Villa La Rafal - Contemporary country side living with fabulous out door areas.

Large 4 bedroom, 4 bathrooms outside Pollensa old town close to the golf course.

La Rafal is a distinctive stone villa located in the beautiful Colonya Valley just outside Pollenca Old Town and next door to the well-known Son Brull and Pollensa golf course. There are wonderful views across fields and citrus groves to the valley and the Tramuntana montains, and all the way up to the Puig Maria Mountain with the famous 18th-century monastery at its summit.

This spacious country side estate has been redecorated and refurnished in 2015 and is the perfect holiday home for a large family. The property enjoy a private location with several fantastic out door entertainment areas, a garden also redesigned in 2015, to suit both grown up and children.

The impressive entrance opens up into a square courtyard reminiscent of a by-gone palatial era. Here there are covered terraces surrounding the courtyard full of sofas and seating. There are colourful plants and fruit trees in the courtyard creating the most relaxing chill-out area and an ideal place for pre-dinner sun-downers with its terrace furniture and rattan sofas.

From the courtyard the house opens up to another outside area with an open air barbecue-kitchen and dining area with views to a beautiful lily pond.

The separate pool terrace with a spacious decking for sunbathing is comfortably set away on the side of the house and its a fenced-in and secure pool area with a separate Jacuzzi spa pool.

A main entrance door opens up into the ground floor of the property - there is a reception hallway which has double doors leading out into the garden area at the rear of the property. Also off this hallway to the left is the large lounge area with the latest entertainment systems. This leads into the dining room which has double doors leading out into the garden. The kitchen area is well planned out with a fantastic bulthaup kitchen. On this level there is a separate laundry room and shower bathroom which leads to the villa's games room equipped with a Nintendo Wii, TV, table games, toys and books.

To the right of the reception entrance and in ground level, 3 of the villas bedrooms are situated. There are 2 twin bedrooms which share a full bathroom and 1 double bedroom which has fitted wardrobes and an en-suite shower bathroom. A staircase leads from the courtyard to the first floor where an amazing double bedroom is located with fantastic views looking out to the Colonya Valley. This room is privately set away from the rest of the house and has a beautiful en-suite full bathroom with a large walk in shower and a jacuzzi bath.

La Rafal really is a house which will enchant you! It is perfect for a relaxing holiday with the convenience of being only a short drive or cycle ride from Pollenca Old Town, the gardens especially are a beautiful place to relax and indulge yourselves with a barbecue to the sounds of the countryside. A stunning architecture and layout which combine outdoor and indoor living into one spectacular space!

Beautiful villa in a stunning setting

La Rafal has the wow factor! Very spacious and modern and only 10 minute walk from the beautiful Pollenca town. The pool is not massive but the kids ,13 and 17 yrs loved it and having no close neighbours meant they made a lot of noise !

A few problems....no instructions for anything ..from hot tub to tv....so we had to ring the contact number a few times.Also a couple of the shower heads were ineffective and needed a good clean. Oh and outside lights didn't work.we reported these problems and most were dealt with very promptly by the rental company.Also a small welcome pack would have been appreciated...is milk bread etc .All in all a lovely place that with a few tweaks could have been perfect.

Fabulous villa, stunning location

Everything about this villa is perfect. Only a few minutes drive from Pollenca tucked down into the valley with views across the countryside and mountains. Well maintained gardens and a stunning pool area with plenty of outside furniture. Inside the villa is very spacious, well equipped with all modern conveniences, elegantly furnished and comfortable beds. The air conditioning was very welcome in the bedrooms at night.

The piece de resistance has to be the internal courtyard with fruit trees, mint and large dining table. Perfect for a long lunch!

We all loved the pond, watching the fish, frogs and dragonflies is very relaxing. In the evening all you can hear is the frogs croaking and the distant bleeting of goats.

The situation is perfect, quiet countryside position with Pollenca and it's restaurants and shops on your doorstep.

The pictures here really don't do this place justice. Which meant we were pleasantly surprised when we finally found the right entrance from the road and arrived at the Villa.

The first big surprise was the Villa itself and how beautifully laid out it was. The centre-piece is a large courtyard, surrounded by the rooms of the house, with the main bedroom in a mini tower (with great views). The atmosphere is bright, airy and modern. The landscaping and outdoor areas are excellent and the whole thing blends into the landscape well.

The other surprise was location. It was just so tranquil and rustic. We got the full-on experience of the stunning Pollensa valley and all the sights, sounds and smells assosciated with it. We particularly enjoyed the bird-song, cicacdas, frogs from the frog pond, sheep bells, an astmatic cock crowing.

For me these were the things that set this place apart.

The practicalities of staying there were fine, we were close to Pollensa, the beach and shops. The kitchen was well equipped with very modern high quailty appliances. It had a TV, stereo and wifi but this is what we came here to get away from so they remained un-tested. The pool and outdoor terraces were great

Overall a very postive experience. We will be back.

Die Bilder versprachen viel mehr

Soeben zurück aus dem sonnigen Mallorca. Das Wetter hat uns nicht enttäuscht. Die Finca schon. Das Positive ist, die Finca ist riesig und es hat Platz für viele Leute; auch ist sie sehr zentral gelegen und man ist mit einem Mietwagen sehr schnell zum einkaufen oder am Meer. Auch ist die Finca, der Innenhof (wunderschön) und vorallem der Pool praktisch uneinsehbar. Die Strassennähe bedeutet aber auch, dass der Verkehrslärm der Hauptstrasse konstant da ist. Leider haben wir aufgrund der Bilder mehr erwartet. Die Finca wird leider schlecht gepflegt. Wir fanden noch Speisereste vom Vormieter auf dem Boden.. Viele Wasserhähnen sind so stark verkalkt, dass praktisch kein Duschen möglich ist oder man sich wie unter einem Hochdruckreiniger fühlt (Gartendusche). Der Aussenwhirlpool funktioniert nur kalt und nur zwei, drei von den unteren Düsen. Also unbrauchbar. Als wir die Whirlwanne innen benutzen wollten, kamen erst algenartige Dinge aus der Leitung, danach eine braune Suppe. Radio hatte kein Empfang. Wifi-Code musste angefragt werden, da null und nix an irgendwelchen Beschreibungen rumliegt. Auch war das Allereinzige was wir vorfanden, ein paar Rollen Toilettenpapier. Wer hier irgendein Abwaschmittel oder gar Abwaschlappen oder Gewürze und dergleichen erwartet, ist fehl am Platz. Ob die Wi funktioniert konnte nicht getestet werden, da eh keine Spiele da sind. Es muss gesagt werden, dass die angepriesenen Haushaltsgeräte und die Klimaanlage wunderbar funktionierten. In der Küche war Geschirr und Pfannen für 8 Leute, jedoch praktisch keine Kochkellen und das Ganze halt alles etwas spartanisch. Wir habe schon etliche Fincas angemietet, dies ist jedoch die Einzige, welche wir bestimmt nicht mehr anmieten werden, da das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut nicht stimmt und man spürt, dass da alles eher lieblos gepflegt wird. Der gezeigte Seerosenteich ist heute noch ein rosenloser Tümpel, aber man kann da zumindest ein paar Frösche beobachten.Gesagt werden muss auch, dass das nur eine Finca für Leute mit super Schlaf ist. Die Betten sind ok, jedoch schreit der Hahn in der Nachbarschaft ca. ab 4.00 morgens und stimmt somit alle anderen Hähne der Nachbarschaft in ein fröhliches Morgenkonzert ein. Wir fanden es auch störend, dass ohne eine Vorwarnung oder Anmeldung, eines Tages einfach 2 Damen die Tür aufgeschlossen haben, mir nichts Dir nichts reingelaufen sind und die Frottierwäsche ausgewechselt haben.... Wir hoffen, bei der nächsten Finca auf mehr Glück..
