This property should be top of your list!

We have thoroughly enjoyed a very peaceful 14 days visit to Zimmerbach with the most caring, gracious and helpful hosts you could wish to find. The mountain scenery is stunning and the towns and villages are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. As many have already said we were treated to bread, preserves and even cucumbers, tomatoes red, yellow, and white that tasted so wonderful. The location of the property is perfect for touring the Alsace and in around an hour’s drive or so you can be in Germany or Switzerland should you wish. There is an awful lot to see and do in the area so I definitely recommend you stay for at least a week. Should you get a rainy day you can visit the Cité de l'Automobile museum in Mulhouse which is absolutely fantastic and has many vehicles that I am sure you will never have seen before. Due to our medical conditions we chose to eat in most nights and believe me you will want for nothing in the kitchen. Local Auchan Supermarket is excellent in Wintzenheim by the way. The property is beautifully clean, nicely decorated and you will want for nothing, well maybe to stay a little longer!!. As the days go by the warmth given by Malou and Coco will certainly make you feel at home and that they have been friends for a long long time. Thankyou Malou and Coco for one of the best holidays we have had in years.

A super Alsace welcome

Coco and Malou couldn't have been more helpful - suggesting places to visit as well as being very knowledge about local restaurants. Loved our jams : Mirabelle /Rose/ Fig!) all delicious! I will be trying out Coco's. Recipe for Fig jam. Thank you both - A thoroughly enjoyable first visit to the Alsace!

Exceeded our expectations

Malou and Coco were hospitable, generous and informative hosts. The cottage is as described. The village has a good restaurant and a depot de pain. Truckheim is less than 4km away and is very attractive with many bars and restaurants and a small Casino. Malou recommended an excellent boucherie/charcuterie in nearby Ingersheim. The kitchen is well equipped as you would expect from retired restaurateurs.

A highly equipped property with everything a couple could need for a holiday in Alsace

Coco and Malou gave us a very warm welcome to the Gite and showed us where everything was. Whilst they did not really speak any english, they appreciated that my french was not great and spoke slower or were happy to repeat things or explain them differently. Malou is looking to start an English course this winter I believe. The property is like new and was very clean. On the Sunday morning they presented us with bread, croissants and some of Coco's delicious home made jams as we would not have had time to get anything in to eat. Coco and Malou checked regularly that everything was ok and gave us advice on where to visit either by car or by bike (we took bikes with us). We were told about special bike tracks down the valley which were traffic free and not too hilly. This area of the Alsace is beautiful and there are many places to visit all within an hours drive - again our host's advice was invaluable for example telling us about Le Lac Vert (the green lake) and the nearby mountain restaurant which was all beautiful. You are situated between beautiful towns of the southern Alsace including Colmar, Eguisheim, Riquewihr and Ribeauville - all of them both historic and extremely picturesque. As you get back to the property, Coco and Malou would take genuine interest in how our day had gone and we really appreciated the little touches such as occasional aperitifs if we were all around in the early evening (and we also got to sample the new batch of Mirabelle jam!). We recommend a stay chez Coco et Malou very highly. John and Angela (Lancashire, England)
