The villa is situated a few feet away from the sea so perfect if you want to roll out of bed for that early morning swim! It is only a 1 minute walk into town and a 5 minute walk to the main beach yet is in a peaceful and quiet part of town. The property has just (February 2014) been renovated, new kitchen, bathroom, extended balcony, bedroom and lounge, new kitchen with all new appliances. It has been tastefully decorated to retain it's Portuguese beach house charm so has an abundance of character and is equipped to be home from home. It has 2 bedrooms, the master has a king sized bed and the other with a double bed and a mezzanine style single. There is also a sofa bed in the lounge should you need it. (So it actually sleeps 5 in beds and a double sofa bed in the lounge if you need it). The downstairs is an open plan kitchen and lounge with tv, freeview, dvd player and cd player. The lounge has large glass doors leading onto the terrace which is equipped with outdoor furniture and a bbq and it has it's own private gate. The gate leads onto a cobbled street, about 10 paces to the sea, and in front of the house is only one property.

Great apartment!

An ideally situated apartment very close to the center of Luz, yet so quiet, the only sound we heard were the waves! The apartment was ultra clean, bright, airy and recently renovated with all of the best amenities. It is also very nicely decorated with a personal touch so you feel right at home. Laura was easy to communicate with and very helpful. There are complete instructions in the apartment.

Luz is an ideal fishing/now small resort village, far from the Albufeira and Portimaio crowds, yet its close to Lagos, but you really don't have to go to Lagos for supplies, the two Luz supermarkets are very well stocked (lots of imported goods) and there are plenty of small bars and restaurants all within walking distance. The beaches (small one near the apartment and large one 10 minutes walk) are nice and very, very clean.

Overall this is a terrific place to stay for a couple or couple with 2 or 3 kids...highly recommended!

Objekt hat leider schon bessere Zeiten gesehen

Kontakt zum Vermieter sehr gut, schnelle Antworten.

Objekt war bei Anreise nicht gereinigt, alte Bettwäsche und Handtücher lagen noch herum. Auf Beschwerde hin, hat Laura schnell reagiert und Abhilfe geschaffen.

Objekt bedarf dringend einer Renovierung. Decken nur teilweise übermalt, Lack an Möbel abgeblättert, Spüle schimmelig, Badtür kaum zu schließen bzw. öffnen. Keine Polster für Plastikstühle. Sonnenschirm kaputt. Zwar toller Blick vom OG, aber deutlich zu teuer für diesen Zustand.

How to get there:

It is only 1 hour drive from Faro Airport. There are buses from Faro to Praia da Luz or hire a car. We recommend carjet which is very good value. A car however is not necessary at the property as it is so close to all amenities and the beach.

Further Details:

Praia da Luz ('beach of light') is in the Western Algarve, an area of unspoilt villages and open countryside.

Behind the beach narrow streets of white painted houses lead to the church and the village centre. The old and the new blend together encouraging you to relax and feel at home.

Luz is renowned for its safe sandy beach which is an important part of a holiday for many holidaymakers.

For the more energetic there are water sports centres where wind surfers and sail boats can be hired. Tuition in water skiing and diving are also available from the beach during the season.

For surfers there is also a reef break at the far end of Luz beach known as Roca Negra. There are other surf spots only 10 minute drive down the coastline, such as the infamous Zavial. Those keen surfers have easy access to the big waves of the west coast which is within 20 minutes drive away.

The village restaurants cater to a wide range of tastes and budgets, Portuguese, English, Indian or Pizza. There is also a good selection of bars, cafes and pubs.

Those looking for a wider selection of restaurants or a party scene, the historic town of Lagos is only six kms away and there are regular buses and taxi services between the village and town. Lagos is a beautiful and bustly town with cobbled streets and is steeped in history. There is a wide selection of restaurants and bars, which cater for all age groups, from cosy intimate pubs to jazz clubs with live music to relaxed backpackers bars or lively surfer bars!

Praia da Luz has supermarkets, butchers and bakers. Fresh fish and some vegetables are sold in the mornings in the commercial centre market. Nearby, Lagos offers large supermarkets where a wider range of goods can be purchased.

Coast/Beach:

Property is on a beach and only 5 minutes walk from the main Praia da Luz beach.

Golf:

Luz is only 5 minutes drive from ‘Boa Vista Golf Resort’ or 10 minutes from the breathtaking Parque da Floresta course. Or only a little further away along the golden sands from Lagos marina is the Palmares course.
