About the Owner

I was raised in Warton, attending the village school, singing in the church choir for many years, and love this ribbon village nestling beneath the Crag.

I am now a Secondary School Mathematics teacher in the South of England.

Lovely home in a quaint but convenient village

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our short stay in this lovely, well renovated home. Beautiful garden, comfortable beds, modern well-appointed bathrooms. The village is a short drive off of the highway so convenient to get to and from. Easy walk to the two pubs in town. We had a very good meal at the Malt Shovel Inn. The driveway is tight for a larger vehicle, so we parked out on the main street sometimes. Everything works, except we had trouble figuring out how to lock the back door.

Owner's Response: I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at The Stables and in Warton. What a shame that you didn't mention the difficultly with the back door to Anne, our super local contact during your stay. She would have been able to help you in a jiffy. I hope to welcome you to The Stables again in the not too distant future. Many thanks, Rachael Jones

What a wonderful find. Lovely cosy cottage with every facility you need. Any issues and Anne is only across the road. The village has 2 pubs within 5 minutes walk and the people are so welcoming. The area has so much to offer just 15 minutes away is Leighton Moss RSPB which is well worth a days visit and then lake Windermere and Morecombe are on the door step.Thank you and we will be back very soon.

Spacious, welcoming and well-located holiday home

  • 5 of 5

I can thoroughly recommend The Stables for an enjoyable holiday. The house is spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Within easy reach of the Lakes, but also with great scenery, walking, watersports and lovely pubs right on the doorstep. The housekeeper is across the road and readily available for any extras, or even just a chat, if you require! All in all, a perfect base for one or two families to enjoy a fun and active break together.

excellent cottage

  • 5 of 5

we have just returned from a lovely 2 week stay in the stables and were really impressed with the cottage. all we could have needed was there and we found it to be immaculate and comfortable. the weather wasn't too bad besides for the usual rainfalls here and there which you wont miss in this part of the world! Thanks to Anne and Jeff for helping us along the way with all we may have needed. Looking forwards to coming back again soon.

Highly recommended

Well situated with driving distance to the see, Lake district, Yorkshire Dales National park and Blackpool (M6 for all, which is very convenient)

The house itself is very nice and very well endowed. There was lots of spaces but it still felt very cosy. We were 7 (3 adults and 4 children) and there was no problem with the house , it suited our needs perfectly. The house was clean and well-maintained as well. The house is not only used for renting but the owner does live in the house when it is not being used . We visited a number of places and were all pleasantly surprised by all of them. The children had lots of fun and can't wait to come again! The landlord is also very welcoming and friendly. She gave excellent advice on places to visit .Overall we had a lovely time and I would definitely recommended this anyone with a family and loves the nature.
