About this property

Family home on the Opal Coast by the sea

Located on the picturesque Côte d'Opale, 'Bouteille à la Mer' is a 4-star holiday home offering panoramic views of the North Sea. Located on the Grand-Fort-Philippe side of the Aa estuary, this haven of peace offers an uninterrupted view of the beach at Gravelines, a seaside resort that perfectly combines family friendliness and sporting dynamism.

On the doorstep of our gîte, discover the 'Platier d'Oye' ornithological park and the wild dunes of the coastline, with signposted footpaths close to the GR120 or cycle along the Vélomaritime (EUROVELO 4) trail.

Our house is the ideal base for exploring the treasures of the region: Gravelines, Calais, Dunkerque, Lille, and the charming towns of Wissant and Wimereux. Don't forget to visit the nearby Caps Blanc Nez and Gris Nez. For a day's getaway, England and Belgium are within easy reach.

Take advantage of the water sports on offer on the majestic beaches of the Côte d'Opale: sailing, stand-up paddle, windsurfing, sand yachting, kite surfing... An access ramp opposite the house means you can bring your own equipment!

Our family gîte, with its spacious living areas and south-facing garden, offers a sanctuary of tranquillity. It's the ideal place to recharge your batteries with family or friends, while enjoying the pleasures of the water or walks along the seafront.

The house is equipped with fibre-optic WiFi access and a multilingual audio-video system.

On the ground floor, there is a fully equipped kitchen that opens onto a spacious living room, a sitting room with sea views, a utility room, WC and access to the garage.

The first floor comprises four large bedrooms, two of which offer stunning sea views. These bedrooms can sleep up to 8 people (3 double beds 160cm, 2 single beds 90cm). The bathroom has a bath with shower. Please note that there is no toilet on this floor.

The second floor has a dormitory for up to 5 people (5 single beds 90cm), a bathroom with shower, and a separate toilet.

We provide bed linen on request at no extra charge and welcome children under 2 free of charge. With our "Linen costs" option, you will find the beds already made up on your arrival, and the household linen (towels and tea towels) will be at your disposal.

Beautiful house in a lovely condition
The house is facing the water, with a small garden at the back. Parking is plentiful. It’s really quiet but a free boat crosses the water for about 6 hours a day… there are lots of bars / restaurants on the other side. The house is beautiful - 5 bedrooms, with the top floor having 5 single beds with an en-suite shower and toilet. All rooms were large and comfortable. A good kitchen with everything you’d need for a stay. Lovely dining room/ lounge. Would really recommend for a family.

Excellent base for sight seeing
Excellent location for sight seeing and travelling across to Belguim.Very good communication with host both prior and during stay. Lovely greeting on our arrival. An issue with the hot water boiler during the week was resolved very quickly. Light and airy bedrooms, very comfortable beds. Great views from the front windows. Facitlies in the kitchen very good. A toilet upstairs would have benefitted my mother in law aged 84 as she gets up several times a night, navigating the stairs at night was a little daunting. However, excellent stay and very relaxing. Thank you
