4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8
Large 4 bedroom house with roof terrace & stunning views over the rooftops of Alhama down to the square & the historic Church. From here you can enjoy the breeze & the swallows at dusk. Beautifully restored & lovingly decorated with treasures collected on worldwide travels. Located on a quiet side street off the main square just a minutes stroll to tapas bars, supermarket & other amenities. Luxurious rusticity at its best in a lovely town nestled in the hills of Andalucia.
Originally part of a larger property called the Palacio de los Espejos, Casa de los Espejos, or 'The House of Mirrors', is named after the Espejo family who owned the former Palacio. Restoration began on the house in early 2005 after it had remained empty and slipped into serious disrepair for twenty years. Our ‘Casa’ comprises half of the original house and is decorated with an eclectic mix of furniture and curios, collected on extensive travels throughout Spain, South America, Thailand and India. The resulting effect is both decadent and rustic whilst being incredibly comfortable and homely at the same time. The materials, fittings and technologies installed during the restoration have transformed the entire house but particularly the kitchen and bathrooms into luxurious havens for enthusiastic chefs and bathers alike. This is a place to stay in all seasons with a wood-burning stove and underfloor heating.

About the Owner
I am the mother of two wonderful young children & being a typical Aquarian (!) I thrive on creativity & design. I fell in love with Casa de los Espejos the minute I first laid eyes on it & relished the challenge of breathing life back into this grand, yet very neglected, old building in Alhama.
I have since been involved with the design of two award-winning Spanish bars in the UK & recently completed another renovation project, of a beautiful Victorian property on the Hants/Surrey border, where we now live in the UK.
We visit Alhama as often as school & other commitments will allow & always adore our time in the house, socialising with the charming locals & exploring the stunning countryside. All in all, it is a very special place with a relaxing pace of life that is quite intoxicating!

A beautiful property in a beautiful, real Spanish town. We visited Córdoba, Granada and the Costa del Sol during our stay and all were an easy drive. The bars and restaurants down the street are lively and excellent and there are grocery stores nearby. Parking was available on the street. The house itself was spacious and very well furnished. We were 8 people and had plenty of room. Roof deck! Awesome! All in all a great experience, and a big thanks to Leonie.
We loved our short stay at La Casa de Espejos. The location is great for bars, restaurants (including the brilliant "La Seguiriya") shops, and setting off for walks.
The stylish decor adds value to the spacious accommodation, with the bonus of the roof terrace for spectacular views and al fresco dining.
We always walk the gorge when we visit Alhama, now with a choice of 2 eateries just the right distance away for us.
We look forward to our next visit to one of our favourite places in the world.
Full of charm
Amazing location, surrounded by natural beauty, perfect for our walkers and bike rides. Very central location in a beautiful traditional town with mouthwatering tapas on your door step. House is of a very good and generous size (inc a roof top balcony, where we spent many a hours!) Finished with traditional and modern interior. Full of charm and quirkiness. Highly recommend.
Delightful eclectic fun house in Andalucia.
I would recommend this delightful property wholeheartedly.
The location is in the heart of this beautiful authentic Andalucian village
The house is warm and imaginately decorated and furnished. It is a delight!
Descriptions were reliable and the facilities as described. The house was clean and welcoming.
The owner provided great customer service.
I loved the surroundings and all the tapas restaurants on the doorstep.
The hot springs were such fun and the gorge spectacular.
My favourite eatery was The Seguiriya in town. Try their paella and explore their extensive wine list.
