Beautiful house on Chianti hilltop with exceptional views.

Updated: 07-Aug-2016
4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (3 en-suite), sleeps 8.

Spacious (260 sq metres), very well equipped house on two floors forming part of renovated historic farm hamlet. The estate covers 5 acres, and includes eight houses set in lovely gardens, sharing a 20 metre mosaic-lined pool and tennis court. Our house, the largest in the hamlet, has a private terrace and garden, and a beautiful shaded outside dining area. Spectacular views include mountains, vineyards, and the distant mediaeval towers of San Gimignano.

As our second home, we have created a very comfortable environment. There are several very attractive architectural details. Inside, the floors are either marble or terra cotta tiles, and the furniture is a tasteful mixture of period and modern. Two double and two twin bedrooms are complemented by marble tiled bathrooms. The spacious arched living area has well stocked bookshelves, a wide selection of music and videos, and an open log fireplace. A large rustic kitchen has every convenience for the most enthusiastic cook.

Beautiful house, stunning location

  • 5 of 5

This gorgeous property is very well equipped, with enough space for two families. The pool is great and was well used, and overlooks the stunning views. Highly recommended.

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week here with friends and young babies. The house is so peaceful and set amongst the most amazing countryside. The views are really spectacular and we enjoyed several amazing sunsets at the end of the garden. We were even lucky enough to see wild deer running past in the nearby fields. Perfect!

The house itself has literally everything you could possibly need for couples and families. The bedrooms and living area are comfortable and well equipped. We were able to prepare a range of meals in the superb kitchen. The manager arranged for us to have a meal cooked one evening at a reasonable cost which was delicious. We enjoyed using the tennis courts and swimming pool although it was a little chilly at this time of year!

I cannot recommend this property enough for a peaceful break in a stunning setting. Thank you Paul and Annie - what a wonderful home you have!

Wonderful Italian Villa

  • 5 of 5

This is our fourth time of staying at Casa del Fiori and our last visit has been as exceptional as the first - this place is a real gem. The photos truly don't do this hilltop villa justice. The absolutely spectacular views go as far as San Gimignano and the sunsets will no doubt make you late for dinner! I can wholeheartedly recommend a glass of wine while watching the sun go down as a no.1 activity. The tennis court and huge swimming pool are enough to entertain for the day but make returning after a day wine tasting or sightseeing a joy. The house is very clean, spacious and well equipped - the kitchen in particular is fab. Genuinely has all the utensils and equipment you could need. Each bedroom has a sensational view overlooking glorious Tuscan countryside and furthermore Siena and Castalina in Chianti are only a short drive away. In short, we (and the new little one) love this place and can't wait to go back.

Christmas in Chianti

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for two weeks over the Christmas holidays and had a delightful time. The house itself is quite grand, yet with the rustic charm of high beamed ceilings, stone floors, french windows, big fireplace. All the bedrooms are beautful. The house was well heated; we were very comfortable. On some evenings, we chose to light the fireplace and there were ample logs for our use.

We had a cooking lesson in the kitchen as well as Christmas dinner in a local restaurant -- all arranged by the property manager, who promptly responded to all requests. Everyone associated with this property was kind, helpful, efficient.

But best of all was the Chianti region in the holiday season with the church bells ringing, the streets lit up with festive lights, the pappardelle with wild boar, the friendliness of the locals, the few tourists, the great shopping, the wine. We especially enjoyed visiting our own nearest small town of Castellina. And also Pienza, Certaldo, and the Querciabella winery near Greve.

Another perfect stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay at this beautiful house and it gets better every time!

The house is very comfortable and is decorated in a beautiful traditional Tuscan style. It is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need and the kitchen is a cook's paradise! The view from the garden and from the bedrooms is breathtaking and the photos do not do it justice at all. We spent many evenings just sitting on one of the many outdoor seating areas having a glass of Chianti and staring at the stunning scenery. The grounds surrounding the house are equally beautiful with fig and olive trees and a great vegetable patch too. The pool is enormous with amazing views and although shared by 8 houses never felt too crowded and we were often the only ones in it. The tennis court is also great.

The location is excellent - with the lovely medieval village of Castellina only 10-15 minutes away and the beautiful hilltop towns of Siena and Monteriggioni close by too. We have visited in the summer and autumn months and loved it equally! There is so much to see and do in the area or you can simply relax with amazing food and wine and soak up the very special atmosphere.

Thank you so much for another perfect stay - we can't wait to come back!

Loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

All I can say is that we loved our stay!! Your place is spectacular! The commodities are exceptional. The best kitchen I have ever seen in a while! We have rented other properties with Home Away and were very satisfied. Yours tops it up!!! The location, the view, the pool, the rooms and all commodities were absolutely outstanding!! Would we go back again? Yes, in a New York minute! I would recommend and I will to everyone who wants an unforgettable ''No regrets'' vacation.

Thank you so much!

The house is set on a hilltop in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, surrounded by rolling vineyards, olive groves, and wooded hills behind. Castellina, a charming small hill town, is 5kms distant, while Siena is about 25mins by car, and Florence less than an hour. The coast can be reached in about 90 minutes, and Rome in less than three hours. While the setting is idyllically peaceful, many amenities are nearby. The area is plentifully supplied with good restaurants, the closest being only a few minutes drive away. The area is most attractive in all seasons; spring bringing an abundance of wild flowers, while the winter often has cold, clear sunshine with outstanding views.

Other Activities: Visiting the rich artistic and historic heritage of the area.

  • Our house, while very spacious, is suitable for couples, single or sharing families of up to eight people, and offers great comfort at all times of the year. One bedroom can be used as either double or twin, or for three children, although we prefer not have more than eight people in total. The pool and extensive gardens offer peace and relaxation, and for the more energetic, the area is ideal for walking, riding and other outdoor pursuits. The house is both cool in summer and warm in winter. The outdoor dining area can be used even when raining, while in the winter months full central heating and a supply of logs for the large open fire maintain a very cosy atmosphere. Our caretaker is available daily to deal with any problems.
