Apartment FANNY (2-4 persons)

Apartment FANNY is located at the back of the Mas du Galantin and occupies a portion built between the 17th and the 18th century. It previously gave shelter to the vineyard workers during the season. This is reflected in the pleasant distribution of the rooms, starting with the fully renovated living/dining room . The wooden structure of the roof that has been kept visible just like the stone build wall.

The renovated well equipped kitchen has a very nice view on the vineyards. In the sleeping rooms, the simplicity of the ancient times goes well together with the vividly coloured fabrics.

One of the sleeping rooms has direct access to the private 20 sq meter patio-terrace where the BBQ-fans will be delighted by the perfectly working installations. The large table invites the inhabitants of Fanny to gather at the terrace, whenever there is an opportunity!

In a 16th century Farm (Bastide Provençale), at the feet of the superb medieval village of Le Castellet, at 5 minutes driving distance from Bandol and the beaches:

charm and authenticity in the homeland of novel writer and film maker Marcel Pagnol. We offer you to share the unique atmosphere left by our ancestors in 3 charming provence style apartments and a historical cottage for 2-8 persons. All 4 carry names of Pagnol’s film caracters and each of them has its own personality.

They all have private shaded terraces and private entrances. They have in common: a large swimming pool (11 x 5,5 m) on a property of 3000 sqm. facing the vineyards and a private parking.

A dream of peaceful and untouched surroundings, where the easiness of live and the famous «accent provençal » cherished by Marcel Pagnol himself still persists. Here, the vineyards of the world famous Bandol and the bronze coloured olive-trees are deployed as far as the eye can see.

About Karyn Vermast-Bissuel

I am originally from Provence and Mas du Galantin was my first step towards returning back to my home turfs.

What was first a hobby, became a profession with the acquisition of a second Mas in Bandol. Renovating houses is one of my passions.

Our son is another one. He is a very lively little boy and likes to visit Mas du Galantin from time to time.

What I like most about the rental business is the many encounters it allows. Meeting our guests and seeing them happy during there holidays gives me great satisfaction !

The renovation of the Mas took all in all about 2 years and I continuously improve the quality and the comfort of the premises. To preserve the style of Provence is very important for me.

I am a fan of gardens and put all my love into the garden of Mas du Galantin. And here again the provence touch is important as I use only plants from our region.

From the first visit on, I felt very positive vibrations at Mas du Galantin and many of our guests confirmed me this.

You are close to the beaches, the pulsing life and the tourist attractions but when coming back to the Mas your relaxation time starts immediately.

Für Urlauber ohne große Ansprüche, die sich vom Autobahnlärm nicht stören lassen.

Das Anwesen sieht auf den Fotos besser aus als es ist. Es ist nicht wirklich schön gepflegt.

Vor Buchung wurde uns zugesichert, dass man die in der Nähe liegende Autobahn nicht hören würde. Das stimmt nicht. Die Autobahn ist die ganze Zeit zu hören. Das ist im Urlaub sehr störend.

Die Wohung Fanny ist nicht so, wie auf den Fotos wiedergegeben. Sie ist dunkel und muffig. Wenn man zur Tür reinkommt, steht man im Schlafzimmer. Die Wohnung Marius ist sehr groß, allerdings können Personen über 1,40m das Doppelschlafzimmer unter dem Dach nicht nutzen, da man dort nicht stehen kann. Im Hochsommer wird es dort unerträglich warm und stickig.

Die Wohnungen waren allerdings sehr sauber und mit Waschmaschine und allem eingerichtet. Der Mietpreis ist nicht gerechtfertigt. Als Ausgangspunkt zum Meer und den Badeorten ideal.

Brilliant location

5 minutes from the coast but in a quiet village we found this location had the best of both worlds. So much to do in the area - 2 weeks was not enough! We stayed in apartment 'Fanny' - needs a bit of updating and although it had pretty much all we needed the mattress on the double bed really needs replacing - both came away with back-ache after 2 weeks! Would also benefit from more comfortable, relaxing chairs. Swimming pool was great and used a lot in the hot weather. Had a great first week but second week disrupted a bit by noise from other houses - all depends on who you have staying. All in all a lovely holiday!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for this review. We are very thankful for feedback on issues that are less appreciated. A couple of comments: - regarding the mattress: although we never had complaints, we have decided to renew it after the season. - regarding the chairs: we have many guests, especially the children, that like these chairs. We have decided to keep them. - regarding noise from other apartments: this can of course happen in a multi-rental property. If we get informed about it, we react immediately. In this case we had no such feedback during the stay. Sorry about that. Most often Mas du Galantin is the place of new encounters, of children making new friends, of multi-cultural exchanges. That's why we thrive to make it a little better every year since 2004.

Schöne und gemütliche Fereinwohnung in idealer Lage zwischen Meer und Bergen

Das ehemalige Bauernhaus wurde unter Wahrung des ursprünglichen Charakters zu einem sehr schönen, gemütlichen Feriendomizil mit mehreren Ferienwohnungen umgebaut. Wir verlebten in der Wohnung "Fanny" 8 wunderschöne Tage und fühlten uns sehr wohl. Die Wohnung selbst war sauber und umfassend eingerichtet. Es gibt ein Schlafzimmer, eine Küche, ein riesiges Wohnzimmer, ein kleines Zimmer mit Doppelstockbetten und ein kleines Bad mit Waschmaschine, so dass keine Wünsche offen blieben. Die Lage ca. 7 km von Bandol entfernt im Landesinneren eröffnet dem Urlauber alle Möglichkeiten, die südliche Provence zu erkunden - von der Küste über Aix en Provence bis zum Grand Canyon du Verdon. Und wenn man ruhige Tage verleben will, bieten der große Garten, die überdachte (und damit schattige) Terasse und der schöne große Pool alle Möglichkeiten hierfür. Für Grill-Fans stehen Gasgrills bereit. Wenige Gehminuten entfernt gibt es eine Bäckerei, und Restaurants sind z. B. in Bandol in wenigen Minuten Autofahrt zu erreichen. Auch in der näheren Umgebung kann man viel entdecken: Ob es nun ein Spaziergang durch die Weinberge um Le Plan du Castellet oder ein Besuch in den hübschen Städtchen La Cadière-d'Azur oder Le Castellet ist, oder ob man an die Küste nach Bandol oder Cassis fährt. Cassis ist eine sehr hübsche kleine Hafenstadt und bei Cassis kann man eine schöne Wanderung entlang der Buchten (Calanque) machen, was uns sehr gefallen hat. Auch La Ciotat ist reizvoll - es gibt dort viel zu entdecken. Uns hat es sehr gefallen, und wir kommen gerne wieder - auch länger.

A perfect spot for exploring Southern France

Our family of four stayed at Mas du Galantin, apartment Fanny, for almost two weeks and we had a wonderful holiday. Mas du Galantin is the perfect spot for a holiday where you can relax by the pool and by the house of Mas du Galantin which is a quiet, lovely place, make trips to the surrounding small villages/towns by the sea and in the countryside and go to Aix en Provence, Marseille etc. Staff is very friendly.

We highly recommend the place and look forward to visiting again soon!

Many guests come back because in 2 weeks they were not able to explore the whole "menu". Beautiful farmhouse in the middle of the vineyards

We had a wonderful week in Le Mas Du Galatin. This is a lovely farmhouse surrounded by vineyards but only a 10 minutes drive to the beaches of Bandol and Sanary. Apartment Fanny was really clean on our arrival and had a really large living room and a spacious outdoor deck area with BBQ where we ate all our meals. There was also all the kitchen facilities you would need and we particularly liked the welcome pack complete with Nespresso tablets! The beaches in Bandol are really clean and the sea great for swimming. We also did parachuting off the back of the boat which was fun. Our two girls aged 10 and 13 loved the pool which was very safe for small children. There is a lovely bakery a walk away and then you need to drive to get to local restaurants. We visited lots of local French markets - some more touristy in Bandol but also enjoyed some more local. We also had a great day at Aqualand (would recommend the fast pass) and a visit to the lovely Calanques of Cassis. Would definitely come back!

Super facilities in the middle of everything

We enjoyed the two weeks were Mas du Galantin was our base. Some days we relaxed by the pool and went for a walk in the small village nearby and in the fascinating landscape of this area.

Within walking distance, there are several excellent wineries where the owners sell their wine after having served plentiful tastings from their vineyard.

A visit to the town Le Castellet on the mountain is recommendable.

The nearby town Bandol is a nice beach- and harbor town with many good restaurants. The beaches of Bandol includes several excellent sandy beaches. And nearby there are several other charming coastal towns with good beaches.

We have been in the South of France / Provence several times, but we have not stayed in a place where there were so many interesting towns and places for both children and adults within relative short distances.

Therefore, we describe the house as being 'in the middle of everything'. The options are many – eg. alternating between country vacation, visit historic sites beaches, and charming towns such as Aix and Avignon – just to mention.

The hosts are very service oriented and accessible. The house includes facilities you would expect - and everything functioned as it should.

We can only recommend Mas du Galantin, the facilities and the location.

MAS DU GALANTIN is located at Le Plan du Castellet, small village located between the famous medieval village of Le Castellet (2 min driving distance) and the famous seaside resort of Bandol (5 min driving distance). Easily accessible (via A50 Marseille-Toulon highway or 45 min. driving distance from Marseille airport), it is surrounded by and presents beautiful views of the vineyards of the famous Bandol AOC as well as the Gros Cerveau mountain chain. Lots of sports activities within short distance and very diverse sightseeing spots nearby.

The Bandol area has a wonderful microclimate with pluviometry not exceeding 650 m/m per year. Bandol is a true seaside resort. Many sand beaches, cliffs, inlets and creeks are all part of this natural environment and are surrounded by hills of pines and willows.
