Great seven days in cote d’azur
Gîte is pretty much exactly as listed on VRBO. It is definitely a fine example of rustic French which we loved.
Two of the bedrooms open out onto the garden which is delightful - it was hard to beat opening the shutters on our first morning. This does mean that you end up walking through a bedroom to access the outside- not a problem as such as we spent so much time outside anyway but worth knowing.
The garden, pool and outside area of this property really is it’s biggest asset. It’s beautiful. Very well manicured and trees are well positioned to allow shade during the hot summer days. There is three sets of loungers/chairs conveniently placed to get sun at different parts of the stay. The pool is approx 1.6m deep and the same depth across the whole pool. Our children loved it especially the inflatable loungers. We used the two terraces at different times of day depending on sun and heat. There is two barbecues which we really enjoyed having as we are used to campsite stays which ban these.
Host are welcoming and helpful but equally very respectful of privacy. They live upstairs but the two properties are well defined and you would not really notice they were there.
Some feedback- the Wi-Fi didn’t really work at all but apparently this is to be upgraded in the next month. This was not much of a problem for me ( I enjoy the digital freedom) but my teenage daughter used up her data quickly. This is worth noting as it is listed as having Wi-Fi on VRBO.
