About Sharon MEGRET

La Petite Maison is our second holiday rental property purchased. After three successful years running The Barn (ref: 801374) we decided to add this property to our collection and are happy and proud to launch La Petite Maison for 2015/16 season.

We have renovated several properties in Burgundy during our 15 years of marriage, we have 2 children who like to help with household and garden maintenance, keeping us extremely busy.

Sharon MEGRET purchased this house in 2015

Why Sharon MEGRET chose Montbard area

We feel this property offers everything needed for a comfortable 'Home away from home' holiday. When we are looking for a holiday house to use for our family, we look for value for money and above all comfort and stylish interiors, and we believe this offers both. Frolois is a superb base for exploring the region and peaceful enough for relaxing and enjoying the view.

What makes this house unique

This sleepy peaceful village has picturesque charm with stunning views. Hours can be spent taking in the beautiful surroundings. Do not come here if you want a lively experience. But if relaxing in tranquil charm is your thing, then we would love to welcome you to this corner of the Cote d'Or.

Notes:
We think La Petite Maison is ideal for a countryside getaway. Located in a small hamlet this house offers peace and tranquillity without compromise. Unfortunately there are no longer shops or restaurants in the village, but the owners offer a home made catering service of delicious regional cuisine that can be delivered to you oven hot or ready to re-heat as they live very locally. A daily delivery of pastries and baguettes can be arranged from the local Boulangerie and if needed, the owners can organise your grocery shopping to be ready in the property for your arrival (for a small fee). They are always on hand to offer help and advice on visiting the area and are happy to help with local reservations if needed.

Lovely property set in beautiful rural countryside - very comfortable & well-equipped.

  • 5 of 5

We had a delightful 2 weeks staying at La Petite Maison. Sharon has created a charming cottage and has thought of everything from the complimentary Crème de Bourgogne and other goodies on arrival, to the little bottles of gorgeous shower gel, body lotion and shampoo in the bathrooms. The garden is very pretty and has various seating areas depending on your mood and the time of day. Sharon is on hand whenever you need to call upon her for advice, recommendations and suggestions - always with a smile! The area is beautiful and is really for lovers of the rural countryside who want to get away from it all. There are some wonderful, dramatic medieval villages around to explore as well as various walks and cycle paths along the Canal de Bourgogne. All in all it was a very relaxing holiday.

Beautifilly renovated and appointed

Everything was meticulously organised, and the home cooked meals offered by Sharon scrumptious - with the added benefit that the cook in your family gets a holiday too.

Very enjoyable week

  • 5 of 5

Just had a lovely week at La Petite Maison,17-24th June 2017.

Sharon and Gregoire are a lovely couple, very helpful and eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We enjoyed Sharon's excellent meals on 2 nights and would definitely recommend the Beouf Bourguignon and the Duck au Vin,both are restaurant quality.

The house has everything you could need and is very clean and comfortable. The garden is also lovely with different seating areas, including a covered dining space, very useful in hot weather.

Sharon gave us tips on where to eat out..La Grange at Flavigny is a must. She also recommended Domaine Flavigny-Alesia for wine, which also proved to be an excellent choice,we brought home some excellent reds from there.

Very much looking forward to a return trip to La Petite Maison in the near future.

Warm regards,

Douglas and Rosemary Gibson

In quiet countryside peaceful and relaxing only downside is some steep steps

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to welcome you back to La Petite Maison for your second visit to the property. For future guests reading, it is worth noting the steps in the garden are only one of the ways to the terraced area, there is also a pathway to use (but it is the longer way!). For the 2018 season we hope to add another outside seating/dining area before the steps, just outside the door, which would eliminate the need to use the steps when carrying drinks, food, etc.

Rural retreat, tastefully decorated

  • 5 of 5

We could tell La petit Maison had recently been renovated, a stylish interior with thought of providing everything that was needed for our stay.

We were two couples and the layout was ideal offering privacy with plenty of areas to be together. We loved the outside and dined out every evening under the protection of the covered area. Delightful!

A very private cottage

  • 5 of 5

A lovely 2 weeks in La Petite Maison. Very nice garden for reading, eating and relaxing. Extremely private and located in a very quiet spot. Very much enjoyed exploring the area and sites, Sharon the owner, recommended some good places to go to. (Her cooking is VERY good - be sure to try!) I Highly recommend this property.
