Stunning views, comfortable house, very quiet location

  • 4 of 5

The house is south facing with stunning views from the terrace or inside from the living areas. Although very comfortable and pleasantly furnished, it would benefit from a few repairs - all the cupboard doors in the kitchen are crooked, the shower cubicle doors are about to fall apart and the cracked window in the living area are the most serious and should be fixed rather than left in their current state. Bring your own toilet rolls unless you are fortunate enough to have some donated by previous tenants. The photos are accurate and there is a lot of natural light in the building which makes it very nice. We were fortunate to have really warm weather at the end of October so never used the heating, but it looked more than adequate if required.

We were very pleased with Saskia who made us welcome and she is certainly a benefit to the owner, a lovely lady. The house was clean and ready for us and she was prompt when it was time for us to leave.

The bakery van arrives near the bar each morning at 8, a butchers van also appeared on Sunday. The entire area is beautiful and we enjoyed every day of our visit. Would recommend and hope the repairs get attention soon.

Great house with spectacular views, from house and surrounding area. Village very small and bar similarly - just 2 tables for 4 and 1 for 2 inside, and only French spoken. Saskia (who meets you when you arrive) was very pleasant and spoke reasonable English.

Anybody considering renting this property needs to be aware that the house is well up into the hills. There are 4 roads out of the village. We drove all 4 and consider the D20 towards Zoza the best. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to the nearest flat, straight road and 50 minutes to the nearest big supermarket at Propriano. The first section of this road (the 30 minutes) has multipule bends and steep inclines up and down.

We used the house as a base to visit Propriano, Ajaccio, Porto Vechhio, Bonifacio, Corte and Cap Corse. We arrived and departed by ferry from Bastia and drove about 700 miles in our week on the island.

Very stylish and great location

Great villa with amazing views. Stylish and comfortable, it was the ideal base for exploring and climbing in Bavella, along with day trips to stunning beaches. The owner was incredibly helpful recommending excellent restaurants and places to visit. Highly recommend.

Séjour au calme à proximité des aiguilles de BAVELLA

  • 4 of 5

If you want to experience authentic village life on the Island of Beauty, you’ve come to the right place! The village of Sorbollano is set in the northern part of l’Alta Rocca, in the microregion of Scopamène. The village is within half an hour of tourist hotspots including Porto Vecchio and Ajaccio, 41km form Bonifacio and an easy 19km from the historical town of Sartène, yet enjoys an idyllic pace with friendly locals and picturesque streets.

With a river at just 2km and the nearest beach at Propriano, 30km away, you can easily indulge in swimming and a host of water sports. Closer to the villa, activities include mountaineering, hunting, fishing, horse riding, mountain biking, rock climbing and of course some beautiful, scenic hikes.

Don’t miss your chance to sample Corsica’s delectable local gastronomy: The island’s half-French, half-Italian culture has resulted in an interesting culture and mouth-watering dishes including outstanding cheeses (especially the he famous Brocciu cheese), charcuterie, seafood and local honey. The closest bar and supermarket are at 500 metres and the nearest restaurant is 3km from the villa.
