A very welcoming 'little' house

  • 5 of 5

Although it may be 'little', the house is really comfortable and has a very homely feel. It provided everything we (family of four) needed. We made particular use of the back garden and BBQ in the evening - the garden is not directly overlooked and is shaded in the afternoon/evening which is a bonus in the summer. There are a number of nice sandy beaches and coves within about 15 mins drive - most of which provide free car parking. The swimming pool is great for children and is only a couple on minutes on foot from the house. Bormes les Mimosas is a nearby and worth a visit and provides splendid views of the coastline. The house provides a great base for people who like to explore their surrounding area as it is minutes from the coast but also at the foot of the Maures Mountains. If you don't mind a car journey ( and have nerves of steel) the Gorge du Verdon, is spectacular and well worth a day trip. All in all we're happy to recommend this property to other visitors to the area. We are looking forward to returning to the house soon.

Owner's Response: Many thanks indeed to Sue and family for a very thoughtful review. we have had the little house for 20 years and it is very much our second home. The House Notes which we send to anyone who is interested suggest a day trip (a very long day trip) to the Verdun Gorge and we are delighted that you were able to make the trip; the Gorge is certainly spectacular. Nearer home a visit to the Abbee Thoronet is recommended; over the Autoroute Provencal (A.8) at gate 13 to the village of Thoronet and 2 miles further on. The Abbee is in a delightful setting and very peaceful. The beaches at La Faviere, Le Lavandou, St. Clair, Fossette Plage and Cavaliere all have parking gratuit but not I'm afraid at Cabasson and l'Essangnol beaches; parking at these beaches under the trees £6.50 (approx) for the day. Like you we think Le Lavandou and its surrounds has much to offer and we do hope you will be renting the Little House again; we have pencilled in your provisional booking! Jeremy and Anna.

95 Les Mimosanes - This is a lovely property known as the Little House.

  • 5 of 5

One cannot fail to like this property, it has everything you need to make your stay memorable.

It is well equipped. There are two bedrooms and shower room on the upper level.

A well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge.

We had the offer of 2 bikes. As we had no other transport (we travelled by plane, train and bus)

These proved very useful for shopping and for exploring the local area which had many safe cycle ways.

Walking to Le Lavandou and La Faviere was easy enough.

There are lots of pretty places to visit in the area. Obviously a car is better to go further afield but there

is a bus service to places like St Tropez, Toulon etc.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for this splendid review. Anna and I were very much concerned that you didn't intend to hire a car but you assured us that this wouldn't be a problem and so it has proved; you have clearly thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. We make no charge for the use of the bikes but must point out that they are not exactly Tour de France models! Anna and I cycle into Le Lavandou (flat all the way), enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants and cycle back without the worry of being over the limit! We are pleased you found the kitchen well equipped; it is of course part of the Sejour and not a separate room but the layout is compact and seems to work well. Again many thanks; we are thrilled with the 5 stars! Anna and Jeremy.

Pretty 'little house' in the South of France!

  • 5 of 5

The owner, Jeremy, was very attentive from the start in ensuring we had all the information we required and our stay was comfortable.

The 'little house' is very sweet and has everything you need and more.

The property is well maintained and boasts the benefits of having a tennis court and swimming pool on site.

It's perfectly located for beautiful bike rides and sight seeing. My husband and I particularly liked to stroll along the beach at Le Lavandou and have our aperitif sat outside a lovely little fish restaurant in the port area looking out on all the amazing boats and ... people watching! (There is a very nice ice cream parlour there too).

We visited Ramatuelle, St Tropez and Grimaud which are just beautiful. Two really pretty little churches in Grimaud.

We also went to the large shopping Mall between Hyeres and Toulon as we wanted to get some new clothes for Spring; which was just about on it's way whilst we were there.

The weather was very good considering the time of year and we did have a few really sunny days with bright blue skies and sunshine.

I forgot to mention being able to lie outside the bedroom on the two loungers on the balcony with your morning coffee ... that really was a lovely treat.

I would highly recommend staying at the 'little house' to fellow travellers. The South of France is just amazing and this is a perfect place to stay and explore.

Owner's Response: Thank you Caroline and Adrian for your delightful and generous review. You did and saw so much that there is little we can add. Grimaud and Ramatuelle are splendid hill villages but so too is Bormes les Mimosas; the hill village just above the Little House about 3 miles away. The village is very attractive and renowned for its countless floral displays and Mimosa! We are so pleased that you clearly enjoyed yourselves and very much hope that you might re-visit sometime. Anna and Jeremy.

Very enjoyable stay, nice surroundings

  • 5 of 5

The property has all we (couple with two children) needed for a holiday at the beaches. The house is nicely furnished, the various household aids are in very good shape. There is WiFi available and the neighbourhood was very quite, especially at night. We were very glad to have found such a nice place.

Owner's Response: Many thanks Harald for your sensible and kindly review. Yes the Mimosanes Estate is certainly quiet and as we point out in the House Notes which all Renters receive before a booking is confirmed probably too quiet for teenagers who will want to seek out the night-life in Le Lavandou. WIFI is available at no extra charge; the cost is covered in the weekly charge for the Little House. Jeremy and Anna.

Little House - Big Nice Surprise

  • 5 of 5

A great little villa in quiet residential location. Safe environment and parking. Villa has everything needed for a perfect holiday. Cleanliness depends on previous occupants. Good location for lovely beaches, small resort towns and many good walking possibilities. Really picturesque area, particularly with lots of beautiful flowers in bloom and unusual plants, cacti etc Difficult to find fault. Good clear information from the owners who respond quickly. We would recommend this property to anybody. John & Carol, Cheshire, UK

Owner's Response: Thank you so much, John and Carol, for a really splendid review and for giving the Little House 5 stars. The House Notes which we send to all our renters before a booking is made explains that to a large extent we rely on the renter leaving the property in the same condition as they would like to find it; we think our prices properly reflect this. That said Mme. Nieuwjaer, our near neighbour and helper, always cleans and tidies if cleaning and tidying is required. Jeremy and Anna.

A Little Gem in the South Of France

  • 5 of 5

A truly sweet villa that is ideally located and within a short drive to some of the best beaches in the South. This is my third visit at this villa and although small, it is perfect and has absolutely everything you need!! Very clean, front and back garden, good size bedrooms and a lovely open plan kitchen and dining room/ lounge. Beautiful villages and beaches nearby with great restaurants, cycle routes, diving in the area. Excellent value for money.

Owner's Response: Many thanks Michele for your very kindly review. Anna and I are delighted that you have rediscovered the Little House! We hope we have the opportunity of welcoming you back on other occasions. It was good of you to mention the fact that the weekly charge represented "good value". Anna and I really don't want our renters to think that they have been over-charged; we would prefer that they had an extra £50. in their pockets for a night out! Again many thanks. Jeremy and Anna.

Nearest Airport : Toulon/Hyeres at 25 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Cafe d'Europe at 0.6 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Val Cros La Londe at 8 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Cafe d'Europe at 0.6 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Faviere at 2 Kilometres Car: necessary

Le Lavandou is some 20 miles West of St. Tropez and a recent Sunday Times travel article suggests that the resorts to the West are more enjoyable than those to the East. The Le Lavandou beaches ( St. Clair, Fossette Plage, Cavaliere, Faviere,Cabasson and Estagnol) are particularly recommended. They are superb. A trip to the Isles d'Hyeres and especially Isle de Port Cros is a must. The backdrop to Le Lavandou is the range of Des Maures hills; these provide splendid walking opportunities and the roads/lanes by car are quite exciting!
