Rental Agency Sucks but the Apt Good

My family of 5 rented this apartment for a little over a week in August 2016. The apartment location is convenient -- across the river from two major malls, multiple train lines, and restaurants. It's about a 20 minute train ride to main tourist areas. Apartment is adequate for short term stays but it is outfitted oddly, for example, 12 plates, but not a single bowl until we went out and bought a cheap set of four; none of the floor lamps in the living room had working lightbulbs; numerous steak knives but a single butter knife; and no sheets in the apartment for the sleeper sofa. We worked around all of these slight oddities and inconveniences -- after all, we were in London!

The reason I gave a one start rating was because I had to interact with the Prime Stay London rental agency beyond sending them my money and that was an incredibly poor experience. First, note that the price quoted on HomeAway is for up to three people staying in the apartment, there is a per person charge for any additional people staying in the apartment with you. William informed me of this when I contacted them about renting the apartment and I asked about the additional charge. It's not clear in any of the fine print. I was still okay with the cost so I booked the apartment. Fabio met us at the apartment for our Sunday afternoon check-in and gave us our keys and a quick tour of the space. Within 30 minutes of Fabio's leaving, I discovered that the washing machine/dryer combination unit did not work. I immediately notified Fabio and William about the broken machine, and my communications with them went downhill from there. When I sent emails and text messages, I was often placated, told they would send someone to fix it or replace it the next day (and they didn't come), or ignored entirely. Customer service from Prime Stay London / Falcon Apartments was terrible -- getting any information out of them about what they were doing to fix the machine was like pulling teeth. Their behavior was such that it APPEARED that they were dragging their feet and wanted me to give up asking them to repair or replace it. Five days after I reported the broken machine, they finally fixed it. We requested some compensation for the stress and inconvenience and Thomas offered 100 GBP. It's now been more than three months and I have yet to see a credit on our Amex card -- even though I've reminded him twice since we left.

Nice apartment on Canary Wharf

Stayed in this apartment for a week in July. Location is convenient to the Jubilee Line and the DLR. Thomas was very responsive to queries during our stay. Great views of Canary Wharf. Tesco and restaurants nearby. Would stay there again and would recommend others to stay there as well.

Nice views from the balcony

Ottima sistemazione - CONSIGLIATISSIMO

Abbiamo soggiornato nella struttura durante la settimana dal 07/07/2014 al 13/07/2014. Per indisponibilità l'agenzia ci ha resto disponibile non questo appartamento ma uno gemello al 6.o piano (con disposizione interna similare), Facilmente raggiungibile con DLR (South Quay) o metro della linea Jubilee (Canary Wharf) a meno di 200 metri. Se si arriva da London Stansted, con la prima soluzione, dalla fermata del bus all'appartamento ci vogliono meno di 30 minuti senza cambi. All'arrivo abbiamo avuto un piccolo inconveniente: avevamo prenotato x 4 adulti e 2 bambini, ma il divano letto in soggiorno non è divano letto. Prontamente l'agenzia ci ha messo a disposizione un letto singolo, che tuttavia non abbiamo usato. Gentili e disponibili Camilla e Fabio. Gli ambienti sono ampi e confortevoli: il soggiorno affaccia con un balconcino direttamente sul canale di fronte ai grattacieli della Citigroup e della JP Morgan. Angolo cottura ben attrezzato con tutto ciò che serve: stoviglie, pentole, piatti, bicchieri, micro-onde, due forni, lavastovigie, lavatrice, ecc. Bagni puliti ed ampi (erano presenti un phon per ogni bagno). Presenti anche aspirapolvere, stendino e ferro da stiro. Efficace anche riscaldamento a pavimento (utilizzato una sera) ed aria condizionata (anche se durante la nostra settimana con il classico tempo inglese non era indispensabile). Camere da letto ampie: una con ampi armadi, una con uno solo, sufficiente per una settimana di soggiorno. Cortese l'addetto alla reception, che ci ha anche consigliato pub nei dintorni. Nessun problema per la spesa: sotto casa supermarket Tesco e nel mall di Canary Wharf ipermercato Waitrose (aperti sino alle 10.00 pm). Buon servizio al Pret-a-manger (anche se il caffè non come il nostro), Diversi ristoranti di diverse etnie (turca, europea) attorno a Cabot Square e Jubilee Place. Plus: mezzi di trasporto: si arriva con 15 minuti al centro di Londra, volendo anche con il battello dal molo di Canary Wharf. Con poche fermate di DLR si arriva a Greenwich (noi siamo passati dal Greenwich Foot Tunnel) per vedere il Cutty Sark e l'Osservatorio (ai bambini è piaciuto tantissimo).
