2 Bedroom River Fronted Luxury Cottage With Hot Tub, Fishing & Lovely Views

Built in the summer of 2014, this traditional, luxury Scottish holiday cottage offers two double en suite bedrooms (one king, one twin) and a spacious living space inside. Equipped with a roaring log fire to keep guests snug during the colder months and cosy underfloor heating throughout, the property has doors opening out from the bedrooms and living room onto a lovely decking and private hot tub to sink into after a day on the Scottish hills.

The master bathroom has a lovely traditional cast iron bath and large power shower and the twin bathroom has a walk in power shower. The kitchen offers all the modern conveniences required for a relaxing break. The property also comes equipped with wifi, TVs in the living room and master bedroom, DVD player, as well as a selection of books and DVDs to choose from.

Outside guests can take advantage of the fishing rights on the river, and the Killin golf club is a couple of minutes away on foot. The shops in the village are five minutes away on foot and the Bridge of Lochay Hotel conveniently located within a few seconds walk of the property.

We live in Scotland with our two young children and operate a holiday cottage business on the shores of Loch Tay in the Scottish Highlands and a ski chalet business in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

Our properties range in style, age and size - they range from renovated farm steadings to alpine chalets, but all have a great sense of homeliness, and beautiful views, as well as lots of little luxuries to help everyone unwind and enjoy their holidays, no matter how old or young they may be!

Why Nina Deakin chose Scotland

Loch Tay is a fantastic location for holidays and there is so much to do in the area, no matter what time of the year. Ghillie's Cottage can be reached in just two hours from Glasgow or Edinburgh and enjoys a perfect position on the River Lochay on the outskirts of Killin. Whilst designing and building this property, we have tried to create a luxurious and spacious feel to the house which has the look of a traditional Scottish cottage from the outside, yet with all the modern conveniences including a roaring open fire, underfloor heating, a spacious outside decking area and a bubbling hot tub outside. In addition, the property benefits from the local amenities of Killin, including some lovely local shops, bars and restaurants as well as a nine hole golf course, which are all within walking distance of the property.

What makes this cottage unique

Loch Tay offers guests numerous opportunities for fishing (from the river shore), climbing (we are located close to a number of Munro mountains including mighty Ben Lawers), boating on the loch, visiting castles, distilleries, golf, and all just on our doorstep! The house itself offers a spacious, homely and peaceful retreat after all of these activities, to relax at the end of the day with a well deserved glass of wine in the garden or the bubbling hot tub.
