the Wednesday market in Sanary-sur-Mer. There was an excellent supermarket nearby too. We found everyone very friendly and welcoming and had a great stay. Inside the apartment there was an excellent information folder with detailed maps of the area and excursion ideas.

Provençalisches Kleinod

Wir verbrachten zwölf wunderbare Ferientage im Ferienhaus "Panisse" auf dem ehemaligen Winzerhof "Mas du Galantin". Wer die Provence schätzt und gleichzeitig die Nähe zum Meer nicht missen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Sanary-sur-Mer (sehr zu empfehlen!) ist in ca. 15 Autominuten zu erreichen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es schon nach ca. 5 Autominuten. Wer lieber die schöne Provence-Landschaft genießen möchte, sollte sich unbedingt das alte Bergdorf Le Castellet mit seinen hübschen Geschäften und Restaurants und dem tollen Blick auf die sanften Hügel mit ihren Weinfeldern anschauen.

Das Anwesen selbst haben die netten Eigentümer sehr geschmackvoll im provençalischen Stil restauriert. Das Ferienhaus ist klein, aber gemütlich eingerichtet, für zwei Personen ist es auf jeden Fall ausreichend. Das Highlight ist natürlich der traumhafte, große Swimmingpool, den wir während unseres Urlaubs sogar für uns hatten und fast jeden Tag genossen haben.

Der Winzerhof hat eine besondere Atmosphäre, in der man sich gut entspannen kann. Abends ist er sehr schön beleuchtet, so dass langen Abenden auf der Terrasse bei einem Glas Wein nichts im Wege steht. Wir können dieses wunderschöne Feriendomizil auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

A really magical destination in Provence

We recently stayed in the Cottage at the Mas Du Galantin in Le Castellet and it was a really fantastic experience. The Cottage was even better than we expected, ideal for 2 people or a family with 2 children. The property was really clean and well maintained. The facilities in the Cottage were brilliant, everything you need. The owner has done a really fantastic job with the renovations of the whole property. The location in the hills was magical and an easy 20 minute drive to the coastal town of Bandol. The property is nestled in the hills and with the blue sky and fresh air, you felt like you were in your own little world. The owner visited us a few times and was always contactable which was a real help when needing tips for day trips and good local restaurants. The Rose wine from the area is world famous and we enjoyed many a glass watching the sunset by the pool. There are many great local restaurants in Bandol and surrounding towns. This is by far the best holiday I have had for a long time and with blue skies, good food, great company and fantastic wine, I would highly recommend Mas Du Galantin to all my family and friends.....I hope to go back there next year.

Mas du Galantin is in it's 11th season and ever since we bought the property we continuously improved it based on our guests' suggestions. One of our original dreams, the renovation of the facade, finally came true last winter. The stone structure we found under the plaster was beautiful and the local team of masons did a wonderful finishing job. We sincerely hope to see you back next year and have a glas of Rosé together!

Ce petit message pour dire que nos vacances ont été tout simplement géniale!!!!!

Ce mas je vous l'assure vaut vraiment le détour. Nous y avons passé nos vacances cet été et nous comptons y retourner dès que possible.

La maisonnette est super partique, super mignonne, nous avons adoré.

La piscine juste devant nous au réveil, c'est le pied assuré.

Nous avons rencontré les propriétaires lors de notre séjour, ce sont des gens très accueillant, très sympathique......

Merci à eux d'avoir construit ce petit coin de paradis....

Cosy provencal cottage

We had a lovely time in this small cottage Panisse with the four of us.

Enjoying the provencal life like outside dining and drinking Bandol wines next to the swimming pool.

The property is clean and well maintained and perfecty located in a quiet place between Bandol, La Cadiere and Le Castellet betwwen the wine ranks.

This is definitely a place to come back.

Our guests benefit from a very nice view on the pool area from the living room. This year we enriched its equipment with a plancha grill, located on the large terrace. Panisse is a perfect rental for a family with 2 children appreciating to sleep in bunk beds.

I always dreamt of owning an old Mas. Mas du Galantin is the realisation of my dream. The renovation of the Mas took all in all about 2 years and I continuously improve the quality and the comfort of the premises. To preserve the style of Provence is very important for me. I am a fan of gardens and put all my love into the garden of Mas du Galantin. And here again the provence touch is important as I use only plants from our region. From the first visit on, I felt very positive vibrations at Mas du Galantin and many of our guests confirmed me this. You are close to the beaches, the pulsing life and the tourist attractions but when coming back to the Mas your relaxation time starts immediately.

MAS DU GALANTIN is located at Le Plan du Castellet, small village located between the famous medieval village of Le Castellet (2 min driving distance) and the famous seaside resort of Bandol (5 min driving distance). Easily accessible (via A50 Marseille-Toulon highway or 45 min. driving distance from Marseille airport), it is surrounded by and presents beautiful views of the vineyards of the famous Bandol AOC as well as the Gros Cerveau mountain chain. Lots of sports activities within short distance and very diverse sightseeing spots nearby.

The Bandol area has a wonderful microclimate with pluviometry not exceeding 650 m/m per year. Bandol is a true seaside resort. Many sand beaches, cliffs, inlets and creeks are all part of this natural environment and are surrounded by hills of pines and willows.
